About Britt or Gloria Kelley

We are longtime residents of Asheville. We sold our businesses and home in Asheville back in 2001 and moved to Costa Rica where we lived until 2012, when we built a house again in Asheville. We once again live here to be near grandchildren and family.

Britt or Gloria Kelley purchased this house in 2014

Why Britt or Gloria Kelley chose Asheville Area

The Creekside cottage was built to be a vacation rental and with 'green' building techniques. We spared nothing in making it comfortable and think it is a wonderful location, 5 minuted to downtown Asheville.

What makes this house unique

Brand new and green built!

Beautiful house with gorgeous flowers and gardens

  • 5 of 5

This house was a perfect place to stay in Asheville. It is close to downtown yet you feel like you are in the country. It was well equipped with supplies, bedding, kitchen equipment. The house has a fantastic layout. Very open and with the skylights and huge windows in the bedrooms, it is very bright. The screened in porch is a plus! The grounds around the house are beautiful.

Beautiful property in an excellent location.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for most of April. It is very comfortable and spacious with 2 king master suites. Everything you need is here and is first class including the bedding with high thread-count soft sheets (we slept great). For us one of the little niceties was the slow-closing toilet seats. Doesn’t sound like much, but it is appreciated in the middle of the night. Many windows on three sides for fresh air and a hammock on the screened porch. Check the VRBO description for a complete list of all the amenities. You should only need to bring your clothes and the food you wish to prepare.

Great location on a mostly quiet street, lots of trees and birds. During our stay, one evening a mama bear with 3 little cubs came down the hill and checked out the neighborhood for a while, so might be a good place for bear watching.

Various activities and shopping are close by; groceries (Ingles, Fresh Market, Trader Joes), local library, downtown (farmers market on Saturday mornings), bird watching, walking/running at Beaver Lake, local and fast food establishments (Marcos Pizza, Whit’s Frozen Yogurt, and Plant for vegans), etc.

Being on the north side of Asheville, it is a short drive to Weaverville home of Stoney Knob Cafe, another good local eatery.

For hiking we drove to the Hard Times trail in the Lake Powhatan area on the west side of Asheville. This is also good for mountain biking. The trail takes you into and out of the Arboretum. Along with access to many trails, Asheville has several bicycle shops where you can rent bikes, including one cycle shop close by.

Although this house is not especially close to the Biltmore, it doesn’t take long to drive there.

Britt and Gloria are great to work with and quickly responded to our few questions.

This might be the best place to stay in Asheville, recommend it to anyone with a party of four or less.

Outstanding property!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our recent visit to Asheville that was made perfect by our choice of "this home away from home". Beautifully appointed, well stocked, and conviently located it was everything as advertised and more. Especially enjoyed the two master bedroom setup, so important when traveling as two couples. Only disappointment was because of the time of year we weren't able to use the porch or enjoy the yard. Our lose but defineltly a reason to return. Thank you Britt and Gloria for setting the gold standard on a VRBO property.

Christmas in Asheville

  • 5 of 5

We just spent the most wonderful weekend in Asheville and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creekside Cottage.

This is a rental gem. Very well appointed and beautifully decorated. The house even had Christmas decorations

complete with a tree, which made it even more special. We invited friends who had never been to this area before

and were so impressed with the house, they said they will definitely be coming back, as will we! Thank you for

such comfortable accommodations. M/M G. Mathias
