About Jeff Green

We are a young family who loves to travel with our dogs to the Great Smoky Mountains. When our son was 5 years old, he told us he wanted his own cabin and he named it 'Bars Ubound' (Bears Abound). When we decided to purchase a cabin of our own, we already knew what the name would be!

Jeff Green purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Jeff Green chose Tennessee

We have spent many vacations in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We have been on many frightening drives with tight, bending switchbacks and driveways where we couldn't park on a level surface or safely back out into the street. When we decided to purchase our own cabin, we looked at ton of different cabins in different areas. Our #1 criteria was that the drive to and from the cabin be easily accessible and our #2 criteria was to have a spectacular view. #3 was for it to be big enough for our family, but small enough to be cozy. There were a few properties for sale in The Preserve and as soon as we entered the resort, we knew this was the place we wanted to be. The drive is a little steep in places and we would call it 'medium' in difficulty, but it's definitely not nearly as harrowing as drives to many of the other cabins we've stayed at in the area. The parking is level and easy and the views...... THE VIEWS are absolutely the best we've ever seen! Stay with us and we KNOW you'll love it, too!!

What makes this cabin unique

Bears Abound has a unique blend of breathtaking views in a premier resort with amenities like swimming pool, 24-hour gym and steam room. And it's also pet-friendly.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Cabin was exactly as described and pictured. Communication with Jeff was always answered quickly and efficiently. There was even a bag of dog treats with a "welcome" note for our dog. The wireless at the cabin was very fast. TVs in every room. We will definitely be visiting again.

Great cabin with amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at Bears Abound. The cabin is clean and the views are amazing. The owner is very helpful and quick to respond. The only two bathrooms are attached to the bedrooms which is a downfall if you have people staying in the loft. Other than that I would highly recommend this cabin.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

This was a great cabin! There were 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids) and we had plenty of space. The cabin looks EXACTLY like the pictures online, and has been represented well!!

Pros:

There were 2 king beds, 2 queen beds, a futon, and a pull-out sofa bed.

The kitchen had a large amount of dishes, cups, bowls, flatware.

Everything was extremely clean!

The check-out process was easier than other cabins I've stayed in (didn't have to strip the beds, for example).

The basics we needed (soap, paper towels, trash bags, etc.) were there in the cabin, and there appeared to be enough to maybe get us through our rental time. We ended up using our own, assuming we would need to replenish any way.

Jeff was awesome to work with on booking and communication!

Cons:

There is no closet on the 2nd floor. At all. We didn't expect that, since there is a small closet in the first floor bedroom.

The roads leading to the cabin are exceptionally winding and steep, so just be prepared. Though not the fault of the property owner at all, the roads leading to the resort are not clearly marked on any turns, so you'll have to just stay slow and steady up the hills and be prepared for every turn to be sharp.

We didn't realize this was a part of a "neighborhood" of cabins; so there was really no privacy. The next cabin is about 20 feet away, or across the driveway from you. So, if you are looking for seclusion, this would not be your best option. However - the views are beautiful, if you can look past the other cabins. And you can always go up to the pool area for a better view :)

Also, make sure you heed the warnings about putting your trash in the bear-proof receptacles! Our neighbor had their trash rummaged, and the cans were under the balcony of our cabin when we all woke up!

The cabin was perfect for my family of 8. Everything you need for an amazing weekend. The cabin was cleaned and well stocked. Jeff was amazing and answered all my emails immediately. We will definitely be returning in the spring for a longer stay and bring our furbaby!
