Our Stay at the Log Cabin at the Ocean

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful setting in the forest right across Hwy 1 and the ocean. Comfortable home and very clean. I rated as 4 stars but could easily be 5 based on the following suggestions:

Fix the torn screen door so little flying bugs cannot get in.

We brought aluminum foil (just in case) and as it turned out there wasn't any foil or any type of plastic wrap or storage/freezer bags that we could find.

Have windows and screens cleaned more often to keep ahead of cobwebs and so guests can truly enjoy the gorgeous views

Put shower mats in both tubs as both showers were VERY slippery

Make sure all light bulbs are working (one over the kitchen counter was out when we arrived)

Check out the guest lock box as we were not able to open it after several tries. Luckily I called ahead before we lost our cell service and got the back up code for the second box, which opened easily. Due to lack of cell service in the area this would be a good idea for all guests to know.

Also good to note, this cabin is not in the town of Jenner which is 30 miles south of Timber Cove.

Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with us. We had an amazing stay. The setting is peaceful and homes are so far apart you do not see or hear neighbors.

Warning: Rodent Infested

  • 1 of 5

The property was beautiful and the cabin exactly what we wanted for our Thanksgiving family trip, EXCEPT the cabin was infested with rodent. We arrived on late Wednesday evening and went straight to bed. When we got up the next morning, we noticed droppings on the kitchen counter tops and dining table. Thinking the cabin wasn't occupy in a long time, we purchased bleach cleaner and cleaned up all the surfaces carefully. When we went to bed the next night, we cleaned up all surfaces again and contain all of our food. The next morning we woke up to even more mouse feces: on the kitchen floor, on the dinning table, and on the kitchen counters and appliances. Also found the upstairs bath tub was filled with droppings. It was disgusting! Since our reservation was not refundable, we wanted to stick around, but decided to leave immedately. I reached out to their management company regarding the matter and they never got back with us. We hope that the owner will take this health risk seriously and take care of their rodent infestation before renting the cabin out again.

The home was beautiful, comfortable and just as described.

  • 5 of 5

I brought my family of 6 to Timber Cove for the weekend. The house was big enough to accommodate all of us and we were able to just hang out, play games, hike, enjoy the beach, and have a lot of home cooked meals. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishware, which was important because there's only one restaurant and really no grocery stores nearby. The interior of the home was beautiful and warm and comfortable. The only negative I have is I would light up the stairwell it's quite Steep and dark so it's easy to fall and the beds could be updated a bit. They're kind of lumpy and hard.

Also, we had to contact Angelica for check-in times and she was super accessible, very nice and easy to work with! I would highly recommend this rental!

The description was spot on! Beautiful home, clean, and well stocked with all one's needs. Very quiet surroundings, just what our family needed in a mini vacay. We will definitely book again in the future!

Beautiful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful cabin, a true log cabin in the woods! We loved it here. We could've stayed longer than our two nights. Location is wild and woodsy, great for short hikes. She has a wide variety of books and a nice reading nook upstairs. Spacious and warm, we didn't need anything that wasn't already there. We just brought food and toiletries. Towels, blankets, pots and utensils are all provided. Beds are very comfortable. If looking to go out for breakfast or dinner, go to Timber Cove. Delicious! Not huge menu but excellent. Right down the road.

There were three deer on the driveway as we came up one evening! Just beautiful!

Owner was super nice and emailed quickly for any questions and concerns. Highly recommend if you're staying in the area for more than one night.
