Our 2016 season has come to an end. Winter beckons with a fresh snow on the Absarokas out our back door this early October.
Our 2017 calendar is now open, and beginning to fill. For you folks coming for a Montana wedding next summer it's not too early to make your reservation.
We thank you for considering our home for your visit to Montana in 2017, be it for a Yellowstone Park adventure, a wedding at one of the several wedding venue sites in the Paradise Valley, a reunion with family and friends, or fly fishing the magnificent Yellowstone River and the nearby world renowned spring creeks.
We strive to provide everything you might need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. You will find a very well stocked kitchen. We have spices, french roast coffee beans and grinder, oils, paper goods, and very sharp knives to slice and dice.
Just bring food and drink. We have the most wonderful 190 feet deep well pure water that you have ever tasted.
We have two water heaters providing 120 gallons of hot water.
We have a gas grill on the lower patio.

If you wish to confirm the reservation just email us and we will send you a rental agreement and lock in your dates. You can sign the rental agreement electronically.
Our reservation system is convenient, secure, easy to use, and accepts all major credit cards.
Our family friendly 3,600sf home is situated on 10.5 acres. It is comfortable and cozy for a small gathering, yet very spacious and roomy should you be looking for a home for your big family.
We can accommodate up to 14 guests. It is nicely laid out so grownups can be upstairs and the little ones downstairs.
The house is smoke free and pet free. The access road to the house is level and paved, just a 1/2 mile off of Highway 540, East River Road, the original road to Yellowstone Park, and 11 miles south of Livingston.
Whether you choose to explore nearby Yellowstone Park, hike the nearby trail heads, fish, raft the river, or just stay home and sit on the back deck, this home provides the peaceful quiet beauty of Paradise Valley at its best.
Our home is family and kid friendly. The large pasture in front of the house has a creek and pond, fire pit, and horseshoes...
The house can sleep 12 in the four bedrooms. The main level has 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, dining and great room. Off of the kitchen is a large deck with extraordinary vistas of the Absaroka and Gallatin Ranges and the Yellowstone River.
One bedroom on the main level has a king bed, and the other bedroom has two queen beds.
The lower level has a full daylight walkout basement, and offers a spacious family room, a full bath, and two bedrooms.
One bedroom has a queen size bed and a bunk bed. The other has a queen and a twin. The family room has a trundle bed that sleeps two.
Our fishing access on the Yellowstone River, available to our guests and members of our Home Owner's Association, is a convenient short drive away. It is accessed via a private road. There are two picnic tables and it is a wonderful place to throw in a line, or just relax and enjoy the river.
See the attached video below, as well as our photos. For launching boats from a trailer the state fishing access is a bit over a mile away just off of Pine Creek Road.
There is a lot of wildlife in the area including deer, foxes, coyotes, hawks, osprey, and eagles swooping down from the mountains to the river.
We see the occasional bear in the fall, foraging for berries, apples, and other munchies.
High-speed wireless internet service is provided. The family room offers a "smart" 48" TV, with a DVD player. Television channels available are the traditional networks, plus PBS, CW, Create TV, Amazon, Netflix and many dozens more...
There is a collection of children's toys and games. We have a high chair and a Pak-and-Play.
Paradise Valley is home to some of the world's best fly-fishing river and spring creek venues. Numerous trail heads for treks into the Gallatin Range or the Beartooth/Absaroka Wilderness are just a short distance from the home.
River rafting and horseback riding are available from a variety of vendors. (See our links.)
The Pine Creek Cafe ,just down the road, offers a great menu as well as outdoor weekend entertainment during the summer months. They also have a small store with drinks, beer and wine, some groceries, snacks, etc.
Chico Hot Springs and Resort, south of us off of East River Road, offers two hot spring pools, one warm and large enough for a vigorous workout, and one hot for soaking, a casual grill style restaurant, and a very nice fine dining restaurant. Their Sunday morning brunch is excellent.
Livingston is a charming historic western town well known for it's art galleries, and has a nice selection of fine dining establishments. Check out Anthony Bourdain's favorite 2nd Street Bistro. We had a guest who told us he had dinner there four nights out of the week he spent here. He liked it.
Bozeman is 35 miles to the west via I-90 and offers a wide variety of shopping and dining, a vibrant downtown night life, Montana State University, and the world renowned Museum of the Rockies. Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) is the closest airport.
Quite a few of our guests fly into Billings, Montana (BIL). Two hours to the east it offers more flight options, and some better pricing. Something worth checking out if you have a large group.
We met and were married in Santa Cruz, California. As our family grew, and as California "grew", we migrated to Central Oregon. It was a wonderful experience, living in the high desert country, amid the Juniper forests, with a crisp/dry climate, and wide open spaces.
We started a business designing and crafting a line of Christmas decorations. Our business grew rapidly and we moved to Southern California to be closer to wholesale markets, suppliers, and vendors. It was a formative and exciting time, selling to stores such as Nordstroms, Macy’s, Disney World, and many gift shops around the country. Two appearances on QVC with Susan's collectible angels sold out in minutes.
The Owner purchased this house in 1987
We chose this exceptional part of the world after we visited and camped in Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. We decided this is where we wanted to raise our family. When we made the decision to move here we placed an ad in the local Livingston paper: “Wanted: 3-4 bedroom house with acreage and a shop/barn to lease with option to buy. Five children, a well behaved dog, and a cat.” The most wonderful couple called us. We met them at the house, signed a hand written lease on a yellow pad that day, gave them a check on a bank out of state, and moved in the next day. They loved our kids, and dog, and had five kids of their own! What sealed the deal was our children picking a bouquet of wild flowers and presenting it to the owners of the house. This is what we love about Montana. Real people.
Another benefit was sending our four daughters to Pine Creek School, a two room schoolhouse just down the road, and the subject of a Norman Rockwell/Life Magazine painting many years ago.
When we moved here in 1987 we loved the spacious 3600 square feet and four bedrooms which was perfect for our family of seven.
But, the most important thing was the great shop/barn where we established our workshop and Susan’s design studio. It was unfinished, rather a rough space, and we had to refurbish it to our specs and heat it. But, it was perfect!
What we really appreciated was the natural beauty, the mountains, the river, the Big Sky sunsets, the privacy, the seclusion, the opportunity to be away from the crowd, but, still, not too far, with Livingston about 10 miles away. A fax machine, (which weighed about 15 pounds, and cost $400, and used that awful thermal paper), and UPS pickup service, was all we needed in those days before the internet.
We are centrally located in the Paradise Valley, close to Livingston and its fine restaurants and art galleries. The Paradise Valley is well renowned for its spring creek fishing venues, the nearby Pine Creek Lodge and Restaurant, Chico Hot Springs and its exceptional fine dining, and numerous hiking trail heads and Yellowstone River fishing accesses.
Or, if you just want to kick back, relax, and do not a whole lot of tourist stuff, just come to our place and enjoy the view. We are kindred spirits if such is your preference…

We are three families from Orange County, California. We live near freeways, beaches, and millions of people so this vacation truly was a different experience for most of us. So relaxing and beautiful.
We were able to see bears and cubs, deer, bison and many birds in Yellowstone on the 1st day we spent there. On our drive around we experienced huge crowds by Old Faithful. We called it the Disneyland of Yellowstone! Saturday, upon leaving, we plan to drive through the Park again to see the Upper and Lower Falls, which are amazing.
Our anniversary fell during this trip. Highly recommend the 2nd Street Bistro if you want a 4 star meal or occasion to celebrate! A gem of a restaurant. Make reservations and request a table by yourself, instead of a booth. An unexpected treat this vacation! Enjoy your stay here!
This rental property is a gem! The house is located between Liviingston and Yellowstone Park. The view from the house looks right at Paradise Valley with the Yellowstone flowing through and with mountain ranges on either side. The house itself can accommodate a large number of people and is especially good for families. The great room with fireplace is very comfortable and includes a dining table for those times when you plan to eat in. The kitchen is one of the most well-stocked kitchens that I have ever seen for a rental. The owners are very accommodating! I would highly recommend this place.
My wife, daughter and I had the privilege of spending four nights at this property the first weekend in August 3026 and it was amazing! Scott and Susan have a beautiful home that is well-decorated and appointed. They welcomed us personally when we arrived, giving us a tour of the home along with some great tips for places to visit and things to see in the area. There are beautiful views of the mountains and valley from the back deck, and the house offers a very open and airy feel in the living area. The large windows along the east (?) side of the house offer gorgeous views of the mountains from the dining room table! The kitchen had all the pots, pans, utensils anyone would ever need, ant the pantry was well-stocked with spices and freshly roasted coffee beans. The downstairs area was especially pleasant because we visited during a "heat wave" (per the locals, but I had to laugh because we were visiting from the southern US where the temps had been in the high 90's with heat indices in the 105 range for several weeks in a row); so, we would spend time there in warmer part of the day. Wildlife was abundant on the property (opened the drapes in the living room one morning and had three deer staring in the front window at me). This property is very conveniently located some 10-15 miles south of Livingston and 45 (a guess) miles north of the north entrance to the park. If you're a fly fisherman, its within 3-5 miles of the famous Paradise Valley spring creeks, and, of course, the Yellowstone River, with private access to the latter. Livingston is a neat place to visit and we also spent one afternoon shopping in Bozeman (about a 45 minute drive). Again, I cannot say enough good things about this property and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in beautiful Paradise Valley. We definitely would stay here again (and hope to do so).
We had 6 friends and family there for fly fishing and relaxing. I have been going to Livingston for at least a decade and rented many homes--this was the best! The pictures don't do credit to the actual experience and views from this home. We had no problems, we stayed up late every night looking at the stars and the Milky Way Galaxy was clearly visible right above us. It was hard to decide which was more spectacular--daytime or nighttime views! We also saw the meteor showers--really incredible. The house is very well stocked and every window has a view. They have a great gas grill that we used, horseshoe pit, fire pit (we didn't use), and the private water access where we caught an 18" rainbow in 20 minutes. Rooms are big, lots of beds, more than we needed. The house is also very private at the end of a cul de sac. Everything was as promised and very clean. See you next year!
I recently had the pleasure of staying here while on a family vacation. It was our first time in Montana, and we were amazed by the incredibly beauty all around us. This home was a perfect fit! The location was convenient to Yellowstone and there were so many activities to do closer to home. It was very comfortable and had plenty of room to accommodate our large group. I would highly recommend this home and hope to return one day!
We loved our stay at your Pine Creek area home. It had everything you could possible need. Very well stock for all your cooking needs. It was clean and maintained very well. Peace and quite, plenty of space and a beautiful floor plan. We really enjoyed the wild life we saw every day. Our 2 year old grandson loved the large deck(as the adults also did) and the toys in the basement. It was great that they had a high chair for him to use also.
Susan and Scott were wonderful. They answered every question we had. If we called them they got right back to us very quickly. They also gave us suggestions on places to visit if we asked for them.
We recommend this rental to everyone. We liked it that we were out in the country but could also drive to Yellowstone easily.

We loved, loved this vacation home. The pictures don't do it justice. We had everything you could possibly need, all you have to bring is your food and cloths. We had deer on the property every morning and evening, there were even binoculars for us to use. The sunsets from the house are breathtaking and you can also watch the sunrise.
We had a family vacation from ages 6 weeks to 54. There were 10 of us total and we would have had room for more.
It was nice to have a baby crib and high chair, and my 3 year old granddaughter loved all the toys. It was so nice that she had things to play with after spending alot of time in the car.
It's a little drive to get to Yellowstone but the drive is beautiful in itself. We found the best restaurant in Livingston called the Montana Rib & Chop House. You can't beat their lunch specials and the breakfast at the Old Saloon my husband is still talking about.
I hope to return to your home someday in the near future. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to spend our vacation.

Prior to your arrival we will email you with information to access the property. We like to meet our guests as they arrive and introduce ourselves and provide a tour of the property. We look forward to meeting you and are always available should you need anything to make your stay a great one! Should you be arriving later in the evening just let us know and we will give you access info.
Check out time is 10 am, and check in time is 4 pm or after.
Upon your reservation request we will provide you with a rental agreement and instructions for confirmation and payment options. 50% deposit at time of reservation. Balance due 60 days prior to arrival. All major credit cards accepted.
