Beautiful Cabin in a Beautiful Setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The place is both bigger and nicer than the pictures show. We hosted family here and there was still more than enough room to host everyone. I think we had 26 people there one night and it never felt even a little crowded. The grill was large and worked well and made enough food for everyone.
I always like to leave some some constructive feedback so people know this isn't a fake/paid review. The pool was a little cold in June and there was no pool heater. Also the ceilings are not sound insulated. The kids were still in the pool all day and night so that didn't stop them. And the thin ceilings weren't a problem for us but it could be if you have people trying to sleep upstairs while there is noise being made downstairs.
The setting is literally surrounded by beautiful woods. We saw deer running by and heard the owls at night while making smores by the camp fire. The lightning bugs also made a beautiful show.
Some things are hard to put into words but you can just feel that the owners know how to show great hospitality. It is some visible things like fresh baked cookies waiting on our arrival or dry firewood stacked by the fire pit but it also more than that kind of stuff. Every time we needed something it was there. There are some labels just where things aren't obvious but they didn't haphazardly slap a label on everything. It is all well thought out. We left very happy.
If we are ever in this area we would stay here again.
P.S. Dolce Vita pizza is better than Papa Joes pizza
This house is a good size allowing family to be together or spread out. The bedrooms are very pretty with very comfortable beds. There is a beautiful livingroom and a separate sun room. Unfortunately I expected that the pool would be open but was still covered. Not sure when they decide to take the cover off but wish I had known it would not be available. It is a great property for a family vacation and would definitely stay again.
Thank you for the nice review. Generally in our area, pools don't open until the Memorial Day weekend as it is just too cold in early May for the water to warm up enough to actually swim. We promote our pools as being open in mid May so come back again anytime after mid May and enjoy the pool :) Thanks so much
Very beautiful house. Stunning view, very well kept and equipped home. Would love to come back in Summer
Lovely house and great location!
We all had a great time at this house. My husband, parents, sister, brother in-law, and niece all stayed here and loved it. Spacious house, nice rooms, fun games to play, and a convenient location! We are going to need to. Come back in the summer for the pool!
Great family vacation!
We spent a whole week and enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was clean and had plenty of space for our family of 4.
The only part that could have been better was the weather which has nothing to do with the house. It rained and was overcast almost everyday.
Despite the lack of sun we still enjoyed the amazing pool even though it was a tad chilly thanks in large part to the rain early in the week.
The house is very private with no neighbors on 3 sides. The only nextdoor neighbor is close enough to see through the trees but still a decent distance away. The driveway is a tad steep in parts and larger vehicles may find it a little harder to turn around. A couple of days we had to jockey a little with the gentleman that came to tend to the pool so we could leave or vice versa.
The drive from the house to Lancaster isn't too bad, though on the narrow roads it will take a little time. We found it a great time for the kids to count the Amish buggy's they saw. We took a trip to Baltimore for the Aquarium and we were in downtown in under an hour and a half.
We would recommend the house to anyone wanting to travel to the Lancaster area. You will have to do a little driving but there's plenty to see and do within only 20-30 minutes. It is a quiet retreat out in the country.
Amazingly beautiful and peaceful and relaxing.
We couldn’t get over how beautiful the cabin was inside and outside. We wanted to stay longer. Our kids and teen loved it so much. We enjoyed the scenery and the peaceful location of the cabin. The cabin had everything we needed. We grilled, sat around the fire pit, swam in the pool and on the rainy days we relaxed inside. There was plenty to do nearby. We visited the Susquehanna state park and the Amish village. Supermarkets and places to eat were a short distance away. We truly enjoyed this cabin and the Poole family was very responsive to every question. We would definitely recommend this cabin and would look forward to came back. Our experience was truly pleasant.
