This beautifully furnished apartment has its own private 750sq ft deck over looking Road Town harbor. There are fascinating views of the harbor and out across Sir Francis Drake's Channel to Salt & Peter Island. Allamanda Apartment is situated 5 minutes walking distance between the Moorings and Village Cay Marina. All the conveniences of Road Town are minutes away - dive companies, day sails, all ferry services to outer Islands, shopping, restaurants & the capitals financial centre. The central location enables visitors to Tortola only to require a short drive to a different beach everyday.

About Lisa & Kezzia Gray

Lisa moved to the British Virgin Islands in 1991 and shortly after moved into the Allamanda Apartment with her husband. Six years and two children later they moved into an apartment right next door.

Her daughter Kezzia, now 24, manages the rentals for the Allamanda Apartment. She has a handful of years experience working on Necker Island (a private island in the British Virgin Islands) and therefor will be working towards ensuring you have a comfortable & flawless stay at the Allamanda Apartment.

It is situated on the waters edge, including a private dock with views of a quiet but active harbor. It's located in a complex of apartments giving you a safe & friendly space.

Centrally located, easy to find, 5 minutes from everything town has to offer and just a short drive over the hill to explore Tortola's stunning array of beaches.

What makes this apartment unique

The Allamanda Apartment is located on the waters edge of Road Town Harbour. It is a tranquil escape in the heart of the town & the perfect accomdation for a holiday or work trip.

The apartment has one bedroom, one bathroom, a spacious living/dining area, a homely and cosy kitchen, a sun room & doors that open onto a 750 sq ft deck on the waters edge. The harbour is busy with sail boats leaving & returning yet it offers a peaceful place to soak up the sun, read & relax.

The on shore breeze keeps the apartment cool with fresh air, fans and an A/C unit in the bedroom are available when the breeze is not.

Conveniently situated in town it is only 5 minutes from all that Road Town has to offer (shops, restaurants, banks, ferry, taxi, day sail, dive shops, bars, night life) and a short ride over the hill to begin exploring many of Tortola's beautiful beaches.

Easily found it's location is a 5 minute car journey from the Road Town ferry terminal and 25 minutes from EIS Airport.

If you're on vacation this is the perfect place to stay to ensure you can easily visit all the islands!

Road Town has great spots for meals out, happy hour & some night life on a Friday night.

On the Northern coast there are numerous gorgeous beaches from east to west.

The ferry dock located 5 minutes from the Allamanda Apartment has ferries that run to Anegada, Virgin Gorda & St. Thomas (USVI).

A half hour drive west allows you to jump on a ferry to either St. John (USVI) or to the sleepy island of Jost Van Dyke.

In the apartment you'll find a hard copy of local suggestions of what not to miss with all the details you'll need to plan your days. Including a local power boat charter company on your door step!

Beautiful spacious apartment in a great location!

We spent most of our time outside on the deck looking at the boats. We walked to the grocery store in 15 minutes and into town in about the same time. We loved our stay and look forward to our next vacation!

Great value for a Road Town apartment

The apartment was quite inexpensive for the area, so I wasn't really expecting too much. I was pleasantly surprised. The apartment is clean, well stocked, convenient and in a safe complex. The pool is tiny and doesn't look like much, but I spent a nice cool day there reading and had it to myself. The owner was helpful and available. I did hear Dodo, the bird next door, but I didn't find him annoying. I would definitely book again if I am back in Road Town.

Great Location in Road Town

The GOOD: The apartment is very well equipped and is located in a great location in Road Town. It’s ideal for taking in everything this beautiful island has to offer. So central, you can easily navigate your way to any place on the island in less than 20 minutes. Lisa (Caretaker) is very warm and responsive. She is readily available to answer any questions you might have. She was a pleasure to have met.

The BAD: The Bird!!! The next door neighbor has a beautiful pet parrot that is housed on their back porch next to the windows. This bird starts squawking extremely loud at or before 8:00 each morning and does so every 30-40 minutes throughout the day until the cage is covered at night.

So if you like to sleep in past 8:00am on vacation or take naps during the day…look elsewhere. This bird will not allow for either of the two.

Owner's Response: Hi Ziggy, I'm sorry Dodo annoyed you that week. He's normally very quiet all day long, just a few squawks when he wakes up & at feeding time. He chats & laughs to himself most of the time, has an afternoon nap, but if he gets angry or startled we can calm him down. Most guests find him very amusing & entertaining. Maybe it was having an 'off' week as there were lots of people around over new year, I do apologize, Lisa UPDATE January 2017 - Dodo has been relocated to another Island to live with other Macaws.

Less than stellar

My wife and I stayed here this past June. The only A/C in the unit is in the bedroom. It is a pathetic window unit and doesn't cool at all. There is no actual forced air except from window unit.

The rest of the apartment was stifling and oppressive from the heat.

There were cockroaches in the kitchen as well in the bathroom.

The dock over looks a marina this is true but is also situated by what used to be where the sewage was pumped out into the bay and the view is marginal.

The dock needs repair and had several nails that had worked themselves out of the boards

The surrounding neighborhood is less than stellar as well.

We were planning on staying for 7 days but left the next stay and took our boat over to Scrub Island staying there for rest of our trip.

I contacted the owner about getting some of our money back and got no real response or effort to make this happen.

This is the email I sent and got zero response.

"Lisa, my wife and I have departed your apartment. The heat in the apartment was simply unbearable. There was also hair in the sheets and numerous bugs in kitchen and bathroom which we weren't quite sure if they were cockroaches or not but the that along with the heat facilitated us having to seek accommodations elsewhere. If it's feasible to return a portion of our deposit that would be greatly appreciated"

I am not one to take my time to write any type of review good or bad. After being lured by photos that represented a relaxing place to stay as soon as I walked in I knew we were in miserable place and that is why we left the next morning.

Owner's Response: This review is not accurate. Yes, the guest did leave after one night but I did respond to his email informing me immediately - not the "zero response" he stated. I also met with him a few days later & he told me that his wife found the apartment too hot & he thought it was best to move to a fully air-conditioned resort to keep her happy. He told me "no problem" or "not to worry", and he never asked again for a refund. The apartment has an ac unit in the bedroom & plenty of ceiling fans - as advertised. I don't know why he thought it was fully air-conditioned, and yes the Caribbean is hot in July. Most people who visit enjoy the fresh air & open windows. There is absolutely no sewerage being pumped into the harbour. I have lived at Tobacco Wharf for 25 years & I wouldn't be living here if that was the case. This is a false statement & I feel he is trying to be very damaging. I admit the dock needed a little repair and it has since been fixed. We treat the apartment regularly for mahogany bugs & ants. It was unfortunate a bug was in the kitchen & I apologized for this to him.
