Disconnect in our modern yet rustic Catskills cabin vacation rental nestled by a seasonal stream in the woods of Rock Valley in the Upper Delaware River area of Upstate New York on 7 private acres, 2.5 hr from NYC, 2hr GWB.
Cool off by the seasonal marble pool, light the fireplace or fire-pits at night under the stars. Marble finishes on the pool, fireplace, bathroom & kitchen give it a hint of luxury. Room for 4 w/ bath, 1 private queen bed & 1 open loft (semi-private) queen bed.
Lofted ceilings and panoramic windows to enjoy scenic views all over the house. One private queen bedroom with a second open loft style queen bedroom.
Includes Nespresso Coffee Maker and pods, Bluetooth radio & speaker, DirecTV cable with HBO, WiFi, landline, and wood for burning.
In the summer: sit by the marble pool, make S'mores by the two fire-pits, have a shady nap in the hammock, BBQ on the propane grill, smoke meat in the smoker or take a walk around the property - you might see a deer or wild turkeys bopping around. A seasonal stream runs right next to the property - hear it from the upstairs bedroom.
In the fall: watch the leaves change driving on the winding roads of The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway Route 28 that connects Long Eddy to Callicoon. Light fires in the fire pits or fireplace, cook up a storm and keep warm under the stars.
In the winter: cozy up by the marble fireplace, make the place extra warm with the wood-burning stove, watch movies on DirecTV, relax by the window and watch the wildlife with a Nespresso coffee, we'll provide the pods.
You'll have the whole cabin to yourself.
Currently, the basement is unfinished - but if you're not weary of a little grit, you're welcome to access the laundry room with a washer, dryer and refrigerator, a half bathroom & queen bedroom. With the help from guest stays we'll continue to renovate this part of the space.
Cell service is sparse here, unless you have Verizon. WiFi and a land line are available for guests. Take this stay as your opportunity and excuse to really disconnect. That 'sorry i'm traveling with no access to email' out of office response will work wonders here.
We won't bother you at all, but are available if you have any questions.
Other Things To Note:
Seasonal pool open from Memorial Day - end of September. Heated pool available for an extra fee, send a message if you’re interested.
We stay at the cabin often too, so send a message if the dates you’d like are unavailable, we may be able to accommodate you.
If you're into winding river lined roads, wildlife, picturesque scenic views and hardly anyone on the road - this place is for you. Lots of deer bopping around here.
The immediate neighborhood where this cabin is located (locals call it Rock Valley) is secluded and very quiet. If you're into shotgun shooting, upland bird hunting or sporting clays the Castkill Pheasantry is just a few minutes away.
Located on the border of Sullivan and Delaware county, You'll be 18-20 minutes drive away from two very unique towns:
Callicoon - hipster heaven with restaurants, bars, vintage shops, Sunday farmers market and a grocery store. Grab a movie at the vintage style Callicoon Theater. Coffee, pastries & some of the best light food you'll have anywhere in the Catskills at Adella Dori Cafe.
Roscoe - Trout Town USA! The ultimate fly fishing town.
Also near Jeffersonville (30 mins), Livingston Manor (35m), Bethel Woods (50 min) and the new Resorts World Casino Hotel in Monticello (60min).
Check the guidebook for 25+ places within an hours drive to visit during your stay.
Fun fact: A ton of digital content for Hudson Whiskey was shot here in ‘17.
You'll definitely want a car for this trip, and in the winter (while the roads are plowed consistently) one with 4WD/AWD drive to take on the winding back roads on your way up to the cabin. Pop the address in your GPS before you lose cell services in the area leading up to the cabin.
