The property is owned by a non-profit organization and is located in a private valley near the ocean close to Cambria, Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo on California’s gorgeous central coast mid-way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We are located in an area of wineries and estate homes, close to everything but with very serene privacy. That rare privacy combined with convenience to all amenities is one of the reasons we chose to establish Dancing Deer right here. It's so very peaceful and beautiful and just a wonderful place to connect, unwind and rebuild.
Enjoy fabulous hiking through our oak forest on woodland trails and along tree-lined roadways - all without ever leaving the privacy of the property. Venture farther and enjoy beaches, wineries, Hearst Castle, Spanish missions, hot springs, restaurants and shopping. Everything from charming, locally owned and run shops to outlet stores are easily reachable by car.

About Maria Bucaro
This property is owned and operated by the Center for Reuniting Families, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. On November 15, 1994, the Center for Reuniting Families was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization with the following purpose: To establish and maintain programs providing both teen-oriented and adult assistance to educate and encourage choices that are positive for the individual, family, community and for the greater stewardship of the earth through experiential exercises and to develop a teaching institution disseminating educational material to the public. In addition to our core goals, at Dancing Deer Farm we provide a venue and shared resources to other non profit organizations who address the challenges of creating ecologically and economically vibrant and healthy families and communities. Through these collaborative efforts, CRF is a center for education, research, and demonstration to develop strategies for a sustainable future.
Maria Bucaro purchased this Estate in 2007
Why Maria Bucaro chose Templeton
Dancing Deer Farm isn't just another place to stay. With the focus of our non profit work, visitors can quickly feel the healing, calming and supportive energy that infuses this property. We encourage everyone who walks this land to be healthy, happy and respectful, and when that is done, you can't help feeling all of those things within yourself! It is our intention to have all of our guests leave our property feeling better than when they came.

Beautiful homes and property, a great location for a retreat!
We had a great time at Dancing Deer. Maria was very accommodating of our large group and made sure that we had everything we needed. The property is beautiful and spacious, and there is so much you can do there. The houses were very nice and set up well for large groups. Maria was very helpful with planning logistics and was always available throughout our stay to answer questions for us. It was a great experience.
Great place for a group.
Arrived to a clean, spacious location, as promised, with room for all. Everything was as advertised, and all had a great time.
It was great, and the staff was wonderful. Highly reccomend it!
If you're looking for a great place to stay this is it. It is beautiful and very clean. The space is accommodating and the staff is very helpful and kind.
Beautiful location for private event
Its beautiful location for any private event with family and friends.
Both the houses and cabins are very nice and cozy.
Most important plus point is the natural beauty of the place.
Maria was very helpful and helps in arranging the barn, rooms, dining area according to our needs. (Call her 2 weeks in advance before the event so she gets sufficient time for arranging the stuff)
I highly recommend Dancing Deer!
Amazing Stay At Dancing Deer For Wedding And Family Reunion
Went to Dancing Deer to officiate my niece's wedding ceremony. We could not have had a better time. The accommodations were perfect for our families especially the large kitchen and living room which became the "hang out" rooms. Maria and Cliff were wonderful hosts and took care of our every need. Plenty of space on the large property (80 acres I believe) to head off on a peaceful walk and of course no shortage of deer to see. Beautiful views to wake up to in the morning and enjoy the sun on the large deck. Can't wait for a reason to go back!
Would come back, but not during summer
We stayed in the hacienda and enjoyed the accommodations. The main pros: There was plenty of room for everyone, the beds were comfortable, and the kids had fun in the pool.
The cons: 1)The free Wifi was basically nonexistent unless you're up at 3am to connect and no one else in the house is connected. They did have a booster to increase the signal, but it was plugged in and not connected properly which rendered it useless. 2) The coffee maker didn't work at all. 3) the reason I wouldn't recommend staying during the summer is there is an AC wall unit in only 2 places--the kitchen and living room. This made the bedrooms hot and stuffy thus making it difficult to sleep at night unless the window/French door was open. We did have a ceiling fan in our bedroom but unfortunately it didn't work.
I would stay here again, but not during the summer. I would definitely bring a coffee maker, a MiFi for internet connection, and definitely bring ear plugs. The walls are thin and the sound tends to carry because of the hardwood floors and high ceilings in the living room.
With the coast only a 20-minute drive away, you can easily visit the beach for surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and parasailing in Morro Bay, Cayucos or Cambria. And just north of that, visit the elephant seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon! If you are here during the summer months, the Mid State Fair in Paso Robles is always a favorite activity, and easy to get to at only 8 miles away! Head south 30 minutes into San Luis Obispo for more central coast fun, including hiking some of the Seven Sisters of San Luis Obispo - our famous peaks of volcanic remains! We have hot springs just a few miles away, and on site healing practitioners offering a variety of healing modalities, so if you'd like to ensure your stay is relaxing and rejuvenating, we've got you covered! And if you like good food and good wine - this is the destination for you! With nearly 200 wineries in the county (two are directly across the street from us!), and a farmer's market almost every day, your taste sensations will be pampered and nourished! You are even encouraged to visit our 1-acre organic garden, talk to our farmer interns, and sample some of our seasonal harvest. If lake activities are your thing, it is a short drive to several area lakes: Santa Margarita, Nacimiento and San Antonio. Enjoy fishing, camping and boating activities! Take some time to appreciate our state's history with visits to some of the original California missions - Mission San Antonio de Padua, Mission San Miguel Arcangel, Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and Mission La Purisima Concepcion are all within driving distance. Come let us show why some have called this the Happiest Place in America!
