Room has a pull out couch with memory foam mattress for easy conversion to a 3rd private bedroom.

New Moon Escape is the perfect family rental. Sleeping up to 6 guests affordably on St John with a pool, great yard and many other amenities. AC throughout, Washer and Dryer access, Media Room with Cable TV, WIFI, Full Kitchen, Grill, Beach Chairs and coolers provided, All linens provided. Property offers on site short wooded trail up to a hammock deck as well as a large tiled pool deck.

Fully enjoyed our 6 days at New Moon Escape!

We loved New Moon's location, cleanliness, amenities & it's all-around character and coziness. The property is beautifully landscaped and having the pool & outdoor shower gave us the perfect excuse to lay low, play yahtzee, read excessively & enjoy a down day after being on the go so much. Thank you to Jared for everything- it was all easy & smoothe (except that one "road" called King's Hill. I assure you, it's not a road but we somehow made it. Don't do it. It's a donkey trail, I'm almost positive.) That being said, we loved every bit of our trip & will definitely return.

Owner's Response: Thanks for being such great guests and for the nice words. King Hill road is actually a federal (USA) highway if you can believe it. Makes the road to New Moon Escape seem like a cakewalk. I always warn people not to use GPS to navigate here because it will sometimes send them down that "highway" to get into Coral Bay. Looking forward to seeing you when you come back

Cozy quiet comfort!

If you are looking for a safe, quiet neighborhood home at a good price from which to explore the island look no further! New Moon Escape offered my husband and I a comfortable sleep, near a great breakfast joint (Pickles in Paradise), and we swam or snorkeled all over the place. If you want high end this isn't it, but if you want cozy solitude book New Moon Escape!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. We also think this is a great place to stay and a perfect family home. I suppose the 3 stars was because the home is not high end. This is true, however we know it is clean, well maintained, well furnished and has all of the amenities. We operate and care for this home at the same level that we operate the other homes on St John that we care for, some of which rent for over 10X the price. We believe it is well represented and is always functioning at 100%. Because we recognize this is not high end we have priced it at the appropriate place in the market and do not attempt to advertise it as high end. We do hope you still had a great stay at our lovely place

Peace and Quiet

What a wonderful place to stay! It had a refreshing pool with a deck that had great sunlight. There was a trail that went around the cottage with stops at a quiet area for lounging on a hammock or laying in the sun. The screened in porch was magnificent for morning coffee and keeping bugs at bay. Jarred was a great property manager...we were late arriving (like after dark) and he was still there to greet us. Downtown Coral Bay is just minutes away. Had a great time!

This was our second stay at the New Moon Escape and this time was like the last....great! The drive to the cottage is on a mostly bumpy, pot holed, dirt road, but this road is only a 5 minute drive from the cottage into Coral Bay where there are markets and restaurants.

The cottage itself is very clean and the landscaping is quite beautiful. It is also very quiet and secluded.

From the New Moon Escape, it is a 25 minute drive into Cruz Bay and less than that to some of the North Shore beaches. It is an excellent base for visiting the south shore beaches like Haulover,, Salt Pond and Lameshur Bays where there is some very good snorkeling. In the Salt Pond and Lameshur Bay areas there are also some great hiking trails.

We will definitely be staying at the New Moon Escape again this coming winter.

Great Off-the-beaten-path Oasis

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the New Moon Escape. As we bumped our way down the rocky road in our rental Jeep (absolute necessity), we were not sure what was in store. But once we arrived, we found ourselves in a peaceful oasis. There's a wonderful private hammock set up on its own deck, beautifully landscaped tropical gardens, large and breezy screened in porch, and quaint/functional interior. As a family of four (two teenagers), it was a bit small, but great for the price and it worked for us since we were outside hiking or going to the beach every day. Jared was very easy to work with while planning the trip; he responded quickly and it all went smoothly. We hope to return sometime to St. John and would stay at New Moon again.

Well equipped and peaceful

I have to say that Jared was more than accommodating, promptly responding via email to any questions that we had ( we communicated primarily via email). The house was clean and had everything we needed for our eight day stay. There were ample pots and pans, towels, etc. We liked being able to cook a few meals rather than eating every meal at restaurants.

There was plenty of room for our three member family. Our teenage daughter stayed in the sleeping loft (a separate room with its own doors) and we stayed in the master bedroom. Like most places in St. John, the water comes from the rainwater run off. This property had a huge cistern and we never had any issues with enough water even wi three showers and washing dishes.

The pool was small (compared to our rather large pool) but cool and refreshing. The beds were comfortable and the a/c worked quite well. We stayed in early July and only really used the bedroom a/c for sleeping. He cool breezes were enough the rest of the time. The screened in porch was also a cool place to sit and relax.

You will definitely need a four wheel drive vehicle for this property. It's in "la la land", which is really what it says on the map, a road that is only partially paved with huge pot holes. It's not a problem at all if you expect it and go slow. It was well worth this drive for the peace and quite of his property. It is also well manicured. When we return to the island, we will likely try to stay here again.

It's only twenty minutes into town and only a few minutes to LoveCity Market and Skinny Legs.

New Moon Escape is located in a lush surrounding, just under one mile from the coast. Perfect for bird-watching by day and stargazing at night. From the villa you can easily access the Virgin Islands National Park. Nearby White sand beaches, hiking and water sports such as sailing, snorkeling, diving and just plain laying on the beach. Coral Bay is just under one mile away, with many shops, restaurants, bars and access to an array of adventurous activities. The still-pristine island of St. John is the smallest of the three U.S. Virgin Islands and lies just 3 miles east of St. Thomas and a mile from the nearest of the British Virgin Islands. Nearly two-thirds of the island is national park, with forests and nature trails for your enjoyment. Nature lovers will be amazed by St. John's ecological diversity.
