Cozy and secluded

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our stay. Have a few things I thought the owner might want to know about. These are not complaints but an FYI. There are large logs that would have to be split. When trying to split one, the mallet came off the handle. The ping pong table is a good one, but no balls, and neither TV was working. Otherwise we had a great weekend!! Thanks for sharing your home.

Cozy Cabin, Perfect for Group of Friends

  • 5 of 5

Our group loved this property. The multi-levels allowed us to be close to our friends and still maintain some sense of privacy. It was close to town, very secluded and the porch was amazing! We spent more time out on the screened in porch than inside. If you a looking for a fun mountain getaway with easy access to Highlands and rafting guide companies, I highly recommend this cabin. Make sure to plan ahead to get into town for groceries or restaurants before too late, as a lot of things seem to close up early between 7-9p. The grocery store in town closed before we could get there but were able to get essentials at The Market and their "take and bake" pizza was great!

Awesome Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This house is absolutely fabulous! One of the best places I have stayed. Very tranquil. Plenty of wildlife to engage nature lovers. Beautiful cabin, everything you would want or need for a relaxing getaway. Very clean and great linens. We loved cooking on the Wolfe range and the wine refrigerator got a lot of use from us! This would be a great house for a large family reunion or three couples with children - three floors - bedrooms/baths on each - two family rooms - but, our favorite place in the house was the screened in porch with the fireplace. Spent many hours there just reading some of their good books and listening to nature. Definitely was not ready to come back to the rat race!! The owner very communicative and helpful - as well as the caretaker - made it a point to make sure we had everything we needed. The owner did tell us that phone coverage was not the best and not to depend on that for GPS - strange in that is it in the mountains - so we just printed the directions before we left home and were glad we did! Had no problem finding it. We loved it so much we have already booked in November and bringing more friends with us!!!

Great lifelong family memories!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time. The cabin was perfect for my family. The whole family, from my 94 year old grandmother to my 6 year old granddaughter, spent the week together. With all three floors, everyone had their own space. We loved the porch! The weather was perfect. We didn't even have to cut the heat on but one day. Everyone played ping pong. We had a fire in the fire pit on New Years Eve. It rained a couple of days, but with all of the tables, we all each could join in our favorite card games. The only thing we had to purchase was a non-stick skillet because we ate all but lunch at the cabin each day. I hope the trash was still in tact when the caretaker came to take it away. We had to pick it up each morning inside the fence. We are assuming it was raccoons that made a nightly visit. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We made lots of great family memories.

Nice house nice owners but some details not attended to by rental manager

  • 4 of 5

It's a beautiful home on a nice bit of land (with a lot of bears wandering in the yard so pet owners and parents beware, we saw tracks of a 500+ pound bear only a yard from the house ). Very nice accomodations for multiple families as the basement is almost a separate apartment as is the top floor, the owner was quite friendly and quick in her responses to our rental inquiry as well. However, their rental management company is not keeping the house stocked. There was no toilet paper. There were no trash bags. There was no coffee, not even a jar of instant. There was no fast lighting kindling or newspapers provided for their beautiful fireplace on the porch, only recently cut wet wood that wouldn't stay lit (and we had to haul that in from the barn ourselves, really?). There were also broken glass shards on the main floor bathroom's floor from where someone dropped something and did not mop up afterwards. Very nice home and a lovely woodland escape, just not stocked as properly as it should have been. Would rent again but next time will ensure that the basics are stocked in the home before arrival.
