About George

Fran and I are both in the aviation industry, and plan on spending more time down here when we retire. We have kids and grandkids that love to come down here and enjoy Nana and Pops beach house.

George purchased this cottage in 2010

Why George chose Florida Panhandle

George had to work down here several years ago, and we fell in love with the beautiful views, slow pace, and friendly atmosphere. We live in Atlanta and try to get down here every long weekend that we can. Now we have our own place right here on the beach that we would like to share with 'Yall'.

What makes this cottage unique

First and formost you will enjoy the view. You can wake up or fall asleep listening to the waves and actually see the water from bed that is less than 100 yards away. Then you will enjoy the fun, friendly, slower paced atmosphere of Mexico Beach. We love morning walks, and sunset strolls on the beach. There are several beach pubs and resturants that are within walking distance, or short ride. You can fish right on the beach in front of the house, go down to the pier, or go out for a 1/2 or full day fishing charter. Or you can go for a bike ride around Mexico Beach. (Bike, fishing polls, beach chairs and umbrellas are all furinshed with the cottage.) Within 30 minutes you can be in Appalacheecola bay, Cape Sand Blas, or Panama City. Scalloping is also fun when in season. You can also enjoy some of the worlds best oysters in this area.

George, we enjoyed staying at your home so much! The house was so inviting! Clean and well maintained and everything we could possibly need! And the views.... as a person waiting for knee surgery I enjoyed being able to access the beach and also sit on the porch enjoying that fabulous view! We had perfect weather and the town is fantastic! The food and friendliness is amazing! We especially enjoyed meeting your neighbors. Thanks so much for opening your home to us. We can't wait until we can do it all over again! Much love!

One of my most relaxing vacations

  • 5 of 5

This property is located in a very quite neighborhood and the people are very friendly. From our sun room we have experienced the most beautiful sunsets of any place in the world. We also enjoyed dolphin along the coastline. This was our 4th stay and we enjoyed it so much we are booked for another one. I highly recommend this property for a very relaxing vacation. Great spot! The beach was amazing and the location couldn't have been more convenient. The sunroom provides direct views of the water and was the perfect start and end to the day.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time,,the house and location were awesome. It was our first time in Mexico Beach. Our 18 & 20 year old children preferred it over our usual vacation spot at Panama City Beach! After we check our schedules we"ll probably book next years trip!

Owner's Response: We are so glad that y'all had a great time....it says a lot on how you raised your kids. Preferring the tranquil, laid back atmosphere of Mexico Beach over the amusement parks, traffic, and hustle and bustle of Panama city....it is all still there to visit with in 30 or 40 minutes of Mexico beach, so relaxing to stay in Mexico Beach.

Just like home

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very nice with a short walk to the beach. The fishing cart made it easy to transport toys and towels to the beach. Well equipped kitchen that made cooking meals easy. Our family of four had a very pleasant stay.
