Leon was born and raised in The Bahamas and comes from a family who love boating, fishing, and traveling though the islands. Leon met Laura in England. When they returned for a romantic holiday, Laura was amazed at the colour and clarity of the water and instantly fell in love.
They now have 4 boys who enjoy The Bahamas, enjoying the local culture of relax and forever vacation: not wearing shoes, no long pants, loving the lifestyle.

We had a great time. House clean and spacious. Any small problem we had was dealt with quickly. Would definitely recommend this house for families.
We had an amazing vacation here....Susan was great to deal with! The house was exactly as pictured...6 of us stayed 2 weeks and never ran out of room! We spent the majority of our time on the covered patio and massive deck totally enjoying the weather. Everyday we seen new wildlife from the sea come for a visit....we seen sharks, rays and tons of fish. Snorkeling was so easy with access from the beach or the steps off the dock. Couldn't have asked for anything else! This was a fabulous place to have a vacation! Thank you again Susan for letting us enjoy your home!

We stayed in the house over Christmas with our family of 4 couples. We had a wonderful time. We had a few issues with the dishwasher not working, a socket in one of the back rooms not working, and the lights outside the first night but everything was fixed within the first couple of days.
The living and dining room was large and accommodated 8 for family suppers, movies and games. The outdoor area was great for coffee in the morning. We loved the beach beside the house and spent many hours swimming and snorkelling. It is a little rocky, so bring water shoes. There was a small reef just a short swim straight out from the private beach that was actually really excellent. There were a large variety of fish species and even some eels!
The configuration of the bedrooms was a bit weird. To reach the back bedrooms you had to go down a hallway that went through the master suite and there was no door on the master bedroom. To get to the garden bedroom, you either had to go down the hallway through the master suite or through the twin bedroom. However we coped with the arrangement. I found my bed fine but my son in law complained that his bed was very hard and hurt his back.
The wifi worked fairly well everywhere in the house, though sometimes you had to switch between networks depending on where you were in the house. It was fairly reliable and fairly fast as well.
We chose not to rent a car because we were concerned about driving on the left side and were happy with that decision. We found using taxis worked well and we didn't have to worry about parking and traffic. We felt taking taxis was a lot less expensive than renting a car. It was about $35 to get from our house to Paradise Island in a cab for four, and $80 to get from the house to the airport for 8 + luggage. Getting groceries was a bit of an issue. We had preordered groceries delivered the first day and after that we walked to the store about 20 minutes away and pushed a cart on the way back.
One small issue was there was only one set of keys. That took a bit of coordinating when we were going off in different directions.
We had a great time and would recommend the house to anyone. One of our best vacations ever! We will definitely come back! It was awesome.
we came for my nephew's wedding,but made a family week vacation out of it. So glad we did,and especially glad that we stayed at Susan's "Cape Codder,"she was wonderful and so was the house! Susan was great from the beginning answering every question I had about the property. The pictures are spot on, except that things are wearing down from time and obviously salt in the air, but the house seems to be kept up well.
Susan met us at the house upon arrival and showed us around. Because of the hurricane last month the dock was off-limits, but that wasn't a problem and the rest of the property was clean and ready.
We did have an issue with the BBQ, but a maintenance person was there later that evening and had it all fixed up.
The beds are a little stiff, but amazingly enough we all slept pretty well (although a memory foam topper would be nice and relatively inexpensive add). The airconditioning and ceiling fans worked well to keep the heat down and humidity low.
The house has wifi, one device feeds half the house, and another feeds the rest. Only on one occasion did we have to reset it, but the rest of the time it was decent enough. I heard Fiber was coming to the island, and that will speed up things tremendously.
The market is maybe a 5 minute drive down the road (super easy) and we bought all the food and supplies we needed. We actually ate at the house more than we went out. You could also catch fish right off the back of the property, and grill them up on the bbq.
Unfortunately the water line on the fridge didn't work, but a water cooler was provided with two full bottles, and a bag of ice in the freezer was fine.
The private beach on the side of the house is very nice. The kids really enjoyed playing and dipping their toes in the water. We didn't wade too far out, but it felt pretty safe. The house even comes with some small inflatable boats so you can float out if you want.
The road to downtown is very easy, but during the week (Monday especially) it is very busy between 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm (rush hour) and a normal 15 minute drive, can turn into 30-45 minute drive.
I think once cleanup is done around the island from the last hurricane it will be its beautiful self once again, but that should not in any way distract from a great property at a great price. And a host that is always available to make your stay excellent!
Upon arrival to the airport, my group (party of 6, ages 24-32) we took a taxi fare to the property, which is about 30 minutes away. When we first stepped foot into the house...absolutely beautiful. The interior living room and kitchen is spacious, with a perfect ocean view. The patio with the grill is located perfectly to eat outside and enjoy the weather. We utilized the backyard every single day of our stay. The water is very easily accessible. Snorkling was one of our daily activities in the backyard. Fishing poles, snorkling gear, a dingy and kayak are all provided by the owners! Also, the grocery store is within walking distance, so that was a huge plus for us.
My only complaints would have to be:
A. The water pressure. Apparently this is not a new problem to the area. Many locals informed us that the Island has had this problem for awhile. The pressure is there, but it isn't much when everyone is using water. Don't let this deter you though. It was only a minor inconvenience.
B. Ants. In the kitchen there's a few small sugar ants that like to roam around. Not a big deal either.
C. The beds are pretty stiff. Stiff might be an understatement. The most comfortable room is the one nearest the grill.
Overall Impression: Book at this property! We couldn't have asked for a better property, landlord, or time! Susan is always in contact and will help you in any way she can. Do not hesitate to book this place! Get it while you can =)
