About Jeff Green

We are a young family who loves to travel with our dogs to the Great Smoky Mountains. When our son was 5 years old, he told us he wanted his own cabin and he named it 'Bars Ubound' (Bears Abound). When we decided to purchase a cabin of our own, we already knew what the name would be!

Jeff Green purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Jeff Green chose Tennessee

We have spent many vacations in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We have been on many frightening drives with tight, bending switchbacks and driveways where we couldn't park on a level surface or safely back out into the street. When we decided to purchase our own cabin, we looked at ton of different cabins in different areas. Our #1 criteria was that the drive to and from the cabin be easily accessible and our #2 criteria was to have a spectacular view. #3 was for it to be big enough for our family, but small enough to be cozy. There were a few properties for sale in The Preserve and as soon as we entered the resort, we knew this was the place we wanted to be. The drive is a little steep in places and we would call it 'medium' in difficulty, but it's definitely not nearly as harrowing as drives to many of the other cabins we've stayed at in the area. The parking is level and easy and the views...... THE VIEWS are absolutely the best we've ever seen! Stay with us and we KNOW you'll love it, too!!

What makes this cabin unique

Bears Abound has a unique blend of breathtaking views in a premier resort with amenities like swimming pool, 24-hour gym and steam room. And it's also pet-friendly.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Cabin was exactly as described and pictured. Communication with Jeff was always answered quickly and efficiently. There was even a bag of dog treats with a "welcome" note for our dog. The wireless at the cabin was very fast. TVs in every room. We will definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful cabin up in the hills

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely cabin in a wonderful location. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to provide stellar views and some real peace and quiet. But close enough to head into town for dinner or into the national park for some hiking.

Beautiful view, VERY CLEAN Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Overall, this was a great trip. The cabin was not hard to get to at all for the mountains. It has probably been one of the easiest I have saw and still had a spectacular view. The community pool and hottub was also great! We had 0 issues from day one, til the day we finally, sadly, departed from the cabin. This will go down in the stay again book. Thank you Jeff!

Owner's Response: I don't think it's fair to call the road going to our cabin as "dangerous" unless you are trying to navigate it in a snow- or ice-storm. It is steep at times and windy, but when you compare it to most of the roads in the Gatlinburg area, it is not bad at all. I have stayed at many many different cabins before we bought this one, and this drive is "cake" compared to the vast majority of places we've stayed in the past. People who aren't used to driving in the mountains might find it intimidating, but for guests who are familiar with the area, they tell me the road is "great". It's paved the entire way and is wide (when compared to other roads going to other cabins in the area). For any prospective guest who has questions or concerns, please email me and I will send you some satellite photos to show you the drive. I'd hate for any prospective guest to bypass our great cabin, thinking that they want to avoid a "bad road", and then end up renting a cabin elsewhere with a much worse road.

The cabin was perfect. Jeff was easily accessible when needing information. The cabin was ready two hours early before check in. We will definitely choose this cabin again in the future.
