WOW!! This place was amazing!!

I just returned from Miami Beach, and staying here was definitely the highlight! The location was perfect, and the unit itself was large and very clean. The deck was incredible, and the views of South Beach and downtown Miami were spectacular (just as Jim said!) No need for a rental car, everything you will need is within walking distance. The property is part of the Gansevoort Hotel, so there is access to 2 pools, both of which were fantastic. Beach access was perfect, this building is right on South Beach! Did I mention the view from the deck?? Jim went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, helping out with a last minute reservation change, and giving us advice on where to go and what to do. I think this will likely become an annual place for us to visit, my family and I really enjoyed this place. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone, and Jim was really accomodating and helpful! Thanks again!

The Best, Hands Down!!!

Amazing, fit for a King and his Queen !

Over the past years, my family and I have visited South Beach and always looked for a family friendly and quality stays. The description and quality of this condo does not do it justice. Immediately, upon entering, we were struck with the view of the beach and ocean reflecting from the entire mirror wall in the great room. The moment we entered we were astonished as to the beauty, furnishings, and the amazing ocean view of the entire South Beach from (get this) our private 40 foot balcony, the views are just spectacular and at night relaxing with a good wine, the lights of the Miami skyline with the moon reflecting from the ocean, well to see is to believe. The entire condo flooring is in white marble. The master bedroom area and master bath is gigantic, the bath shower has 8 side jets with overhead rain shower, trimmed in again, white marble. The entire master suite is surrounded in a Bose surround stereo system with a 65 inch smart screen. The great room also has a Bose surround system on a 75 inch flat screen. The guest bedroom has a 55 inch smart screen, both my son and his wife were extremely impressed and enjoyed the comfort of their private bedroom. The owner and his management were always eager to make us feel special throughout our stay, no matter what the request.

The proximity of a variety of restaurants, grocery shopping, convenience stores as Walgreens (directly across the street) entertainment, ocean frontage, and beautiful pool areas were and are a blessing. Minutes away from Lincoln Ave and Ocean Drive via walking was another perk that we loved for our late night walks. We did the Everglade Airboat tours and the Key West tour. There are many tour stations very close on Lincoln Ave where we could pick a variety of tours and excursions, we chose a few since our days were so filled with shopping, swimming, walking, and finally cocktails whenever. This condo was everything that was stated and absolutely nothing was spared as to quality and beauty, even all blinds are push button powered, oh ya, did we forget to mention the wine bars and internet stations, high speed wifi, if so please forgive, also spectacular.

For our future vacations, this condo sets the bar extremely high, where all others will be graded by our stay in this condo we called home. Our only regret, we had to leave back to civilization, our dream will be to return to this special condo, our family called home, year after year.

Terrible Stay!

DO NOT sign a contract with the owner of this apartment. The owner will request that you not hold him responsible for any problems that arise. He misled us with the Homeaway photos and descriptions. We rented the apartment in good faith, but what we found on arrival was the following: Workman arrived each morning from Mon thru Fri on the balcony around 8:00am and started jack hammering and drilling etc. until 6:00 PM. The noise was deafening - any type of conversation was just not possible. We had to leave the apartment each day when workmen arrived and not return until after 6:00 pm. There was concrete dust all over everything, and the blinds needed to be closed all the time, making the apartment dark and dank. The owner’s representative never met us with the keys as planned and when we called to connect, he said he had left the door to the apartment unlocked for our arrival. The reason was probably because the keys never worked in the lock. We had to find a locksmith to work on them. Neither the owner nor his representative would respond to our request to remedy the situation. The smoke detector was beeping constantly and since no one responded to our phone calls and requests to replace the battery, we removed it.

The shower doors in the master bedroom did not slide properly, the carriers and guides appeared to be damaged and did not function properly.It was dangerous getting in and out of the shower as the glass door would fall in towards the tub 5. The elevator passkeys were not available for a day or two, even though

The owner said they would be there. The pools were virtually unusable - dusty, dirty, falling debris, etc. When we went to pick up passes the front office said they were offering anyone who used the pool earplugs. Needless to say, we never saw anyone in the pool. All the above issues were never made clear. We were embarrassed for our guests that we had invited. The apartment did not at all meet any of advertising. The owner lied to AmEx when we asked to have the cost of the apartment disputed and refused to negotiate with us even after he admitted on the phone that he was not completely aware that jackhammering was being done on our balcony, and would not have rented the condo if he had known. I would never treat my customers in the manner that this owner did. And certainly would never agree to sign a contract with this man again. Shame on him!

Owner's Response: As for the negative reviewer, over the many years, we have had guests from all over the world. At various times we have had the misfortune to book individuals that disrespect the condo, create disturbances, and cons, of which this reviewer was. Prior to her booking, our office had no less then 5 personal phone conversations in addition to 4 e mails. and was fully informed 5 months prior to her stay, was sent information as to the construction as all our guests are. She was given a drastic discount for the inconvience, as all our guests received during this time, and accepted all conditions of the on going renovations of the resort. After her lenghty vacation, there was no complaint to our office or to our manager during this parties stay. She enjoyed all the fully supplied condo, all the wifi, all the flat screen tv's, all the pools, all the hot tubs, free valet service, pool towels at the ocean and resort, paid phone service. Only after her vacating and sneaking in 4 additional individuals, our manager confronted the party about the condition of the condo. They were very disrespectful, and deductions were made for damages. Weeks went by, before our office was contacted by this party. She stated they wanted damage monies back or would place a bad review. Of course we declined and will not be subjected to black mail. Over all, we have had great families and guests we remember as friends, as for this type of individuals, there is nothing that can be done, only just to forget the bad. Remenber, owners have nothing to do with any construction at this time, we can only inform, it is up to the guests to accept the conditions and to enjoy being in South Beach. As the Resort continues to totally upgrade all areas, the Roney Palace will be a premire destination in South Beach. With 4 new ocean front pools, 3 beautiful levels leading to the beach, night clubs on beach level, restaurants on sight, shopping, $ 240,000,000.00 being invested. In addition our condo has the largest balcony in the resort, 40 foot long, 300 total sq feet, over looking the entire South Beach ocean all the way to South Point. The condo have new balcony sliders, new windows and completely re-decorated. But when you accept guest from all over the world, chances are, an owner might regretably accept an undiserable vacationeer which was our misfortune. Our past great families and guests that continue to book our condo year after year, truly outway any single bad experience. As always my best

June 2012 at the Roney

My wife, myself and another couple from Texas were guests at unit 1107 in June 2012. Jim the owner and Joe the property manager on site were all fantastic and easy to deal with. This was our SECOND Homeaway experience and it was the second glowing success.

We arrived to find our access passes at the front desk under our name. We had to make an extra trip to the property office to register our car into the valet, but that was super easy and the valet was TOP NOTCH. Very quick! This location is super easy to get to off 195 and also 395 through a little traffic. About a miles walk from Lincoln Road which is loaded with KILLER restaurants. Food is very pricey in SOBE but it's WORTH IT because it's all so good.

The unit was SUPER clean when we arrived. It's BETTER than advertised! The views are awesome, neighbors are non-existent and you can really enjoy yourself in this unit. All the amenities we needed were there. Internet, THREE flat screens, a great stereo - though no 1/8" jack input for ipods so bring a 1/8"-to-RCA (red/white) cord if you want to jack in to the stereo. We did!

The master bedroom is HUGE HUGE HUGE with a private bath and twin pullout. The second bedroom is pretty small with a queen and private bath. The kitchen, dining and living room are HUGE and GORGEOUS. Queen pullout in living room and the sofa is GIGANTIC with a nice chaise lounge. The AC works perfectly and hot water lasts forever. Ice maker is a little slow - but Walgreens across the street has EVERYTHING.

We had 9 friends in the unit over the weekend and it was a great party location. We only slept 5 at any given time and there were PLENTY of extra linens / pillows and tons of closet space. This unit easily handles 6 if not 7-8 for sleeping.

The beach, hot tub and 2 pools were awesome. A little noisy at the Perry hotel pool as they are renovating, but still gorgeous. Couldn't hear any noise in the unit. The beach is right outside the pool gate and the sand is so smooth and silky! Chair rentals are only $8 if you say you are at the Roney.

If you like to club, club Mokai across the street was really fun on Saturday night. We got there 11pm and were the first ones in - left around 130am when it got busy with lines down the block. It was small but VERY well done, awesome lighting and great music.

Overall we TOTALLY recommend this unit for so many reasons. Don't hesitate. It rocks!

El departamento tiene una vista al mar magnífica. El edificio muy bien ubicado, podíamos ir a Lincoln Road caminando, una Walgreens al frente que está abierta las 24 horas (muy importante cuando vas con un bebe). El condominio tiene 2 piletas espectaculares, se nota que el hotel que comparte las instalaciones (Gansevoort) es de categoría. La atención de James fue excelente, siempre respondió nuestros mails y estuvo a disposición para cualquier consulta. Volvería al Roney sin duda!
