About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-6)

Are you looking for a clean, airy, comfortable, creekside cabin that's the perfect location for the best adventures the Appalachian Mountains have to offer? That describes A DOGWOOD COVE CABIN! From spring's dogwoods to the fall colors, anytime is a wonderful time to visit! After a day of exploring a hidden cove or spending time on a trail, your cozy mountain retreat will be waiting for you. The cabin is all there is on 18 wooded acres. Since we have only one cabin, while you're our guest your comfort and enjoyment is our highest priority. The cabin is outfitted with everything you might need. All you need to bring is your suitcase and groceries!

It's private, yet only a few minutes from the Nantahala River, Lake Fontana, the Appalachian Trail, horseback riding, the famous Tsali mountain bike trails and renowned fishing streams and rivers. Other activities within a 25 mile radius include the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, trout farms, and much more. On the other end of the activity spectrum, a quiet day spent reading on the futon on the large screened-in porch is a favorite of many of our guests. Also on the porch is a picnic table; a wonderful setting for birdwatching, enjoying a meal or writing notes to friends back home. Sitting outside in the yard while grilling fresh trout, visiting, or just playing Frisbee can leave you wondering where the time has gone!

Here is a sampling of comments from our guest books...

* 'It's so peaceful and serene. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this lovely place with us!'

* 'We are so appreciative of all the comforts of home. We love listening to the frogs and crickets at night. We picked blackberries down the road and made a cobbler. It's so nice to get away from our hectic lifestyles. It's been awesome.'

* 'What a private, beautiful location. We enjoyed knowing we weren't just in a house...but a home!' 'We had a great time! We were here for ten days and it wasn't long enough!'

* 'It was a perfect mountain getaway for our busy family of five. A Dogwood Cove Cabin is private, secluded and quiet yet near a lot of the recreational areas... It is also very clean and neat, which meant a lot since we had a toddler. We hope to be back to this cozy home away from home in the spring.'

Perfect family getaway!

Our family loved this mountain weekend getaway! The house was the perfect fit for our family of 4, 2 grandparents, and 2 beagles! The kitchen was very well outfitted with all the necessities. We will definitely make a return trip!

Just right! Clean, quiet, close to everything but secluded place to make home base.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 celebrated Thanksgiving at Dogwood Cove and enjoyed every minute. The huge porch is a great place to gather, the fire pit is great and the entire cabin was a great fit for us - simple, secluded, pet friendly and priced right! The owners were very hospitable. Dogwood Cove Cabin was added to our list of things for which to give thanks.

Quiet and secluded with easy access to everywhere!

  • 5 of 5

This property was neat as a pin and clean as could be. It was also more spacious than I expected. The screened porch is huge and awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, but we also enjoyed the fact that we were within a short drive to everywhere we wanted to be. The only thing I could see as a drawback is the size of the one bathroom. If you require lots of bathroom space (I don't!), this might not be the place for you. Enjoyed meeting Janet and loved the place and the location enough to stay there again. Hope it will be soon!

The place was easy to get to, and close to Bryson City, Murphy ,Fontana lake and the park. The screened in porch was a great place to sit and read. The place was very clean and I will go back.

The cabin was perfect. It also was stocked with everything we forgot to pack, which made our stay effortless. I could not have asked for a more perfect stay.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review, Brian. We too have forgotten to bring things when while staying away from home so we've taken care to have the cabin well equipped. We're glad you and your friends were able to enjoy the eclipse here in Swain County! Hopefully we'll see you back down here in North Carolina again!
