We stayed the week of July 23 thru 31 and had a wonderful time! Our only complaint would be the poor lighting in the upstairs bath (difficult to see in the shower,) and the non-working ceiling fan in the loft. Franesa and her husband Bill, along with their children, were there to greet us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the home and property. The house is exactly as pictured and very well stocked.( I would recommend bringing coffee mugs though as the cups supplied are quite small.) It is a short drive to town, golf and the racetrack. We stayed with a group of longtime friends and made use of the home as if it were our own. We had all but one of our meals there and thoroughly enjoyed the large dining table and outside deck area. The kayaks were also put to good use as the weather was beautiful and warm. The lake was a quiet haven for relaxing and enjoying each others company. We are looking forward to next year hoping to return to this comfortable and cozy home. Thank you Franesa and Bill for sharing your lovely home with us!!
My husband, 20 month old daughter, and parents had a wonderful stay here. The lake access includes both a dock (which was too dangerous for my daughter to hang out on) and a tiny "beach" (which is where she played). There were kayaks down at the dock, and the lake is just big enough for a nice ride around on the kayaks. There's not much food nearby so we had to hit the grocery story in Milton, which is twenty minutes away, a couple times. The house itself is comfortable and well kept. There's no a/c but the mountain air was cool at night even on the hot week we visited. My daughter had a great time playing in the yard (there was a small plastic slide) and in the kids' bedrooms in the house, which are stocked with toys. The owners were friendly and responsive to the one request we gave them during our stay. There's no cell service but there is an internet signal and a house phone.
We only stayed for a 2 day weekend but the house was nice and location was excellent. Quiet, isolated area just a short drive outside Saratoga, NY. Had all the amenities needed to cook/grill and spend a weekend in the woods near a lake.
I just stayed here with a group of 6 girls for a bachelorette party. The house was beautiful as well as the lake. We really enjoyed our time. The only thing I would add is that downtown Saratoga a little over 20 minutes away not 15 (our ride was a more like 25 minutes because they were working on the bridge and there was a detour), but the cabs covered the area so it all worked out.
The owner was very nice and the private dock was a HUGE bonus! I would recommend this house without hesitation!
Thanks again Bill and Franesa :)
There is not enough time to write enough about this place! We were greeted by the owner who showed us the home and made us very welcome. This was certainly a stay where I felt we were at home. The kitchen was full stocked. The beds were made and ready for us to enjoy after a long drive. The home was beautifully appointed and very easily accessible for my mother who cannot scale steps. The lake was a very short walk and we enjoyed all the amenities such as the kayaks and the swimming. Our family would love to return to this beautiful retreat. We were so happy that my nephew's wedding brought us here!
Our family spent a four day weekend at this Lodge at the Lake during my daughters Graduation from Skidmore College. This is how we felt about it:
1.) The owners were super nice and really easy to deal with. Bill met us at the house to go over everything. He knew we were late for a dinner appointment so he reassured us we should call if we had any additional questions or problems. If there had been any problems I am sure they would have addressed it immediately because they are not far from the house.
2.) The house looks exactly like the way it shows in the pictures, a beautifully decorated Lake Lodge. The house was clean and organized and had anything we needed.
3.) There were a lot of fun things to do for family fun; fishing, kayaking, hiking, games, reading. The TV worked fine as well as the wifi. We were really busy with our daughters Graduation festivities but would love to come back someday to enjoy all of that!
4,) The house is about 15- 20 minutes away from Saratoga Springs where there are so many wonderful restaurants, bars and stores.
1.) Not the best cellular service at the house but they had a land line phone.
I will say that if you're looking for an immaculate, perfect 5 star hotel environment, this is not the place for you. This feels more like you are staying at a friend's beautiful summer lodge on the lake.
