Born in France, I move to Boston at the age of 18 to get my master degree at emerson college in mass communication, then moved to Los Angeles where I had a very successful career in advertising there.
I re-invented myself as an architect/designer at the age of 33 after the company I worked for got sold and at which time I also had a major health issue.
I remodelded and designed many home in the LA area and made a name for myself.
I returned to France in 2009 for work opportunities and to be closer to my aging parents.
I now mostly reside in Paris in what I would easily say as the best location in the city of lights with the most amazing panomaric view of the entire city.
I do travel for work or leasure quite a bit, and use those time where my place is empty to let my fellow American and Canadian enjoy this Jewl I call my Eagle nest.
I still have my property in Los Angeles and also own another home in Chamonix where my parents live which I visit often.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2011
In my early 30's, I was visiting my parents and dining with my parents on a 'bateau mouch' [the river boats on the Seine] when we passed the Louvre Museum and suddenly I saw this unique apartment building, [a Parisian landmark as the Baron de Hausman, the man responsible for the design of Paris lived there [they are almost no living dwellings along the river in Paris as they are mostly public buildings, museums or Governemental buildings] when I saw someone on one of the balconies of one of the top floor apartment, and thought to myself that if I live one day in Paris, that would be the most amazing place to inhabit, and today, this same flat is my home.
Something out of a Hollywood movie...
I can't rave enough about Eric's lovely flat. We loved every bit of the week we spent there, especially watching the sun set on the Eiffel tower from one of the many balconies while sipping a glass of wine. The location is perfectly central—we took the metro only once because were able to walk everywhere else easily. Eric was a fantastic host, we had everything we needed and more. The bed is big, the furnishings comfortable, and I'm so happy we managed to find this place. I only wish I could go back and stay there all over again.
As a Mom traveling on her own with two of her boys I was a bit apprehensive about renting an apartment in a foreign country. From the first communication with Eric I knew I was in great hands. He was very patient in answering all of my questions and went the extra mile to ensure that our trip was AMAZING! The apartment was wonderful and so well located. It was furnished beautifully and the pictures don't do it justice. The kitchen has everything you need. We loved picking up groceries from the local market and boulangerie and having breakfast and coffee in while enjoying the fabulous views. Thank you for helping us create so many cherished memories in Paris Eric, we hope to return.
This apartment is the best one we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect. You can walk to anywhere from there. The views are spectacular. You can see all of Paris from the balconies. The apartment is well equipped and has everything you could want. It is actually so much bigger than it looks in the pictures. We enjoyed staying here and Eric was so accommodating. Do not hesitate to book this place...it is well worth it. Thanks Eric for letting us use your apartment.
It is difficult to think of a better spot to be. The best of Paris is at your finger tips. We spent 4 wonderful nights here. The previous writers have said it all and I only concur.
We spent the month of June in this outstanding apartment, and it’s all we’ve dreamt of since. The views are ASTOUNDING! Truly, just about the only major Paris monument that we COULDN’T see was the Arc de Triomphe. The Louvre down below one of the five balconies is glorious in the extreme. Then there’s Sacré Coeur to the right, and dead ahead are the Eiffel Tower, les Invalides, the Musée Dorsay, St Sulpice, the Mint, the Observatorie, Notre Dame and a million beautiful rooftops in between. And then there’s the RIVER, romantically lined with trees and people, the cruise boats running almost silently up and down beneath our feet. Those balconies may be small, but we pretty much LIVED out there, for meals and for watching the sights roll by, including a couple of parades!
The neighbourhood has two nearby Metro stops that take you anywhere you want to go, but for truly first-rate food shopping and restaurants you have only to walk a few minutes up to the rue St Honoré. We ate several times at the terrific La Régalade just around the corner, and we cooked many of our best meals ever in Eric’s small but completely equipped kitchen. We had everything we needed to really knock ourselves out with some highly ambitious cooking.
While the place sleeps two, we had two guests for a long weekend, and they were perfectly comfortable on the long wide sofas in the living room -- not clumsy fold-outs, just supersize twin beds, really, once you pull the cushions off. They didn’t have much privacy out there, but they had three balconies and thrilling views, and so they couldn’t have been happier. Other friends came just for dinner, and we’re the envy of all who’ve seen this place.
Just entering the building was a joy -- a high-end Hausmannian building in impeccable condition, the very one he lived in, in fact, while renovating Paris with his grand master plan.
Being on the penthouse/attic floor (former maids’ quarters) with a corner exposure, this flat enjoys the most wonderful uplifting cross breezes when all the terraces are open. This gentle breeze enhances the visual pleasure of this flat, making you feel like a bird in flight up there.
Eric is a terrific and concerned host, and he walked us through the place in complete detail so that we were able to feel like we owned the place, right from the start. We’ve found many nice places on HomeAway/VRBO, but nothing like this. My only question is why he hasn’t doubled his prices. We can’t wait to go back.
We spent 3 weeks in Eric's apt/home. It was wonderful. All the location adjectives have been used on prior reviews. The apt is between 2 metro stops so what ever line works best for you it will be very close. The buses run in 4 different directions and the apt is right in the center so no matter which direction your travel takes you you are in the middle. The apt is very private thru a private courtyard. and secure and right in the middle at the same time. Imagine seeing the Eiffel Tower lying on the couch. Eric is most accommodating and will get your stay started in the right direction. WiFi is quite fast if you need to stay in touch. Your breakfast cafe is only an elevator ride away. We will be back
