The Perfect Little Getaway Spot!

  • 5 of 5

It's a sweet little cottage! Perfect for us since we love to park the car and walk everywhere; you can easily catch the bus (free = purple dot bus) from the closest square down a couple of blocks. I'd also recommend using pedicabs if you're out late. The mechanics are a bit noisy; fridge gurgles and ticks and the HVAC is loud when it cycles on. If you're a sound sleeper, no problem. I noticed too late that there is a white noise machine in the cabinet next to the bed. We loved the high ceilings, the well thought out arrangement of the space and the kitchen had everything we needed. Janet is very fast to respond to phone calls and couldn't have been nicer.

A cute home very close to everything you want to see in Savannah

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend trip for our 1st anniversary. The home is decorated very nicely. To save money, we cooked breakfast in the mornings and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was close (less than 15 mins) to everywhere we wanted to go to in Savannah. The designated parking space is very nice to have. We found out very quickly how hard parking is to find in Savannah, so we used Uber and felt comfortable to leave our car there. Janet was very friendly and checked up on us when we got there. The only thing is that shower is really small and the shower faucet is confusing (we only got lukewarm water when we turned it to hot, and then had to play around with it for a long while and eventually found hot water on the cold side). Coming from Florida and it being only 60 degrees average in Savannah, we definitely needed the hot water lol.

Architect's Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Delightful little cottage in the historic district of Savannah. Close walking distance to a number of restaurants. My favorites were Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room (don't miss for lunch--it's worth the wait) and The Olde Pink House (be sure to make a reservation). Easy walk to one of the many Old Town Trolley stops. Get a 2 day ticket for the trolley--it is worth every penny. Parking in Savannah can be a challenge, so having a parking place reserved for the cottage was a huge plus. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't use the car until we left to return home.

The cottage is small, but cozy. Since there is so much to do in Savannah, we didn't spend a tremendous amount of time in the cottage, but when we were there it was very comfortable. Since I teach online classes for a university in my home state, having free wifi that worked great was a huge help. Janet was wonderful to work with--she message us after our arrival to see if we needed anything. I feel certain that if anything had come up during our visit, she would have taken care of whatever it might have been. I would highly recommend the Architect's Cottage.

Great mini-vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Savannah. We were able to check in a couple of hours early which was wonderful for us. The cottage was even better than we expected -- no surprises. The location was good and we were able to drive or Uber wherever we wanted to go. We did have to buy a couple of towels and washcloths because I forgot to take extras. We definitely will stay here again if we go to Savannah.

Savannah, GA is beautiful, historic and artistic.

Founded in 1733, Savannah was the new world's first planned community. Wander through twenty-two squares landscaped in azaleas and live oaks dripping in Spanish moss.

Every major event in US history touched the city. Visit a Revolutionary War Battlefield and the house Gen. Sherman occupied during the Civil War.

Used as the location of many major motion pictures (Forrest Gump, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Something to Talk About, etc.), it is now the location of the Savannah Film Festival every fall. And in the spring is the Savannah Music Festival.

Fifteen miles from the Atlantic Ocean at Tybee Island, GA, and two and a half hours from Charleston, SC, Savannah is perfectly located to enjoy all manner of recreation. Savannah is a perfect vacation spot for every interest in your family.
