About Michael Webber
Michael grew up in Eagle and actually grew up on this lake further down the bay. He knows all of the secrets of the area from great hikes and biking to fishing and skiing. Let him know what you are looking for, and he will certainly have ideas for you!
Michael Webber purchased this Cottage in 1993
Why Michael Webber chose Mukwonago
We recently renovated this property for a great family destination. Many of our friends have asked to use it over weekends with their families, prompting us to open it up to the market. In our opinion, being situated up on the hill, it has the best views of the entire lake. It is as peaceful or as active as you need it to be.
What makes this Cottage unique
The house overlooks the wetland area that feeds into Lake Lu Lu. The other side of the lake is used for skiing and boating. We are 10 miles from the Kettle Moraine State Park and 20 miles from Lake Geneva.

Cute cottage with beautiful views
Convenient place to stay after attending a wedding at Kettle Morraine Ranch. Cute cottage with beautiful views to wake up to.
Great view, charming buildings, needs some TLC
Extremely cute “throw-back” style lake cabin. The cabin has a lot of charm. And, we truly enjoyed ourselves despite some misses by the cabin’s owners. Although the cabin is really cute, the owners could dramatically improve the experience if they:
Touched up the paint and made small repairs. The cabin was remodeled some time ago and the walls, furniture etc. all show wear/tear and detract from the impression of the cabin. For example, nearly all furniture had missing paint, there was a hole in ceiling that appeared to be plugged by towel, the glass door in bathroom was completely missing.
Paid attention to small things. There were no towels laid out in the bathrooms. And, although bath towels and washcloths were in the main bathroom closet, hand towels were non-existent as were dish cloths and kitchen towels (non-existent). Master bedroom only had 1 non-decorative/secondary pillow (the type most people put the matching pillowcase on). In other words although there were 4 other pillows on the bed which was nice (2 over-sized and 2 with decorative shams), only 1 actually had a pillowcase on it – odd for a queen bed.
Provide cabin “instructions”. Although there was a binder with rules, there wasn’t any documentation that let us know how lights and other equipment worked. For example, we couldn’t figure out how the living room lamps were powered (tried EVERY switch). We couldn’t figure out the lights in the cabana. We couldn’t figure out how to get the water to work in the cabana.
De-cluttered non-used items. Both internal and external there were random unused items (extra trim boards, power washer, wet/dry vac, etc.).
Clean in closer proximity to arrival. Although there is a significant cleaning fee passed on to rentals, it wasn’t apparent that recent cleaning took place especially as it relates to the external spaces (e.g. patio table appeared to not having been wiped down in quite some time). Patio seating all had tree debris that looked like it had been there all season which was reinforced by dead leaves (from the Fall) under all the chairs. It really felt like we were paying for the next renter to have a more clean experience than we received.
Provide some “working” recreational equipment. Although the owner was nice enough to let us use their canoe and kayak, there was only 1 somewhat functional canoe paddle and we had to use a broken kayak paddle as a second canoe paddle.
Nice property, perfect size for our family of 4 and our 3 dogs.
We enjoyed our stay at Michael's lake house. Thankful that the property was so dog friendly. We hung around the property the first day enjoying ourselves. The second day we drove to Lake Geneva and had a great time.
Thank you again Michael for sharing your lake home so that we could make some memories!
It Was Just OK
Decent location and cottage but I wouldn't stay here again. Not a lot of effort put into the property to make it welcoming. Things could have been done to make it a better stay.
Property is up for sale now so maybe that has something to do with it.
The home is now off the market and will remain a Homeaway rental so we will be mindful to leave wonderful care packages for all guests.
Thanks for staying with us.
Perfect getaway in Wisconsin!
Love, love, love this home. It was a wonderful place to spend President's Day weekend. With temperatures way above normal we were able to sit outside and enjoy the furniture on the deck, enjoy time down by the lake and go for walks around the neighborhood all without a jacket on in mid February. What luck! The home itself is decorated tastefully with wonderful modern updates. It offers great amenities and lots of little "extras" to make your stay comfortable. The bedrooms are a nice size and are situated beautifully to allow for comfort. We didn't use the guest house, but could see what a great space that would be in the warmer months. Michael, the owner, was great to work with. Very attentive and has an eye for detail. Even leaves you a gift basket with snacks and a bottle of wine to enjoy. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and tea as well as things like a frozen pizza to help you enjoy your stay even more. We had dinner both nights in Mukwonago at 2 very delicious spots and loved the drive in and out of town. We also spent time in Kettle Moraine State Park which was a short drive from the house. Overall, we had the perfect weekend and a lot of that had to do with our stay in this home. We will recommend this location to all of our friends and family and hope to book again in the near future!
A perfect gem!
This cozy lake house was just what I needed for a peaceful and relaxing vacation! It had all the amenities needed for a weeklong stay and provided the perfect location for exploring south eastern WI. Michael was very responsive and easy to work with. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!
Eagle spring Lake is connected to Lake Lu Lu through the navigable waterway that can be viewed straight off the deck. Lake Lu Lu is a spring fed lake with a large sand beach. It is surrounded by DNR and Nature Conservancy lands and is not accessible by road. The Cabana offers great views of the lake and has a fire pit is located by the waterfront with natural log seating. We are 10 miles from the Lower Kettle Moraine state forest. Many biking and hiking trails as well as horse back riding opportunities are near by.
