Spend some time at our beautiful beach house overlooking Natural Bridges State Park. Hear the surf and see the ocean through the trees from the living room and the expansive deck. Drift into sleep listening to the waves from your bedroom. Walk down the block to the beach, build a sand castle, and play in the waves. Stroll down West Cliff and watch the surf crash against the cliffs. The house is also a short walk to Swift Street Courtyard, home to Kelly’s French Bakery, the Cellar Door Café, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, and multiple wine tasting rooms, including Bonny Doone, Copious Winery, and Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard. This newly remodeled beach house comes complete with flat panel TV's in the living room and separate kids' zone, Cable, DVD, and wireless Internet.

The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a sleeping loft. The upstairs living room has ample seating for enjoying the view, cozying up to the wood stove, or watching the flat screen TV. The spacious master bedroom is also upstairs, and overlooks the park. Two bedrooms and the 2nd bath are downstairs. The front downstairs bedroom is bright and sunny, with a queen bed. The downstairs back bedroom is very large (25x12). It has a queen bed, and a sitting area with another flat screen TV and a futon couch which folds out to a full size bed. The room also has a loft with two twin beds. It’s a perfect spot for a kids’ hang-out.

The house was completely renovated during the spring of 2011. The kitchen and both baths were stripped to the studs and remodeled, with all new appliances. All doors, carpets, and floors were replaced and everything has been newly painted. The furnishings are also new, and the kitchen is fully stocked with plates, pans, utensils and serving pieces. We have a gas grill on the deck, and seating for 8. We added a patio in the back yard in 2012 with a fire pit that's perfect for roasting marsh mellows. The house is also equipped with wireless.

We have lots of toys as well: 3 adult size cruiser bikes in the garage, two boogie boards, and 6 beach chairs, all for your use. Rental also includes bath towels, sheets, and beach towels (8). The kids will love making s’mores in the fire pit in the back yard. The boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz are three miles away, an easy bike ride along West Cliff. The house is a perfect location for exploring Santa Cruz, Capitola and Aptos. Other great day-trips include the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the shops of Carmel. Come, relax and enjoy!

About Bruce Ramstad

Bruce is one of the few 2nd generation San Jose'ans you'll meet. He grew up in Willow Glen and went to Bellarmine and UC Santa Barbara. He works in the defense industry as a business analyst. Michaela grew up in Philadelphia and moved here to work for HP as a software engineer. Much of our courtship involved long walks along the beaches of the Monterey Bay. It worked, because we have been married since 1989. Our two children keep us busy, but we still love to hike, bike and swim together when we have time. The Westside is a perfect location for us!

Why Bruce Ramstad chose Santa Cruz

We have dreamed of having a house on the beach in Santa Cruz since we met in 1985. We love strolling along West Cliff, hiking up to the University, biking up and down the coast, and swimming at Cowell's Beach. When we found a house where we could see and hear the ocean, we were hooked. We hope eventually to retire here.

What makes this house unique

Stroll down the street to West Cliff and Natural Bridges State Beach. Watch the butterflies when they return in the winter. Take advantage of the many restaurants along Mission Avenue, in downtown, or on the wharf. If you're in the mood to stay home and cook, both New Leaf and Safeway grocery stores are minutes away. You can dine on the deck overlooking the park and the ocean, and roast marsh mellows as night falls in the fire pit in the back yard. In the morning walk up to Kelly's Bakery for a scone and a latte.

Take the cruiser bikes along West Cliff, or the wharf. Cruise the boardwalk and ride the Big Dipper. Take the boogie board down to the beach and ride the waves! Enjoy all that Santa Cruz has to offer.

Fantastic Family Time

Perfect place for hanging out with the fam bam! The garage is full of beach toys and bikes. The beautiful beach is a short walk down the street. The house is perfect; clean, homey, stylish and comfortable. The kitchen is so well supplied that you will just want to stay home every night and cook in. The location is so peaceful and quiet being right across from the state park, but an easy drive to town (especially if you avoid Mission St by sticking to Delaware.) A true home away from home. You won't be sorry if you book this place!

Loved our stay!

We had the opportunity to stay at the Westside Property for New Years and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Plenty of room for 8. It was down the street from the beach and very close to wineries, little markets, and amazing restaurants. Bruce gave us some amazing suggestions as well!

Nice bright home to have a vacation....Thankgiving 2016

I had not rented a vacation home and I was not disappointed and neither was my family.

The home is clean and bright and well equipped..

The kitchen is very well stocked with what you need if you want to prepare food which we did. The dishwasher is very quiet which is great when you have an open floorpan like this. The upper deck off the living room and dining room has a gas 4 burner bbq with side burner, plenty of seating and a large round table that has a built in lazy susan. There is a large quantity of toys for the beach including bikes, beach chairs, etc. There is a wood burning stove in the living room and a fire pit in the back yard with park benches around it. The beds are comfortable and we slept great. Even in the loft.

Only about half a block from the water made for nice walks along the cliffs and views of the sunset.

The monarch butterflies were at Natural Bridges State Park when we were there. It's an easy walk to see them as well.

Bruce, the homeowner, was very helpful when I had questions about renting and supplied some good info restaurants and nearby markets.

He was very quick to respond when we contacted him as well.

I hope we can get back here again!

Wonderful yearly family vacation

Very nice house and well equipped with just about everything you would need. Having access to the bikes was great as there is many bike trails you can experience. Very close to the beach and not a climb down very easy walk. I would definitely choose this house again.

Everything You Need

My family of five very much enjoy our stay at Bruce's home. The layout is very beautiful - the kitchen, living room and master bedroom and bathroom upstairs - while a cozy two-bedroom plus loft and bathroom are located downstairs. The deck is open and expansive with a lovely view of trees that offer a small opening of the ocean. The house is a convenient walk to a local beach and a short drive to the Boardwalk, downtown and hikes at Wilder Ranch. I enjoyed using a bike located in the garage to bike to the Boardwalk. The house is clean, well-decorated, and the kitchen comes fully stocked with everything one would need to cook. I would highly recommend vacationing here and would love to return!

Fantastic home for our family vacation

We had a wonderful time in Santa Cruz and this home was perfect for our family. We were close to the beach and we found Natural Bridges beach to be a perfect place for the kids to play in the water. It was much quieter there than anywhere near the Boardwalk. The walking paths nearby were great and we were pleasantly surprised by all the nearby amenities (grocery store, restaurants, etc.).

The house itself was perfect for our needs. We had a great amount of space and the kids loved the loft. We had all the comforts of home and Bruce was wonderful about answering any questions that we had in a very timely manner.

I would definitely recommend this house to friends or family and we will look in to staying here again if we make it back to Santa Cruz.
