Margaret & I drove through Echota frequently over the last few decades and frequently discussed buying a cabin in this development because of the easy access, beautiful setting and closeness to all the things folks do when they come to Sevier County. We bought our first cabins five years ago. The new Convention Center and Wilderness of The Smokies Waterpark & Resort are now located across Highway 66 about 1/2 mile from the resort. We have become familiar with which cabins people prefer and when The Lakota Wolf cabin became available, even though the economy was in a down cycle, we decided it was a must for us. It was in good condition when we purchased it yet we have spent time taking care of the little things and installed a new hot tub and now are ready to welcome back the folks who already love this cabin and those who await a new love affair with the LAKOTA WOLF at Echota.
Vaughn Leslie purchased this cabin in 2010
We have owned other cabins in Echota for several years. During our drive throughs we have monitored occupancy and noted that The Lakota Wolf cabin was always booked. We missed an opportunity to purchase it a few years ago but after looking at it we decided to buy it if & when it became available. That opportunity presented itself earlier this year and we were fortunate to acquire The Lakota Wolf cabin. One stay and you'll agree it is very special and will want to return often! Should you decide to leave the cabin for a while you will be close and convenient to all the things folks do when they come to Sevier County, Tennessee. Dollywood, The Mountains, Shopping, Restaurants,--you name it , it's close by.
We enjoyed our stay in your cabin for our 3rd Anniversaryy/Christmas getaway from Hattiesburg, MS.
The mountains has to be our favorite place to visit and on this visit the privacy and hospitality made it absolutely perfect.
We will definitely book our next stay with you!
Thanks again Mr. Leslie & family for your hospitality
We rented the Lakota Wolf Cabin for a week to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. We were looking for a private, secluded cabin to get away from it all and we found it at Lakota Wolf in Echota. The cabin is perfectly situated at a U in the road and is the last cabin before the woods. It was very quiet and peaceful with very little traffic passing by. The wooded views were beautiful. Inside, the cabin was decorated with a wolves and native Indian motif. I liked that it was different from all of the bears that generally decorate the cabins in the area. The theme was carried out throughout the cabin, not only in artwork and figurines, but even in the choice of wallpaper and dinnerware, totally completing the package. We found all of the immenities that we needed to be able to cook meals. We spent the day of our Anniversary enjoying the natural beauty of the wooded mountainside from the porch, while we grilled steaks and relaxed in the Hot Tub. The serenity of this cabin allowed us to reconnect with each other. During the rest of the week, we ventured out and took several trips by car to nearby nature areas within the National Forest. We highly recommend that you consider this cabin and the Leslie Family of Cabins when considering a cabin for a trip to this area. The owners were very responsive and genuinely caring.
My husband and I made Lakota Wolf our home for a long, snowy weekend in February. This cabin is like something from a fairytale, both inside and out. The bedroom with the fireplace (on a timer!) over the jetted tub was very romantic. The living room, with the vaulted ceiling, comfortable furniture and fireplace, was a cozy place to read and watch the many hours of DVDs we'd brought along. We brought plenty of food and wine and the kitchen was well equipped for all the meals I prepared. There are no stairs, which was a big plus for us. We were snowed in, twice, no less, and we LOVED it. We did not leave the cabin for five days and we were completely content. I spoke with the owner a couple of times and he could not have been nicer to deal with. This is the perfect cabin for two people who want to get away from it all and just focus on each other. We plan to return to Lakota Wolf when the weather allows us to explore the area, and then maybe we can use the hot tub, too!
My wife and I got married in this cabin in Nov. 2000. This is one of nicest places I have stayed in. The cabin was cozy. The hot tub on the deck was amazing. We will have to plan an anniversary weekend when we get a chance.
This is our favorite place when going to Pigeon Forge. Close enough to enjoy everything, but in a quiet community. Will certainly be back.
This comfy cabin has everything you could want for the perfect getaway for 2. Very private, beautifully decorated and close to anything extra you might want. It's like camping in luxury. This was our 2nd stay and our favorite of any other cabin that we've stayed in. Way better than a hotel.
We had a wonderful long weekend at the Lakota Wolf. We loved the location and the privacy and being away from the crowds but close enough to everything we wanted to do. The cabin was clean and we enjoyed the screened in porch very much. The bed was especially comfortable. When we arrived the air conditioner was not working but the owners got someone out that night to fix it and treated us to dinner on them. You can't ask for more than that. I would highly recommend this cabin for your trip to the Smokey Mountains.
