About Azaima Anderson

I'm a total introvert, but I love getting to know people and doing what I can for them.

I grew up in Chicago and started my professional life in big cities. Then I moved to Maine and fell in love with a simpler country life.

The western sun beckoned and I moved to Silver City. This town has the perfect combination of nature and community.

My work integrates music and healing. I am a performing songwriter who is currently driven to compose music to serve causes and uplift the spirit. I've released four CDs.

I'm an interfaith minister and have married people on this property. My healing work includes shamanism, astrology, yoga and a technique I designed called Heart Lightning Transformational Coaching that quickly removes mental and emotional blocks in as little as one session.

I am fortunate to share my home with a couple of shelter dogs who adopted me.

Azaima Anderson purchased this lodge in 2006

Why Azaima Anderson chose New Mexico

I love its natural setting. You can hike or bike straight out of the front door. The views are lovely. The setting is quiet. The weather is perfect all year. The property is spacious and private.

What makes this lodge unique

The rooms are sunny, and climate-controlled, so you can be comfortable in all seasons. You'll have as much privacy as you'd like, but are welcome to enjoy the dogs or take advantage of my healing services.

Cozy place with great view

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here and it was only a short drive to town for the amazing blues festival. Everything was as described and very comfortable. The layout lacked a little privacy when the downstairs renters used the hot tub entrance door.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good stay. So sorry about the privacy interruption. I'll ask my house sitter to put signs on all the doors indicating where the rental units begin and end, and also ask him to make it clear how to get to the hot tub without infringing on someone else's space. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, which will make future guests have a better experience.

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

Everything worked fine here for us! Its on the edge of town - not too close and not too far away. Good views. Good space. Two bedrooms were nice with "visiting" chairs in one for a sense of living room. Would stay there again.

Cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came for a weekend excursion to visit the Gila Cliff Dwellings and Catwalk. We stayed for the weekend and we enjoyed our stay here. The quietness and scenery that surrounded us was great. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The amenities it provided was perfect for our stay. Our host, Azaima, was very friendly and inviting, not to mention very knowledgeable of the area. We definitely recommend to others and will be back again. Thank you for a great weekend.

Breath taking views of the mountains from the deck and every window.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful mountain setting. The views are phenomenal from every window. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watched the storms in the distance. We saw deer on the property every day we were there. Very cozy and clean. I was surprised at how short of a distance from downtown Silver City we were. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful views. You wake up to spectacular views every morning.

  • 5 of 5

The rooms were very comfortable and roomy for our short stay. The outside deck was welcoming each morning, so that I could drink my coffee with a view. The kitchen was stocked with needed items and utencils. The welcoming from the dogs was a bonus since my dog was left behind. I would love to return again.

The Gila cliff dwellings are the main attraction, a spectacular drive away. On the same drive, you can check out the Gila hot springs and the Gila River that still runs wild here, despite efforts to divert it. The City of Rocks state park has some beautiful and unique formations. The Silver City museum will give you an idea of the town's history, in which Billy the Kid figures prominently.
