Welcome to the Historic Evergreen District in Midtown Memphis. Charming place near Rhodes College, Memphis Zoo, Overton Square & 10 minute drive to downtown and Beale Street. We offer our entire home built in 1917 bungalow with enough room for 6 to sleep comfortably. There is a big front porch for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. We have lovingly restored this home for relaxation and beauty. There is queen-size bedroom downstairs, twin beds downstairs bedroom, upstairs den/guest room with pullout sofa in sectional. Queen air mattress available for extra guests after 6 people. In the winter, we have a nice gas fireplace to add to the cozy atmosphere of the home.
Design, art and music are my favorites just after my three children! With my children all grown up, I've decided to share this peaceful space with other travelers. Memphis is a graceful & easy place to be, which describes my life here in my hometown.
Tammy Parker purchased this bungalow in 1981
Sorry for the slow response. We had such a good time in your wonderful house! We loved the warmth & artfulness & welcoming feel, and we really loved having a piano to play again! And Memphis was a delight--my husband said it was one of his top 5 birthdays. We owe it all to your great guide to Memphis, which sent us from the Cotton Museum to the Peabody ducks to a walking tour with Jimmy Ogle to the Mississippi River model (swan paddle boats and all) to Sun Studio.
My daughter just reminded me to apologize for eating up your last few carrots! We had dinner fixings our first night but no vegetables, and I completely forgot to replace them. My apologies!
Warm wishes to you,
This home is fantastic. I have stayed here twice so far. Located about 5 minutes from downtown Memphis - great location. Lovely neighborhood. The home is cozy, clean and great hospitality.
A charming, warm home in a great location. It was the perfect place to relax and catch up with old friends.
We would stay here again if we find ourselves back in Memphis. Great location
This home was just lovely, as was the owner, Tammy. I was in town with some colleagues for a training, and we decided to stay here rather than a hotel. We were so thrilled to find that the house was very comfortable and homey, and it had a great energy. There was a lot of original art on the walls, interesting books to check out, and a beautiful baby grand piano to play. The beds were so comfortable, and the sitting areas were cozy. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and seeing the awesome old houses. We found a great pizza place within walking distance (on Overton Park Rd), and I'd recommend that future guests check it out (for the food, not the atmosphere). Thanks, Tammy, for helping us have a great trip! We'll definitely be back!
This house is beautiful and has everything you need. The beds were comfy, its very roomy and fully equipped. It was clean and Tammy had left all sorts of nice things to welcome us on arrival. there was even a new spare toothbrush and toothpaste just in case! There was also chocolate bars and bottles of water in the fridge which was very welcome! The garden is stunning and the cost is so reasonable for what you get it beats any hotel hands down. The neighbourhood appears safe and friendly and its a quick 15 minute taxi ride into downtown Memphis. It was nice at the end of a hot day to sit on the swing on the porch and relax, we loved it. Dealing with Tammy was easy, she did everything possible to make sure we had a wonderful stay which we did. I would definitely highly recommend this property.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this home. The home was in a good location and centrally located to everything downtown. We spent most of our time at St Jude hospital which was 2 minutes from the house. The neighborhood was very quiet day and night. The home was older but in good condition. The beds were very comfortable and the AC was nice and cold. We would definitely stay here again.
