A log home with elegance and class. The home was designed and built by the owners, It offers unparallelled views from ever window and deck in the home. The Great room has open beams and tongue and groove ceilings with huge windows that face Grand Canyon and the Kaibab Plateau.

The home has three levels with bedrooms on each one. The loft which over looks the great room has two queen size beds and a bathroom with shower and two vanities. A true balcony open to the North for a majestic view of the Vermilion Cliffs, especially at day break. The master bedroom is on the main floor, A spacious bedroom, plus a smaller one and another bathroom are on the ground floor. This floor is has a walkout to the fenced lawn and driveway. This is our primary access to the house. The kitchen is modern full stocked, with a Jen-air range in the island counter, so that while cooking one can be 'with' the group. The main bathroom has a 'jacuzzi' type tub and front loading washer and dryer.

The home has a 30 ' long deck that has a view of nearly 100 miles From the Majestic Vermilion Cliffs to the Grand Canyon. You will love watching the sundown shadows climb the Vermilion Cliffs.

This is our home. We designed, built and nurtured it for 25 years. We think you will appreciate the 'homey' atmosphere that is here. It is not a commercially acquired property.

You have the world to yourself, The nearest neighbors are hardly visible from the home.

Thanks for your interest. We hope you enjoy your stay. The Tomtom gps address is 892 W Vermilion Drive, Kanab, UT.

A fantastic house with everything a large group could need. Close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here from 6-13-17 to 6-20-17. What a wonderful large log cabin with everything a large family of 8 needed. Went to Zion, the wave, grand canyon, coral sand dunes and many local trails and Best Friends. All close by. This is the perfect house to return to and play games outside, grill and watch the wildlife in the yard. Humming birds just off the deck and rabbits and roadrunners just south of the deck. The sun rise in the morning on the deck with a cup of coffee and listening to the water fall in front of the house is spectacular. Cant say enough about how great this house is. Will be back for sure. Thanks for sharing this house. Dave

Centrally located to many attractions with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Rustic Elegance because it was a great retreat after many days of traveling to nearby attractions. There was plenty of room for our group of five and we were surprised by how many things there were to do right neat Kanab. Not only did we travel to Zion, Bryce and Lake Powell, but we had amazing adventures to Coral Pink Sand Dunes, a great hike on the Toadstool Trail and a grand adventure on an ATV to Slot Canyon/Peek-a-boo Canyon, Hidden Lake and Indian Petroglyphs through Kanab Tour Company. We will never forget our active and breathtaking adventures!

Not Just a "Cottage", Truly a Home. A Comfortable, Lived-in Ambience

  • 5 of 5

Cliffrose Cottage in Kanab is not just a cottage; it is truly a home. A log structure that rambles over 3 stories, it has a pleasant, lived-in ambience. The kitchen is well-equipped with cooking utensils and spices. The two bedrooms on the main floor and the loft are spacious and comfortable. Perched on a desert hillside frequented by rabbits and coyotes, the "cottage" has a large, second-floor deck where we especially enjoyed sipping our morning coffee and from where we had a splendid, panoramic view of the surrounding red sandstone cliffs and the town of Kanab nestled in the valley. We were in the country, yet downtown Kanab was less than a 10-minute drive away. There is some fine dining in Kanab. In particular, the Sego Restaurant and the Peek-a-Boo Cafe can easily hold their own in any culinary competition with big-city restaurants.

We used Cliffrose Cottage as a base to explore the Kanab area, Bryce Canyon National Park - about a 1.5-hour drive to the north - and Zion National Park which is approximately 1 hour away by car to the west. An unusual treat was cycling along the excellent bike path from Inspiration Point in Bryce Canyon National Park to Red Canyon in the Dixie National Forest. Another adrenaline-inducing ride was from near the Kolob Reservoir in Zion National Park downhill to Virgin, UT. A third cycling adventure was mountain-biking on the excellent JEM Trails near the hamlet of Virgin. The Riverside Hike to the upper reaches of Zion Canyon was also worthwhile. Finally, we especially enjoyed our regular rendezvous with a herd of mountain sheep who were feeding on the scarce vegetation embedded in the slickrock just off the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. One word of caution: Avoid driving back to Kanab from Zion at night. Deer are frequently grazing along the edge of the road and will sometimes bound into the headlights.

In addition to spending time in Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks (and environs), we also visited Pink Coral Sand Dunes State Park and the Just Friends Animal Sanctuary near Kanab. Although we had 7 nights at Cliffrose Cottage, our regret is that we did not do more in the immediate Kanab area. The Vermilion Cliffs National Monument is spectacular and is readily accessible from Kanab. Perhaps another time….

Comfortable Home in a Beautiful Town

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I (six in total) stayed at this beautiful home while visiting Zion National Park. The house was spacious and comfortable, with room to easily sleep more people. Having three full bathrooms is also convenient when everyone needs to shower after a day of hiking. We found everything we needed to cook a few meals at the house, and the grocery store is only a 5 minute drive away. While we were expecting to spend most of our time in the stunning Zion National Park, we realized that Kanab itself is a picturesque town with some great hiking and so we spent a full day hiking right in town. One hike is even accessible by a short walk from the house. While we didn't have any children, the house looks like it is set up to accommodate them. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
