We're a grown up family of four from England and stayed at the cabin for just under a week as part of a 2 week holiday taking in NY and Cape Cod. The place is wonderful, everything you need, very homely and the pumpkins and fall decorations were a really welcoming touch. Its right in the middle of the woods but still convenient for the main roads, views spectacular. Enjoyed the basement which is really fun and full of games. We went in early October and had great weather and the colours of the trees which were just turning were awesome. Went on walks, horse riding and (successful) moose watching plus plenty of rides out in the car to admire the scenary. We totally recommend this place.
We booked this property because of where it was located and because it seemed to have a lot of privacy, great amenities and a layout that suited our needs. We had high expectations, and and we were not disappointed. We used this as our base of operations as we took day trips to Wolfeboro, Mt Washington and the Shaker Village in Canterbury. We spent the days on the road, and enjoyed the property each evening. Prior to arriving the owners provided quick responses to a few questions that we had, and the information about the property was accurate. If your looking for a great property with lots of amenities in the Waterville Valley area, this is your place !!!
Our experience at the cabin exceeded our expectations. With hoped for quiet time with family, we were greeted by a gorgeous architectural wonder, a spotlessly clean house, and a green, tree-sheltered retreat. Outdoor shower. Bonus. The proximity to hiking trails, combined with peace and quiet was unbeatable. Our gratitude to the owners for sharing their idyllic retreat.
My wife and I, our son and daughter, and their spouses, spent 3 nights here in early February for a little get away weekend. The house was fabulous. Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and Moose accents everywhere! There was a nice booklet on the kitchen counter when we first arrived that explained how to turn everything on and with information on the local area. The basement has a game room and bar but we found we spent most of our time on the first floor because it is so comfortable and has a nice gas fireplace (that keeps the hole house very warm). The house is approx 5 miles from the Waterville valley slopes and my son went skiing at Cannon one day. We ate at the Woodpecker Pub and Eatery the first night and found they have quite a few Gluten Free items on the Menu including Pizza. They had live music and there was a pool tournament going on. On Friday night we drove to Lincoln (approx 25 minutes) to see the Ice Castles and had dinner at the Woodstock Inn. The house is off the main street and there are some rather steep hills to get to it (including the driveway). A four wheel drive vehicle is definitely recommended if there is going to be snow. There are a number of walking trails within a short distance and a nice little grocery store (the Campton Cupboard) about five miles away. We could not have been happier with the house and everyone agreed we should make this a yearly tradition!
We had such a great time at your log home. Loved all the details highlighting the cabin theme. Beautiful appointments from the furniture to lamps, hardware, kitchenware, etc. the best part was the fun finished bar/basement. So comfy and cozy no matter where we ended up in the house. Hoping to make it a tradition to visit. If you do visit, don't miss the Welch Dickie Trail just down the street. Spectacular hike with uncompromising view after view. This place is a gem!
