|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Rustic!!! 700 sq foot cozy cottage with everything you need for a cozy get-a-way. It sleeps a total of 6. Cable TV, heat & Air. 7 minute strool to Lake Huron or a 5 min drive to Beautiful Downtown Lexington. It has 2 bedrooms with a queen size bed in both. We are in the process of completely redoing this cute little cottage but will retain alot of the rustic charm that made us fall in love with it. Firepit and a yard for the kids to play.
Mark made sure to head up and turn the heat on for us so the cottage would be warm. That was really appreciated since it was rainy and chilly both days we were there. The cottage was clean and had everything that we needed. We have already discussed coming back in the winter and again in the summer to take advantage of the beach.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cottage. We could walk to drive to the beach. Thanks to Mark fir running out to help us with the hot water.
Our stay at Mark and Lori's cottage was wonderful. Mark and Lori are kind and helpful, offering whatever is needed. They communicate immediately. The beach area is just as pictured, like they state, just a short bike ride or walk from the cottage. The pictures are accurate. There are many beaches, lighthouses, restaurants and shopping nearby. The neighbors are very welcoming! We were blessed by their story and would highly recommend!
We enjoyed our stay at our Lexington MI cottage. I discovered that it wasn't on the beach when I put the address into Google to get directions. That was no problem but my wife was also surprised as she felt that the pictures on the web listing conveyed a beachfront setting. As stated, that was really no problem as we had beach access for swimming and kayaking. The owners were very cooperative, answering my phone questions - and most importantly by returning phone calls promptly. The owner also texted an apology about mowing the lawn one day - not at all necessary to apologize. The owner also allowed my dog to be included in the stay, and that was a big help for me. I found the owner very easy to work with.
As an improvement, both my wife and I would like more storage space for a one week stay - like a dresser or two, even if not in a bedroom. I'm not sure that could be accomplished without giving up some of the living space in the small cottage.
So overall - we were very pleased with our stay.
The area in which the house is located is reasonably quiet. There is a small amount of road noise from M-25, particularly if the windows are open. The place is cozy, and the shower has outstanding water pressure. My biggest complaint about the house was its cleanliness. The floors were quite dirty and the surfaces inside were VERY dusty. My wife and I had a terrible time with our allergies when we were inside the house. The bed was comfortable and the AC was acceptably cool, though the living room never quite cools off like the rest of the house. There is Direct TV with a limited channel selection. However, the TV in the bedroom is not connected and has no antenna, so please note that it is good for DVDs only. The beach is a short 5 minute walk, and the beaches themselves are lovely. Overall, if you're on a tight budget, it is a fairly quiet getaway for the weekend. But as with most things, you get what you pay for.
Had a great stay! This a cute rustic cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We never got down to the private beach as there are stairs down and not for bad knees and hips lol. Downtown Lexington is 5 minutes north and has many great stores and great places to eat. Our favorite was Lexington Brewery and Winery. The owners brew the beer and the wine from their Blue water Vineyard good food and atmosphere. Great fishing spots from Lexington to Croswell. This was a good comfortable place to get away. Don't let the rustic scare you there is indoor plumbing. The cottage is very comfortable and everything you need in the galley kitchen.
