Danielle K. brought a male stripper into our very upscale Inn suite against policy. We took the dog out at Midnight(we live on property) and caught her and group throwing a male stripper party. The next day we confronted her by emailing and asking her to stop by our house. We spoke to her and told her we found it offensive and disrespectful, a poor choice on her part and not allowed by policy but we would allow her and group to stay the final day. The conditions were, we were to inspect suite for damage. We arranged to do so when she told us she would be at "spa" and out of suite. We also told her we did not allow free visitor parking, which she continued to let her friends use.
There was more, but the bottom line is Danielle K. from Brooklyn/NYC area who is under age limit of 25 for renting at our inn, is not responsible. As an owner you do not want her to book your place unless you don't care about managing your rules. We have about 1% of our guests who are not good renters. Her mother, Sybil k. sent us a spam/flaming email after I contacted Danielle asking her if she really wanted to post her negative review because I would have to then write what she did. I thought it was pretty vendictive and another bad decision to Break the rules, be disrespectful to the owners and then have the nerve to write a horrible review and give a 1 star rating amidst our 5 star, well earned reviews. Not the kind of person you want to do business with. she never apologized.
We really enjoyed staying here and look forward to coming back. This former carriage house was converted into a luxury apartment and they did a wonderful job on the remodel and with the decor. The property is perfectly situated in the heart of Charleston and we walked everywhere. Great shopping and dining just a few blocks away. The owner-Richard is a great host and made certain we were happy.
Great spot close to downtown. Looks just like the photos, decorated beautifully and very modern & clean
My wife and I celebrated her 30th birthday in Charleston. A friend recommended us to stay at City Centre (Mod Suite). Every part of our stay was perfect. The suite was amazing. Very nice and very clean. It was perfect for us. Also having a free parking spot was great. Not having to worry about parking on the street is one less stress. The location is probably the best part of City Centre. We literally parked the car and didn't get back into it, until we left. You can walk everywhere!! The owners were great as well. Rick greeted us right when we arrived. He is a very knowledgeable and nice guy and if you need anything at all, he or his wife are there to help. When we come back to Charleston, we will definitely stay at City Centre again.
The owners have done a fantastic job in the restoration and reinvention of the property. The old carriage house/Mod suite is the perfect place for a relaxing and romantic getaway.
Parked the car when we arrived and didn't touch it again til the day we left. Can walk to any place within minutes.
Will definitely stay here again.
We loved our stay in the Mary Scott Suite!
The suite is a history lovers delight -- beautiful period pieces and lovely decor enhance the light filled spaces. High ceilings and plentiful windows lend an airy and open feel, while the newly redone bathroom is an absolutely stunning retreat, painstakingly crafted to retain precious historical touches.
The piazza? Ah, the lovely piazza. We so enjoyed lounging here after walking ALL over town. The chaises longue and the hammock are only too inviting to put one's feet up and simply relax.
This lovely suite is in what we would consider to be the loveliest historic area of downtown, and truly within walking distance of everything.
Glenda, Rick and Sully were charming hosts, and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else upon our return to this lovely city.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Mod Suite! We LOVED the shower! We celebrated our 10th anniversary here and are planning to return. The City was beautiful, the location was perfect, we could walk to practically everything. We did take a trip (short drive) to Johns' Island to see the Angel Oak Tree. Great experience there. The Mod Suite was neat and stylish. The bed was comfortable. The host, Glenda, met us upon our arrival and gave us a ton of tips and saved us from going to a place that had recently gone down in ratings. She helped us with directions and short cuts and great places to go eat. We were not disturbed at all during our stay. It was a very romantic, adult getaway that we loved and will cherish!! Thank you Glenda & Rick!!
