Wonderful week In North Rustico

  • 5 of 5

It was our first time to PEI and North Rustico and I am now in love with it. We spent a week in this lovely Condo at the end of July 2014. What a great decision!, There were 2 couples in our group. The Condos are clean, beautiful and stocked with all the necessities. Very comfy beds, too! As this property overlooks the harbor and ocean, A wonderful place to enjoy the Island. The views from the boardwalk are awasome. We saw bald eagles flying overhead on more that one occasion, many Seagulls , a blue heron and we even spotted an osprey nest full of their young. When we were not on the beach: mackerel fishing with the Bearded Skipper's deep sea fishing was a highlight and we fried them up on the BBQ provided.

The owner Kelvin, was quick to respond to any questions and concerns and made the whole rental process so much easier than previous ones.

Everything was perfect about this condo and location, which contributed to a relaxing, joyful vacation. We recommend it highly :)

Thank you Kelvin!

Wonderful location! Great host!

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and comfortable and the price was unbeatable. It was very close to the water and the North Rustico lighthouse. It is also just down the street from The Blue Mussel Cafe, which was recommended all over the island to us as the best place to eat...and it did not disappoint! The host was very helpful and welcomed us in person to the property. He also provided us with passes to Green Gables and PEI National Park, which was very nice! Charlottetown is just a short trip away (about a 30 minute scenic drive). The charm of being out of the city was nice but since it was so close we went into the city twice. The only thing I will say is, if you are wanting to be right on the water without any obstruction of the view (a few houses, power lines), then this may not be the place for you. For some reason, we were under the impression we would be on the water (our own assumption based on pics/description), while we were VERY near the NR Bay and could see it from the condo, it was an obstructed view, nonetheless, we were still VERY pleased. The water and boardwalk was just a short walk away, as was a nice little grocery store and Fisherman's Wharf, where you can get a great lobster meal with a buffet and of course souvenirs. For the price you simply cannot do any better than this property in my opinion. It is in a beautiful part of town, the host is wonderful and the condo is nice and clean with everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!

Everything you might want or expect

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful few days in North Rustico, thanks largely to the convenience and comfort of this property. We were visiting at the end of the season, but found charm and value right on the waterfront. The unit was as advertised, everything worked and we even got extra tips and value from the owner.

Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Kelvin for the use of your great condo! The condo was very clean and looked just like the pictures! The location was amazing. It was within walking distance to the grocery store, many restaurants, a bakery, coffee shop and even the beach which was beautiful and quiet. We even walked one evening to the Watermark Theatre which gave a very impressive performance of "The Glass Menagerie". The free pass to the National Parks was a plus as we were able to park at many beautiful beaches for free. Lastly, a restaurant to not miss is the Blue Mussell cafe which has fantastic fish, and if you mention that you are staying with Kelvin they will give you a discount. North Rustico is truly a beautiful town and a great location in one of the most beautiful areas on the island.

Everything we needed in North Rustico and more

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a challenging summer and knew that we needed to get to our "happy place" otherwise known as PEI. It was our 5th trip to PEI but our first stay in North Rustico. It was also our shortest stay but was everything we needed. The owner of Rocky's House and other properties known under the name Salt of the Harbour, Kelvin McQuaid, was very accommodating in finding us accommodations (!) and making us feel welcome and comfortable. Kelvin is a super nice gentleman full of fascinating stories that he's happy to share and we were happy to hear about.

Kelvin's "Rocky's House" is a brand new addition to his offerings which is a 150+ year old 2 story/2 bedroom/2 bathroom completely refurbished home right across from several picturesque fishing shanties and the harbour. The comfy deck offers a great perch to watch fishing boats come and go from the harbour. Rocky's House was modern, bright, clean and comfortable. A great option for our family of 4 with an unbeatable view and location at a very reasonable price. Outstanding value.

Bikes and passes for local parks and information about different areas of PEI as well as North Rustico were all made available to us. Rocky's House is close to everything North Rustico has to offer and North Rustico has a lot to offer! Rental Kayaks and Bikes, Deep sea fishing, a beautiful boardwalk along the beach, more than 5 great restaurants including Fisherman's Wharf Lobster Supper, Restaurant & Gift Shop and Blue Mussel Cafe, a fresh fish market, bakery, grocery store ETC/ETC/ETC!

Without hesitation and with great enthusiasm our entire family would recommend Rocky's House or any of Kelvin's properties in North Rustico to anyone seeking a relaxing and refreshing vacation and a quintessential PEI vacation.

We needed a break and we will always be grateful to Kelvin for being such a great host. We hope he will become a long time friend as we hope to visit often.

Just like the pictures. Clean and very comfortable. N. Rustico is a lovely village with its harbor, stores, restaurants and proximity to the National Park. The park passes , Green Gables entry and bikes were a real bonus. Thank you Kelvin!
