visit of historic district
Small, but cute guest house. We did not eat in as we wanted to enjoy many restaurants in the area. Free parking. Enjoyable walk to reach attractions.
Perfect little house
Really nice little house. Easy to walk everywhere. Thank you so much for sharing your little place. We loved it
Perfect stay! Great place to stay for a long weekend.
Janet is very responsive, cottage was clean. Location is great, 15min walk to historic downtown. I can only recommend this cottage for a long weekend in Savannah.
Our stay at The Architect’s Cottage was perfect. It was very clean, cozy and quite.
The location was fabulous; just a short walk to the Riverfront, restaurants and numerous Squares. The Cottage was everything it claimed and more. Very clean, cozy and quiet. Janet was an excellent hostess who’s suggestions for dining and entertainment were dead on. We highly recommend the Cottage. It’s has all the conveniences of home with tons of southern charm.
Delightful stay for 3 nights
My Wife and I had a very delightful stay in the Architect's Cottage. The cottage itself provides all of the comforts of home for 1 or 2 people. The location of the cottage is ideal for access to all of the sites in Savannah. The free bus stop is only 3 short blocks away. We parked our car in the private off street space and never moved it during our entire stay. We walked everywhere and utilized the free bus system. Janet was excellent with her communication and offered her assistance even though we did not need to contact her because everything was perfect for our stay. We will definitely return to the Architect's cottage when we visit Savannah again.
Historical Blended Nicely With New
The cottage itself was very nice. It was historically old, with a nice blend of new amenities and old architecture. We loved sitting on the back porch under the translucent roof, with the ceiling fan going, protected from the few showers we had, and the sultry southern heat. The bed was comfortable; WiFi worked great; a little disappointed in the lack of TV channels; electronic door lock system worked great; and the air conditioning worked great. I didn’t feel like we were really within easy walking distance of some of the main attractions, but once we figured out the free DOT bus system, things were more accessible (particularly getting down to the river where a lot of the action seemed to be). Maybe a DOT Bus brochure and explanation could be provided to help people get around better. Finally, it was nice having a parking space included given the high cost of parking in Savannah. All in all, it was a very nice stay.
Savannah, GA is beautiful, historic and artistic.
Founded in 1733, Savannah was the new world's first planned community. Wander through twenty-two squares landscaped in azaleas and live oaks dripping in Spanish moss.
Every major event in US history touched the city. Visit a Revolutionary War Battlefield and the house Gen. Sherman occupied during the Civil War.
Used as the location of many major motion pictures (Forrest Gump, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Something to Talk About, etc.), it is now the location of the Savannah Film Festival every fall. And in the spring is the Savannah Music Festival.
Fifteen miles from the Atlantic Ocean at Tybee Island, GA, and two and a half hours from Charleston, SC, Savannah is perfectly located to enjoy all manner of recreation. Savannah is a perfect vacation spot for every interest in your family.
