Enjoy the ocean and the sound from this comfortable home. The walk to the ocean is short, and the beaches at this quiet end of Oak Island are uncrowded and spacious. The sun rises on the east end of the ocean front and sets on the west end. In summer, the sunset is viewed from the sound-side deck. As the day progresses, the sound side deck usually has shade by noon while the ocean side deck enjoys sunshine.
Keywords: Located at the quiet, uncrowded west end of Oak Island, NC. Spacious unspoiled beach, clean and natural.

About Carolyn Hackett
My husband and I bought this house to provide a gathering spot for our family so that we could enjoy the ocean and boating activities. The large driveway provides plenty of room for boats and for children to play; the relaxing sounds of the ocean and the sea buoy force us to slow down and take it easy.
Carolyn Hackett purchased this Cottage in 1998
Why Carolyn Hackett chose Oak Island
This location is close to the Blue Water Point Marina, 'The Point' and the beach. While our cottage is not ocean front, the walk is short. The beach is usually a quiet, family-friendly spot with plenty of space to claim as your own to enjoy. It is safe to leave your tent or umbrella and gear for the day.
What makes this Cottage unique
We love the sound of the breaking waves and the sound of the ocean buoy guiding boats into the Lockwood Folly Inlet. We also love the sightings we often have of dolphins, pelicans, and boats. It is a great place from which we watch sunsrises, sunsets and the stars.

We had a great time at the house for a week. We loved how stocked the kitchen was, and the kids with us loved the games, Legos, and beach toys! It was close enough to the beach access that we could run back if we needed to. We had a great time!
It pleases us to know your stay was such a success!
Lovely, well-stocked, and comfortable home in a perfect location. We had plenty of space for our group of four kids and four adults to relax and enjoy the beach. We hope to come back soon!
We are always pleased when our special place suits our guests well! Thanks for sharing, and do come again now that you know the unique specifics of our cottage!
We had a wonderful stay in this home. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Owner provided detail instructions and house was well stocked with everything needed. I really like being close to the inlet and the easy excess to the beach.
We are glad you enjoyed your special retreat and we hope you will visit again!
Very comfortable and well supplied.
I found the kitchen to be very user friendly. The living area is good for a family gathering. There are toys and games for children of all ages which is great if you have a rainy day. We had three generations at the house and we all loved the house and our vacation at Oak Island.
We are glad you found our cottage comfortable and well-supplied for your needs, and that you found Oak Island as wonderful as we find it to be!
Great Family Destination
We stayed at this Oak Island beach house with 3 young children (6 months, 1 year, 3 years) and this destination was perfect! The walk to the beach is very easy yet not easy enough the children could wander down to the water unattended. The big back porch was perfect for relaxing breezy afternoons and family game nights. The house comes stocked with many items that others don't...kitchen utensils, pots/pans, pack n play, sand toys, board games, etc. Plenty of room for a large family. Went into Southport (quick drive up the coast...very easy to get to) and had a great dinner at Fishy Fishy. Sweetreat Icecream had just opened in Oak Island and we had some great homemade icecream...the raspberry and strawberry are the best and taste homemade!
Great location! Great Amount of Space!
We had a wonderful stay at your home....a one minute walk to the beach is crucial in 95 degree weather. :) The mattresses were incredibly comfortable, the space was adequate and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
