I have lived in Montreal for almost almost 20 years. Before settling here, I was constantly on the move living, studying and working in other Canadian cities and abroad in New York, London, Geneva, Paris and further afield in Africa. I love to travel, but I also love to come home. My goal is to create a space where my guests feel welcome, comfortable and at home.
Location, location, location! You will love this cosy and comfortable ground-floor apartment in one of Montreal's most desireable neighbourhoods located on the north-east corner of Mount Royal, the city’s “mountain” and landmark green space.
This bright and spacious apartment comprises the entire ground floor of a well-maintained, two-storey heritage duplex located on a quiet tree-lined street. It’s just steps from some of the city’s best shopping, eating and entertainment options and the heart of Mile End a stylish, casual neighbourhood that has been described by the New York Times and others as the hotbed of Montreal indie music (with bands like Arcade Fire), cultural diversity, and all things cool. It’s easy walking distance to Montreal’s storied Plateau district, home to a bohemian mix of artists, students, yuppies and young families with a wealth of interesting shops, cafes, pubs and bars.
You can live on foot from this apartment. Within half a block you are on Laurier Avenue and you are minutes from St. Laurent Boulevard, both home to some of Montreal’s best retail shopping and an abundance of restaurants, both casual and fine dining, with food from around the globe. A short walk will take you to Rue St. Denis in the heart of the Plateau.
The apartment is around the corner from the best bagels in the world, you will be spoiled for choice among the bakeries and patiserries in the neighbourhood and some of the most delicious coffee in town is served in cafes right on your doorstep. Laurier Avenue boasts one of the best liquor stores in Montreal. There are a range of grocery stores: organic and conventional, gourmet, and those that offer fantastic prepared food. And you are just steps from all the services you need from dry cleaners to pharmacies from a post office to shoe repairs.
A 5-minute walk will take you to Mount Royal, the jewel of Montreal’s city parks. The 200-hectare park occupies part of the mountain that lies in the midst of the island of Montreal.
This is an easy review to write. We love to give positive feedback, and everything about this flat met our needs and more. The welcome was fantastic even to the sunflowers in a vase on the table when we walked in and supplies in the refrigerator so we didn't have to go out that night after a long day of travel. Transportation about the city was easy with busses running within a few blocks that could take us to the Metro as well as other sites throughout Montreal. The restaurants within short walking distance were really fun places to eat and not feel rushed at all. Moreover the neighborhood was safe and Sarah was available to give us help when we ran into a small problem. She proved to be very generous. Both of us highly recommend this Montreal accommodation and would definitely stay once again when we return to this great city.
As you see, we give five stars here if five stars is the highest possible mark. Terry and Donna
First of all the property is even nicer than it looks in the photos. Absolutely lovely apartment on a quiet tree lined street. My mother and I immediately felt more like welcome guests than renters. Sarah provided a delicious welcome basket of goodies and an extensive notebook with information about the apartment and the neighborhood. She was also extremely helpful when my mother called with a question.
The place is absolutely spotless! The kitchen is well stocked with all the pots, pans, etc.. for cooking at home. There is a washer and dryer plus necessary soaps and spot cleaners. Lots of hot water and fluffy white towels for the bathroom.
The location is perfect. A quick half a block walk to the bus stop (that arrives every 6 minutes!) that connects to the metro. Or enjoy the neighborhood and walk to the metro stop. You can be anywhere in Montreal quickly. We enjoyed the neighborhood parks, cafes and shopping.
Sarah was an amazing host with all we needed for getting us off to a great start in Montreal. The unit is ground floor so in the summer heat we were kept at a comfortable temperature. The neighbourhood is great. We walked to Metro (15 min) to take advantage of the city, but next trip to Montreal we will entrench ourselves with the locals to enjoy more of the food and fun close by. See their 'unit manual' with an extensive list of what you can find close by.
This condo is comfortable, quiet, and in a terrific neighborhood. The owner was very friendly and responsive, and she welcomed us with some yummy Montreal fruits, jams, and cookies. Felt like we lived here....and made the move very tempting!
We spent just over a week at this lovely home and would have happily stayed longer. The location is terrific and the flat has all the amenities you need for a vacation stay. As we enjoy cooking, we were happy to find that the kitchen was as well equipped as described online; having a washer and dryer was great as well. The location is very quiet and there are many excellent restaurants and shops within easy walking distance (5-15 mins). Sarah was also very welcoming, checking in on us when we arrived to ensure all was well. We really appreciated your hospitality Sarah - having a few staples on hand in the fridge when we arrived was great, I loved the Gerbera's! We are sorry we did not get to meet you in person, but perhaps next time we are in Montreal :-)
Well appointed flat, more than that our needs.
Helpful and considerate host.
The location was superb on a quiet street. Close to shops, coffee, croissants, and groceries.
We have friends that recomened this property. We would stay again.
