Luna Mar LLC
About Luna Mar LLC
We visited the property for the first time in April of 2014. We immediately fell in love with the Villa, the staff, and the setting. After researching other Villas in Los Ranchos, and in the surrounding area, we determined that Luna Mar was where we needed to be. We closed on the property at the end of July, looking forward to years of memories with family and friends. After considerable research and advice from other owners in the area, it became clear that an occupied house is better than allowing it to be empty in our absence -- for the staff and for the facilities. Given our own experience there, we decided to continue offering the property for lifetime experiences.
Luna Mar LLC purchased this Villa in 2014
Why Luna Mar LLC chose Punta de Mita
The staff. The architecture. The setting. We have been fortunate to travel the world, and have never found a place as tranquil and private as this while still having such spectacular natural resources.
What makes this Villa unique
It is an exceptionally private Villa, with ready access to innumerable sporting and entertainment activities. You have complete control on the degree of privacy or access. Either is easy to accomplish, depending on your mood or intention on any given day.

The house staff is as friendly as the views are breathtaking! They made our stay effortless and memorable! The cooling system for the pool was an especially welcome treat as the weather was quite warm during our may visit. We loved lounging poolside with our expertly made tropical drinks and I would have to say the food and the jet skis we're truly hard to say goodbye to.
Top Tier Service, Incredible Food
Travel: The staff at luna Mar picked us up at the airport, brought us into town on request, and coordinated activities outside of the villa. We did not have to worry about transportation/logistics for any part of the trip!
Food: The staff set the table beautifully (even coordinated the napkins and decorations with the meal). All allergies and food preferences were accommodated (vegetarian)! I could tell that all the elements of each meal were prepared fresh. We opted for Mexican style cuisine and asked to be surprised at each meal. Standouts for me were: chilaquiles, homemade salsa verde, mushroom pasta, mahi mahi with green sauce, key lime pie, handmade tortillas. I normally experience digestive issues but because the food was so fresh and made from scratch, my stomach didn't bother me at all!
Service: Outstanding. Ismael is a professional bartender who can make any drink and even treated us to a strawberry mojito that he created himself! The staff went out of their way to ensure that we did not have to lift a finger. The staff who cleaned the rooms were absolute ninjas and timed the cleaning when we were out. Laundry was done same day within ~6 hours. There is not a single thing I think they could have done better-- the staff are true professionals. Also I found Ismael especially to be friendly and patient with my utter lack of Spanish.
Venue: I am moderately germaphobic. The villa is extraordinarily clean. No dust, no dirt in any corner, so I was able to fully relax here. There is a short path around the house that you can walk through that has some beautiful vegetation. Even though there are multiple properties along this coast, you can't hear or see anything from the houses next door so you have full privacy.
Overall: If I could afford to come back here every year or twice a year I would. I don't have any complaints or even suggestions for improvement because it was so perfect. (Also whoever chooses the art has GREAT taste; I loved all the paintings in the house.)
Fantastic experience with lovely hosts!
This was my second trip to Luna Mar. I already had high expectations based off my last trip several years ago, but once again I was blown away by the hospitality and services provided. The place is sparkling clean, the food is always fantastic (Berta made dinners that I still dream about!) and the staff sees to your every comfort. Whether you want to spend the majority of your stay relaxing by the pool, getting massages and enjoying the views or you'd like to have a more adventurous time snorkeling and zip-lining, Luna Mar will provide everything you need and more!
first class in every way
It was our dream vacation and we will be returning. The staff and property is first class. Food was out of this world. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner could not have been better. Private beach is best I have experienced. Plenty of space to get away and read a book or socialize. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a first class, no hassle experience.
Amazing Property and Location!
This vacation rental is fantastic. Each room on the property is unique and has a great view of the ocean. The pool and pool area is clean and well-kept and there are plenty of places to sit, relax, eat, and take in the amazing view. You are literally steps away from the ocean and have a private beach so whether you want to float in the pool or go for a swim, you are always satisfied.
The service was great. The staff are welcoming and take care of your every need from food and drink delivery to turn down service. There is plenty to do in Punta Mita, but honestly, you'll never want to leave the villa.
Fabulous home, amazing staff, endless activities!
The house is amazingly beautiful and you can't beat the view! The amazing staff really made us feel welcomed and cared for. Dinner tables were set in different locations every day and we couldn't wait to see how the staff would come up with next! And Berta's cooking is AMAZING! I wish I could have her quesadillas and guacamole everyday!
Even though we went during the middle of July, the air conditioned rooms and refreshing pool made it easy to escape the heat--along with the healthy supply of iced drinks from Francisco!
During our 4 night stay, we did so many fun activities including:
-Massages by the beach
I would highly recommend all of these activities as each one was more memorable than the last! However, if you're not the adventurous sort, there's no need to leave the luxurious property. There's always something fun to do, even if it's doing nothing at all!
Golfers and Tennis Players: Punta Mita Resort (available to our guests) has two 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses, and there are numerous other golf courses in the area. The resort also has a tennis pro and multiple courts available to our guests.
Shoppers: Downtown Puerto Vallarta has great shopping, but it is best to tie it to a day trip, as it is about 40 minutes into town. However, that works because there are many other interesting things for non-shoppers, too. There is a boardwalk with restaurants, bars, shops and galleries. While there are much closer luxury shops at the resort hotels (St. Regis and Four Seasons) and interesting shopping in Punta Mita Village, both 5 minutes away, we enjoy going out a bit further to local villages nearby. Sayulita, for example, is 15 minutes away and is a quaint little town chock full of art galleries, local craft shops, clothes shopping and more. It also has a public beach area great for surfing and paddle boarding with good restaurants on and off the beach (try Don Pedro, which has Salsa night on Mondays).
Surfers: Surfers havens are found throughout Punta Mita.
SCUBA divers: Take a group excursion from Punta Mita, or better yet, allow the staff to arrange a private pick-up on the beach at the Villa. Owner is a certified diver and enjoys diving near the Marietas Islands National Park, a 10-minute boat ride from the Villa beach.
Snorklers: There is a reef 60 yards out from the Villa beach that has great snorkeling. Diving for oysters or lobsters is fun there (the owner does it with local divers, who the staff could arrange to guide you). Also, there are many other snorkeling opportunities throughout Banderas Bay, including the Marietas Islands noted above.
1. Sayulita Village (noted above).
2. Take a panga (or water taxi) from the Villa private beach to the water-access-only village of Quimixto to find a serene beach surrounded by boulders, perfect for snorkelers, as well as Yelapa, the largest remote beach..
3. Old Town Puerto Vallarta. Shopping (noted above), tourist strolling, restaurants of all calibers, galleries, museums, water sports, etc. You can easily put together a full day trip to PV that can satisfy the preferences of all ages and genders!
On the water: Combine a trip to Marietas Islands with a SCUBA or snorkeling activity, or with a fishing trip.
