Spent new years weekend with another couple and our kids at this wonderful house. The house is cozy, open and beautiful. Barbara is a great manager and readily available for any questions both before and during our stay. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is great and the entire space is relaxing and wonderful. The hot tub outdoors is a great addition. We sat by the fireplace reading books and watching movies throughout the weekend. Everyone had a great time and i look forward to going back in the future. There is a full supermarket about a 10 minute drive away. I highly recommend this house.
I definitely recommend this cottage and would return to have another enjoyable experience.
My family and I stayed here to celebrate my husbands 40th. The house was easy to find, though very secluded and a little scary of a drive in the dark with unlit roads but it made it feel like a real retreat. We brought our 10 month old daughter and the house was child friendly though the deck had a precariously secured umbrella-it was too cold to be outside anyway. We stayed in the Master which is on the main level and it is not quiet. You can hear drawers closing from the kitchen like the wall is paper thin. I also have a very loud family...maybe using the upstairs bedroom would have been better. We enjoyed the open concept which you dont get a sense of from the photos and with the high ceilings the house felt both large and cozy at the same time. The kitchen was nice though the gas on the stove was not working so we had to use a lighter each time we needed the stove top, which was a lot-we like to cook. One complaint there is that some of the utensils could have been cleaner-I had to wash everything in the jar next to the stove before we could use it. The pool table was great, a nice bonus. The hot tub was so nice but it took several hours for it to heat up. It started around 80 degrees around 2p and around 10p was finally up to 100. It was great to sit out under the stars with no one around-you can see just 2 houses from the back deck and they are miles away. The door to the back deck off the kitchen was nearly impossible to open and close, very loud and it seemed again, as if the entire wall was paper thin and would shake upon opening and closing. The only other thing was that we walked in the house to discover a dead mouse-fine enough when you consider you are in the middle of the woods- however the mouse wasn't just dead, it looked as if it had been ravaged and torn apart then left under the couch, the blood had congealed...so I can't think what or who would have been in the house to do that, and if it was a person, why they just left it there for us to find. All in all, we had a really great time. The house provided a great backdrop for our celebration.
We rented this property for Memorial Day weekend with another family--4 adults, 4 young children. The house was spacious, well furnished, and in great shape, with a great stereo, well equipped kitchen, and great decorative touches. The property was serene--quiet and beautiful. We sipped beers in the hot tub overlooking the mountains in the evening, and then played pool in the basement at night. Barbara was very responsive as well, providing firewood for us before our arrival for a cold evening. Highly recommended!
This was a great place to stay, with total privacy, beautiful views, and modern amenities, including a steam room/shower, hot tub on the deck, Viking range, wine cellar, etc. Barbara, the property manager, is right up the road and always available. Overall, a great place to stay in a great location! We hiked for about 6 hours one day; coming back to a steam room and hot tub overlooking the mountains was so relaxing. In the morning, having coffee on the deck, while listening to the birds singing and woodpeckers pecking really got the city out of our system. The only discomfort was that some of the doors to the outside did not have locks, which might freak you out after watching a scary movie :-)
We had a fabulous weekend in this gorgeous updated home! The amenities and decorative choices are top of the line, and the views from any given spot in the house are truly spectacular !! The hot tub, billboards table, and Viking kitchen appliances were my personal favorite :)
We vacationed as a group of adults (couples). The Master bedroom was amazing but the other rooms were directly next to each other upstairs, which was something we didn't know before arriving. It's a totally fine setup for families though! Just not that much privacy for couples.
Awesome stay though regardless! Would love to go back!
