About Alessandra B N
I was born in Venice, and I have spent most of my life in Venice. Over time I have noticed how the city has changed—how it has adapted itself to the new demands of modernity, in its own particular fashion. Since 2011 I leave the city often, and every time I return to Venice I feel as if I’ve lost my bearings. I seem to find myself in a halfway state, between someone who’s spent his childhood in a place and delighted in its spirit, and someone who feels from time to time like a mere observer in that place. I believe both outsiders and Venetians can share the same emotions before the unique beauty of the city. Feeling the same sensations, I cannot help but adhere to a common vision—true, passionate, gratifying, and grateful for a culture that has marked Western history. At heart, any foreigner who really loves Venice is also a Venetian. I love nature and culture, both global and local. I believe in sharing, learning, exchanging and respecting. I’m very energetic and active. I love photography, and I’m especially passionate about traveling.

Why Alessandra B N chose San Polo
Because Venice is the best city in the world! If you are looking for arts, relaxation, comfort and excellent food, it is an excellent choice for short and long visits.
What makes this Apartment unique
Venice is one of the most interesting and romantic cities in the entire world, known as “La Serenissima" or the Most Serene, it has been captivating its visitors for hundreds of years. Ancient buildings never looked as romantic as in Venice, where centuries-old “palazzi" are reflected in this city's plentiful canals. Venice, the world's only pedestrian city, is best enjoyed by walking. The absence of car traffic makes this the perfect way to experience what Venice has to offer. As a city that cherishes its food, the famous Rialto Market is a delicious way to experience the Venice dining scene. Particularly known as a fish market, the Rialto Market also offers plenty of fresh vegetables and fruit for sale, too. Visitors may stroll through the market, window-shopping or simply point to what they want to purchase—friendly vendors will bag it up. The Rialto Bridge, near the Rialto Market, contains a row of restaurants with tables by the canal, offering a true Venice dining experience by the city's canal lights. First-time visitors may at first be surprised that the main way of getting around Venice is on foot. It is not a large city, and it is quite possible to walk from one end to the other in an hour. In fact, one of the many joys of visiting Venice is simply walking through its traffic-free streets and alleyways, catching sight of the canals as you cross the characteristic Venetian bridges. The only other way of getting around is by boat, and for everyday travel you will generally use the vaporetto and motoscafo water buses. Water taxis are more expensive - in fact, probably the most expensive taxis in the world - but are very fast and are able to take you along back routes that offer an alternative view of the city. Gondolas are hardly a practical way of getting from A to B, but will take you on the most romantic of journeys along almost any canal in Venice.

San Polo is the smallest of the six “sestieri" of Venice, covering 86 acres (35 hectares) along the Grand Canal. It is one of the oldest parts of the city, having been settled before the ninth century, when it, together with San Marco, formed part of the Realtine Islands. The “sestiere" is named for the Church of San Polo. The district has been the site of Venice's main market since 1097, it has been connected to the eastern bank of the Grande Canal by the Rialto bridge since the thirteenth century. The western part of the quarter is now known for its churches, while the eastern part, sometimes just called the Rialto, is known for its palaces and smaller houses. Attractions in San Polo include the Rialto Bridge, the Church of San Giacomo di Rialto (according to legend the oldest in the city), the Campo San Polo, the House of Goldoni, the Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, the Church of San Rocco and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. You'll love San Polo district! You can enjoy your breakfast at one of the many typical bars and restaurants. We also recommend sitting in the square in the late afternoon watching all the children playing and observing the way venetians live. We invite you to visit the church - one of the oldest in the town - where there are paintings by Veronese and Lotto. The Natural History Museum and the Modern Art Museum are both a 2-minute walk. Rialto fresh food market and Rialto Bridge are only 5 minute away, and from there you can reach San Marco square within a 10-minute lovely walk.
