Nice apartment. Trailside. Separate entry/parking. Great views - watch the auroras. Quiet & secluded yet close to town. A good to place to relax after a hard day's play! Safe place for children and pets to play. Backs to a park. The alaska dream!
The apartment is in a very nice neighborhood of anchorage - stuckagain heights. Houses are spread out ( 1 acre lots) and the area is treed. It has 360 degree views of the inlet, denali, city lights and mountains. Turn off tudor (a main artery) onto campbell strip rd by the botanical gardens, and travel 4 miles through the forested far west bicentennial park to the secluded neighborhood. There are no cross roads - only trailheads. It is a beautiful drive - yet still in anchorage! Easy access to all anchorage, and alaska has to offer!
The apartment is 1350 square feet, with two rooms. The bedroom has a king size bed, tv, dressers, desk, night stands and large closet. The large 'great room' has a desk, full kitchen with breakfast bar, filtered water/ice from the full side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove and pantry. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking (e.G. Pots, pans, bake ware, coffee pot, silverware, dishes, blender, mixer, crockpot, etc.). There is kitchen table, couch, loveseat, chair, queen size sofa sleeper and desk, large tv. An additional full size bed can be added, if needed. There is a full sized washer & dryer and 3/4 bathroom (shower). Dish tv and internet.
The guest have their own patio and access to the back yard - hike, cross country ski and ride bikes from the property. There are many trailheads along the road and the military lands are available to hike on, however a pass is needed. These trails do not get the use other anchorage trails do - most of the times you will not see anyone else.
Please remember that there are bear, moose, lynx and other wildlife in the area.

Couldn't ask for more, beautiful home, fantastic location and a wonderful host. My family and I throughly enjoyed our visit to Alaska and having a comfortable and spacious place to stay was a big part of it. With 3 kids between the ages of 9-14 it's easy for everyone to get underfoot in a standard hotel room. However, not here. Plenty of space with a full kitchen for breakfast and anything else you might want.
Great house in a fabulous location. Owners went over and above to make us feel comfortable! We will definitely be back!
Well kept and equipped lower level unit. The drive up and the neighborhood is spectacular.
Respect the speed limit for there are many moose including a very tiny and wobbly newborn. Popular trails to be hiked along the road. The botanic garden is interesting and well done too.
Though it seems far out of town it was a quick 15 minute drive to our son's home near UAA.
Amazing birds too.
Perfect place to stay in anchorage
Perfect location close to the city but in quiet neighborhood on mountain with sweeping views. Close to lots of great trails. Apartment was updated and comfortable with private yard in addition. The owners were wonderful and very attentive. Would highly recommend staying here.
Great location, well equipped apartment.
Ronni and her husband Sean were great hosts. They are very friendly and happy to offer advice for Anchorage and the surrounding areas. They used to live in Homer, so they are very familiar with the Kenai Peninsula as well. Despite being outgoing and friendly, they also very much respect your space and privacy. The level of interaction is completely up to you. But don't be shy - they are happy to invite up to their main house to enjoy the views from their third story deck! Can't beat sweeping views of Anchorage, the Cook Inlet, and even Denali (aka Mt McKinley). If you are there in the winter, the northern lights are also a good possibility!
The house is located near the Campbell Tract area and is surrounded by Chugach State Park. There are hiking trails and views every direction you look. The apartment is located downstairs of the owner's main house, but was quiet and private. The apartment has everything you would need for an extended stay (I was there for two months after a job transfer from California to Anchorage). The kitchen is very well equipped and the apartment includes full washer and dryer for laundry. You have a small private yard fully furnished with outdoor furniture and a gas grill. Everything was clean and well kept. Satellite TV and wireless internet were fast and readily available.
The only thing to be aware of is that you are about 20 minutes from most activities in Anchorage (i.e., downtown and midtown are about a 20 minute drive). But the views and the easy trail access more than make up for this (who comes to Alaska to hang out in a city, anyway?!). The Universities (UAA and APU) are closer - probably 15 minutes or less. Similarly, JBER (the local military base) is a relatively short drive, so convenient if you are visiting family there.
Overall I highly recommend Ronni's property. I will absolutely recommend this to family and friends and would definitely stay with Ronni again if I were traveling to Anchorage.
Very quiet and clean
Remote location was perfect. Home owner was extremely friendly. Perfect for our three nights in Alaska
Close enough for easy access to all the anchorage has to offer, yet in a quiet, safe neighborhood.
