Clean house and friendly hostess
We were visiting NYC during our 6 nights stay in this house. Our hostess lives upstairs while we stayed on the bottom floor. This place was very clean. The bus stops to NYC are closeby and easy to walk to. The buses took us to either Port Authority Bus Terminal or George Washington Bus terminal; we could then easily transfer the subway to the rest of NYC. The bus fare was $4.50 one way.
Hostess Iris is very prompt with communication and helpful. The house was roomy and comfortable. If we come back to NYC to visit in the future; we will consider to stay here again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! WELCOME BACK TO TEANECK NEW JERSEY ANYTIME!
We would definitely book again. Very clean and close to major highways.

Loved this rental!
We loved this rental! It was very clean and nicely decorated. The owner lived on the property and was so nice and helpful - very friendly!
Also, very close to bus stops which made it easy to get to the Port Authority in New York City.
Would definitely stay here again........highly recommend this property!
Thanks so much Sharon! Welcome back anytime! Thanks for being such wonderful warm and friendly renters! I'm so glad you had a good time in the city! Safe Travels Always!
Highly recommend this property!!! Centrally located close to everything!
Very nicely equipped and furnished apartment in a wonderful location. The bed was comfortable and clean. The owner is readily available and was more than accommodating in every way. There are three large flat screen televisions with an excellent assortment of programming, including music channels. There is also a nice assortment of restaurants near by and we were there for a week so we tried quite a few of them.
If you need to spend some time in this area, we highly recommend you try this place to stay. It was just about perfect in every way. Only one note of caution---if you are taller than six feet two inches tall, you may find yourself ducking the ceiling in some places. That is because this is a very nicely converted basement and garage area so the clearance in some places naturally seems a little on the low side. However, for most people, this will not be a problem.
I really appreciate your note! You guys are wonderful. Thanks for taking such good care of my place and for being so consistently cheerful and absolutely lovely every time I ran into you and your lovely wife.
Thanks so much for all your suggestions and ideas and feedback and welcome back anytime!
I am Gratefully yours, Esther
It's a basement. And it felt like a basement.
My daughter and I stayed two weeks at this property. The first thing we noticed was the cave-like feel to the place. It's in a basement so the ceiling is really, really low with very little natural light. Frankly, after a couple days, it was getting depressing staying there. The main bedroom is nice and roomy but what's with the French doors? No privacy at all! The second bedroom/living room had the same issue with the see-through French doors. The sofa in that room pulls out into a futon but it's very stiff and uncomfortable. I had to put another futon on top of it to sleep comfortably. The kitchen is very small with the counter top awkwardly too tall to actually cook. And no full size oven, just a toaster oven. Trying to cook was a challenge! And most annoying was the lack of a thermostat in the basement.. The temperature was controlled by the owner upstairs so we were either too hot or freezing cold. Who wants to contact the owner every time you want the temperature adjusted? Lastly, I got a parking ticket near the house. So upset about that! I'm not from New Jersey and unfamiliar with the strictness of the parking rules. It would have been nice if the owner had warned me when she saw that I was in danger of getting a ticket. A friendly heads up would have been greatly appreciated! And saved me $54 in an unnecessary parking ticket.
The pros: The place seems new and clean enough. Every room had a large TV. And amenities like toilet paper, detergent, fabric softener and dish soap was provided. Even though it had only one bathroom, having a door to separate the toilet from the sink/shower helped in sharing the space.
In conclusion, would I ever stay here again? No, there are better properties out there.
THANK YOU for all your great suggestions on how we can improve our space. I have purchased more drapes to prevent the apartment from being filled with sunlight and interior drapes to make more privacy in bedroom, GREAT SUGGESTION Thank you!
Unfortunately our apartment is not meant for 4 guests and you only told me it would be you and your daughter. This apartment is great for 2 people, maybe 1 additional small child, but 4 people that you snuck in without asking or paying for, is too many people for this place, hence you felt cramped.
I’m very sorry about your parking ticket and understand your outrage. Perhaps I should make a diagram for future renters that includes photo of where to park and also list local parking rules. Good idea, thanks!
I’m glad you enjoyed the other things you mentioned to me privately about the exceptionally beautiful tiling job I did around the apartment and how lovely the trim and hand built ceramic tile bar is and how fabulous it was to have 3 huge TVs so that each family member could watch their own shows.
THANKS again for your constructive critique and great suggestions! Travel safe! Esther
Wonderful. Quiet. Peaceful. Very clean. Very nicely appointed.
