The adobe wing of the Heart and Wings Retreat Center has a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed, Mexican rug, hand-painted chest, and a twin sleigh bed.
The foyer includes a queen-sized sofa bed, Mexican rugs and Mexican mirror.
If guests use both the large bedroom and the sleeper sofa in the foyer to sleep, the people in the large bedroom will need to walk through the foyer, past whomever is sleeping on the sofa there to access the bathroom.
The bathroom has twin Mexican sinks and Mexican tiles. The dining room is surrounded by mountain views.
Guests have shared use of the hot tub.
You can regularly see deer, rabbits and quail out the bedroom window.
The location is convenient to downtown Silver City as well as the Gila National Forest. The Continental Divide Trail is a ten-minute drive away. The highway is a five-minute drive away, and it takes ten minutes to drive to the center of town.
You can hike and bike straight out the front door.
I grew up in Chicago and began my career in New York, but when I got a taste of the country, I never moved back. I spent 25 years in Maine. Then the New Mexican sunshine beckoned.
My interests are music and the healing arts. I'm an interfaith minister who has performed weddings on this land. I've recorded 4 CDs. Three of them are of original songs. My music is lyric-driven, and that dictates the style. Some songs are folk, others pop, rock, blues, country and jazz. Most recently, I've composed a meditative CD of prosperity chants in the Sufi tradition. My songwriting is currently aimed at supporting causes I care about.
On the healing front, I'm passionate about helping people get out of their own way so they can make the changes they want to see in themselves and the world.
I have a created a technique called Heart Lightning transformational coaching that quickly removes mental and emotional blocks in as little as one session. I prefer to combine this work with an astrology reading and shamanic healing. I also teach yoga. I'm happy to offer any of these services to guests.
I share the house with two wonderful dogs who keep me so entertained I've forgotten how to use the remote control.
I'm an introvert, but I love getting to know people and helping them in any way I can.

Silver City has a perfect year-round climate. This property is spacious and quiet, yet conveniently located to town and to natural attractions. Apaches used to live on this land, and we've found arrowheads on the grounds.
I could spend forever looking out the window at the mountains and wildlife. All the animals you see on this listing were photographed through the bedroom windows.
The town of Silver City is full of art galleries, and world class restaurants. The cliff dwellings are the main tourist attraction, and the drive there is spectacular. The Gila Forest is full of beautiful hiking trails including the Continental Divide Trail. The Gila hot springs are definitely worth a soak. City of Rocks has beautiful formations.
