We bought a brand new split-level apartment and created a warm, comfortable environment in a modern style.

We NEVER ask for 100% in advance. If you want to arrive straight away, we ask you to pay cash ON ARRIVAL but NEVER IN ADVANCE. If you think we have, IT'S NOT US!!!!

This apartment has every comfort we can think of, even WiFi since 2014! Solar panels on the roof ensure constant and environmentally friendly hot water, the Bosch washing machine and tumble drier are in a separate room on the roof terrace and the kitchen has all Bosch appliances. The TV and DVD are Sony, all the wardrobes are beautifully fitted and the double-glazed windows are framed by 2 sets of flowing curtains. Great beds, comfortable furniture inside and out - you may not want to leave!

One of the greatest things about its location is that you can leave your car in the private garage and walk everywhere in the village. There is a covered market 6 mornings a week for fruit, vegetables, fish and meat as well as many grocery stores in Zahara itself. We have only been renting out this apartment since 2011 and already have many return customers.

We have spared no expense to put the best of everything into this apartment. Air conditioning has been installed in the master bedroom. Unfortunately, the promised "built ready to install air conditioning" failed to materialise and there is no sensible option for air conditioning downstairs. The windows open and there are electric fans in each downstairs bedroom.

It's hard to immediately cover bare walls so we have opted for swirls of colour plus a few pieces that we picked up along the way. We will continue to add more as we find it.

Chandeliers in the lounge, modern lighting in all the bedrooms, ceiling spots in the kitchen and bathrooms - we believe lighting is an important part of comfortable living. Running on very low voltage LED lights, naturally!

Hi! I'm Barbara Mincik. I first discovered Zahara de los Atunes in 2001 and fell in love with it the moment we first crossed the bridge over the river Cahon. I bought a house here ( and spent 7 years here. Then I met Robin, now my husband, and moved back to the UK. But he was just as blown away by Zahara as me. As we had the Beach House in Atlanterra, he decided we needed a village pad too. The banking crisis hadn't reached Zahara at this point and you still had to be quick to secure your place in this sun!

Why Barbara Mincik chose Costa de la Luz

All of Zahara is close to the beach. Zahara was built on the beach! We wanted new, near the beach and close to all the wonderful bars and restaurants of the village. The Edificio de Colores was perfect. Brand new, if you discounted the hideous dark blue tiles in the bathrooms, decent size and great location. We bought it, had it pulled apart and started again. The result was a lovely modern apartment with a Bosch kitchen, light and modern fully tiled bathrooms and solar panel heated water. We spared no expense with fitting and furnishing this beautiful apartment but we can't live everywhere at once so in 2010, we decided to allow others to enjoy it with us on the holiday rental market.

What makes this apartment unique

Nobody takes better care of their properties and of their rental guests! We don't do "rental furnishing". Mi casa es tu casa - if I don't want to sleep in that bed, I don't expect you to either! Sadly, the company that made our beds went to the wall during the banking crisis that did finally hit this coastline. I have had rental guests asking where we got them so they could buy the same! We use only high class linens and 100% cotton towels. We also provide beach towels. You have a utility room with Bosch washing machine and tumble drier, although everything dries in a couple of hours on the lines provided on the roof terrace. There is A/C in the top bedroom and electric fans in the bottom two bedrooms. Once you leave your lovely duplex, the beach is 3 minutes to your right and the village 3 minutes to your left - and your right as there is a great wooden boardwalk behind the beach that takes you right to the oldest part of the village to all the restaurants and bars there by the scenic route. What is not to love?

Schöner Aufenthalt in Zahara de los Atunes

We had a lovely stay in this brand new luxury apartment located in the 1st line just 150 m from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the centre of Zahara de los Atunes. The 2-Level apartment has 3 comfortable bed rooms, 2 bath rooms and a very nice roof terrace. The open kitchen is well equiped. All furniture is of best quality and modern style. The huge luxury masters bed room and stunning be well bath room are located up the stairs in the 2nd floor offering privacy to the parents. The garage is big enough for a 5 series BMW station wagon. All in all a very nice apartment in an excellent area of Zahara de los Atunes.

Ferien in Zahara

Wir fanden die Unterkunft sehr schön und konfortabel. Alle möglichen Geräte sind vorhanden und funktionieren. Die Lage der Wohnung ist sehr vorteilhaft. Zum Atlantik sind es nur fünf Minuten und das Dorfleben von Zahara ist ebenfalls nur wenige Meter entfernt. In Zahara ist es möglich einen entspannten Urlaub zu verleben und an dem spanischen Leben teilzunehmen. Der kleine Ort verfügt über zahlreiche Tapasbars und viele Möglichkeiten zum Bummeln. Von der Wohnung ist alles Sehenswerte des Ortes ohne großen Aufwand erreichbar. Dazu kommt das Zahara eine gute Lage bezüglich zu besuchender sehenswerter Städte hat. Städte wie Gibraltar, Tarifa, Cadiz und andere sind entspannt mit einem Auto zu erreichen. Wir waren mit der Wohnung, sowie der Einrichtung und der Sauberkeit, sehr zufrieden und würden es weiter empfehlen. Viele Grüße Anne und Familie

Wir sind am Nachmittag nach eurer Abfahrt in die Wohnung eingezogen und haben gedacht, unsere Putzfrau sei schon da gewesen, die Wohnung sah so gepflegt aus. Me ha encantado pasar unos dias en este duplex

Hemos pasado un fin de semana de lujo con un tiempo estupendo y en un maravilloso duplex en el centro de Zahara de los atunes, al lado de los mejores restaurantes, heladerias, e incluso pubs ( tanto de la playa como del pueblo ).

Sobre la estancia nos ha sorprendido el estado de todos los muebles, de marca Bosch los electrodomesticos , los sillones de Piel , la television Sony ..he destacar el detalle de tener muchisimos Cds de musica, DVDs de peliculas, cantidad de libros en incluso juegos para niños y mayores.

Tambien destacable que haya productos como bombillas de respuesto, analgesicos, cafe, productos basicos, etc.. es mejor incluso que un hotel.

La terraza de arriba sencillamente fantastica para tomar el sol o un gintonic por la noche con el fresquito y la fantastica tumbona que hay.

La plaza de garaje quizas sea la unica pega, si tuviera que poner una, aunque todos los dia he encontrado aparcamiento justo debajo de nuestro duplex, aunque me di cuenta que en la cochera incluso teniamos dos bicicletas para pasear tranquilamente por el pueblo, aunque debido al bebe que llevabamos no lo hemos podido hacer.

Sin duda volvere ha encantado ¡¡¡¡

Ah se me olvidaba, la ducha de la planta de arriba es enorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrme me encanto ducharme todos los dias jajaja

Owner's Response: Estamos muy contentos para saber que estuvisteis tan contentos con el duplex, con su equipo, con sus muebles y con su locación. Ahora sabemos que la cochera no acabe con un Audi Q7 pero a los otros inquilinos no ha puesto una pega. !Que lastima! Lo siento mucho. Por lo menos habéis podido aparcar abajo. Francamente nosotros tampoco usamos el garaje cuando hay aparcamiento en la calle. !... "mejor incluso que un hotel"! Un cumplido maravilloso - gracias y bienvenidos en el club del Calle Ola! Zahara, agosto 2015. Apartamento estupendo

Llevamos muchos años veraneando en Zahara, zona de Atlanterra, y los últimos 3 años en el propio pueblo de Zahara.

Es la primera vez que estamos en el apartamento de Bárbara, y es tal como aparece en las fotos.

Muy bien situado, perfectamente equipado con todo lo necesario, incluso con artículos de primera necesidad.

Bien conservado y muy limpio. Es el mejor de todos los que hemos conocido hasta ahora.

El trato estupendo, tanto por parte de Bárbara como de Concha la persona que nos entregó las llaves y te muestra el apartamento. Nos resolvió de inmediato todas las dudas por teléfono o whatsapp, y las necesidades que tuvimos.

Dispone de WiFi, imprescindible si necesitas conectarte con ordenador, ya que el 4G está saturado en la

época de verano. Dispone de plaza de aparcamiento cerrada, imprescindible en la zona.

Sin duda repetiremos en los próximos años.

Descanso, Situación y Trato exquisitos

Han sido 8 días de auténticas vacaciones, con un trato personal por parte de Bárbara difícil de encontrar en ningún sitio, dándonos todas las facilidades para poder disfrutar de estas esperadas y deseadas vacaciones en Zahara, y eso que las dificultades de la vida hacían peligrar esta estancia.

La casa es estupenda, con un sitio privilegiado junto a la playa, bien comunicado con las cercanías donde hemos disfrutado igualmente de las recomendaciones echas por Bárbara y conocimos las Playas de Bolonia, Valdevaqueros y Tarifa, donde además no vacilamos en hacer una excursión para ver los delfines y ballenas en el estrello. Zahara es pequeño, Coqueto y especial para tapear todos los días, También conocimos Atlanterra y sus playas junto a casas de ensueño.

Hemos estado dos familias con 2 niños incluidos, y ellos se lo han pasado bomba.

Un sitio para recordar, un sitio para regresar.....pero cuidado que los molinos delatan el aire que de vez en cuando sopla!!!

Agosto 2011 en Zahara

Hemos pasado 8 días en este estupendo duplex de Zahara y la experiencia ha sido muy positiva. El duplex es muy amplio y esta muy bien equipado. Todos los electrodomestico, mobiliario utensilios de cocina etc... son de muy buena calidad y todo esta cuidadisimo. Esta muy cerca de la playa y tiene una plaza de garaje cerrada que se agradece ya que en la zona es complicado aparcar en estos meses de verano. Tiene una terraza grande desde donde se ve el mar y ademas teniamos incluso hamacas de playa y sombrilla. Cerca del piso se dispone de todo lo necesario como tiendas, farmacia, panaderías y muchos restaurantes. Las playas de este localidad son estupendas y el clima suave y muy agradable. Hemos pasado unos días maravillosos sin y lugar a duda volveriamos a repetir.

Solo nos queda dar las gracias a Barbara y Robin por este duplex tan estupendo y cuidado.

Our duplex is in the village of Zahara de los Atunes, a tiny, white-washed village on the beach with excellent restaurants, tapas bars and beach bars. The sun sets directly into the sea in Zahara's bay and there are plenty of places to watch it over a drink. On warm summer evenings, the Artisan Market provides colour and atmosphere behind the walls of the Pirate Fortress. At the end of the bay is the fishing port of Barbate. Beyond, the pine-covered hills lead to Caños de Meca and the surfer's beach, El Palmar. Inland, you find the white hill-top villages of Vejer and Medina. An hour away are the cities of Jerez and Cadiz. In the other direction, visit Tarifa, European capital of windsurfing as well as port for whale and dolphin watching expeditions. There are plenty of places to explore - that is if you can drag yourself away from the beach and Zahara's wonderful night life.

  • The apartment has almost endless supplies of hot water in the summer months from the solar panels on the roof. If in doubt, there is also an electric water heater but so far we’ve never needed it (even in winter). Both bathrooms are fully tiled with high quality tiles. The master bedroom en-suite has a 120 x 80cm shower basin with glass door front. The family bathroom has a glass shower screen over the bath. Both bathrooms have high quality porcelain basins, bidets and WCs and each bathroom has a chrome heated towel rail. Inset spots give a gentle light and electric extractor fans prevent condensation.
