Beat Vacation ever loved everything about St George Island!!
The home was marvelous, the pool was perfect for our young ones. Plenty of space loved the house and the Island just like home town folk. gracious and friendly!! Thank you Jamie and HomeAway for a wonderful fall vacation
House was great! Jamie was always available for anything we needed. Can't wait to come back
A great spot for family fun
This was our second time in 2 years to stay a week at 1 Amazing Sunrise. We enjoyed out stay and such an easy walk to the beach everyday except for 1 rainy day in the middle of the week; perfect!! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The cleaning ladies did a great job with getting the place ready, cleaning for bathrooms, kitchen and floors. Sorry to not give 5 stars but the furnishings are getting a little tired and are in need of a good cleaning with some need replacing or reupholstering, and the pool needs resurfacing. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our week with our extended family of 11 and had plenty of room!
Great place for Multiple families
We enjoyed our stay despite tropical storm Cindy. Having two living spaces allowed our group to spread out during the rainy days. The proximity to the beach is very good, just a short walk. The pool was a great added feature. The kitchen was very well equipped although you should consider bringing a non-stick fry pan if you are going to prepare eggs during your stay. The beds were very comfy. We would definitely stay here again.
Perfect for a large family. A short walk to the beach. Loved having two separate living areas. Kitchen and living area was spacious and easily accommodated our large family. Screened porch was great. Outside picnic area was nice and enjoyed having our own private pool. St George Island is great for family time and businesses are friendly and helpful to vacationers. Our second year there and will be there next year. Thank you for a great time!
Forgotten Shores Reality was very helpful (Jamie)!!
Loved house, location to beach and weather
We had 3 families with 6 children and really enjoyed our stay. The house was spacious and well equipped (especially the kitchen) and everything went smoothly. It was a quick walk to the beach, we loved the pool and bike path and the children swam and rode every day. Have been to SGI before but this house and location was our best stay yet.
St. George Island is a 22-mile barrier island with some of the most beautiful and serene beaches on the Gulf Coast. It is one of the last inhabited, yet unspoiled, barrier islands of Florida, with miles of uncrowded beaches for sunning and shelling, clear Gulf waters for swimming and excellent fishing, pristine marshes for wildlife viewing. The newly erected 79 foot St George Island Lighthouse stands proudly in the center of the island. St. George Island State Park occupies the far eastern end of the island where you will find nine miles of pristine shoreline, majestic dunes, bay forest, sandy coves and salt marshes. The park has a series of hiking trails, boardwalks and observation platforms. Bird watching is a popular activity here. You might encounter one of the many migratory birds that use the island as a stopover on their way south or north. Sail or powerboats are available for rent, or rent a kayak and explore the remote bays and inlets where you might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle over head or a dolphin swimming in the surf. Rent a bike and ride the paved bike trail or head down to the state park for off road trails. If you like to fish you'll be in heaven on St. George Island where even a novice fisherman can bring home a fanciful treat for the evening meal. If cooking is not on the agenda, St. George has a variety of eateries that serve only the freshest local seafood. Enjoy oysters surfside or dine on the bay watching the sunset. After dark the Island nightclubs offer live music, billiards, darts and other games. If that is not your thing, just recline on the beach and watch the moonrise over the Gulf or take the kids and watch the sand crabs scramble from hole to hole. Finally, visit the great shops on the island that carry everything from beach gear, clothing, gifts and books to gourmet treats, original artwork and jewelry.
