THIS CABIN IS A GREAT SECLUDED RELAXING GET-A-WAY!!!!
****Pond water level varies depending on the time of year and the amount of rainfall****
My husband and I built this cabin for our family to have a place to relax and get away from it all. We decided to start renting it to let others share in the same experience. My husband says we built this cabin like the Johnny Cash song 'One Piece At A Time'. It took several years to complete the project but we finally did and it was well worth it. I know your family will enjoy it as much as ours.
We love to go and get away from it all. This cabin is a great place for you to reconnect with your family. The deck is a great place to have converstions, enjoy the scenery, and admire the water and sometimes hear a fish splash. In the winter you can enjoy the large fireplace in the cabin or build your own fire in the ourdoor firepit. We love to build a fire outdoors and all sit around sharing stories and roasting marshmallows. We also love to play cards so there has been alot of card games played there already. It's a great place to bring your family to enjoy being together and letting them discover the simple and relaxing country life.
Everytime we visit the cabin one of our favorite things to do is visit Glover River. It is about 2 miles from the cabin. It is the last free flowing river in Oklahoma and was voted one of the top 10 most beautiful places to visit in Oklahoma. My kids and now my grandson loves to throw rocks in the river. It is a great place to have a picnic, also just sitting and listening to the water flowing down the river is very relaxing. It is definitely worth a trip while you are visiting.
Our favorite moments were seeing the wildlife, watching the sunrise and sunset, taking a hike by the river, playing board games and the fireplace. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with my family. We hope to return again some day soon.
I'm writing this review as I sit on the spacious back deck of the Lazy J Hideaway. I drove up from Texas with my family and my In-Laws flew in from Florida for the 4th of July weekend. This is truly one of the best kept secrets in the Broken Bow area. Having stayed here for 6-days I can honestly say I didn't know I could feel so relaxed. We were surrounded by all the beauty that only nature provides. With the added bonus of no traffic noise, no neighbors, and no distractions for that matter. I think this is the closest my family has ever felt to one another. Probably due in part to us being completely alone.
Without a doubt Shari the owner will go above and beyond to ensure your stay goes well. The cabin is far more spacious than the pictures provide. The beds are just amazing... as my wife suffers back problems and loved them. And the area outside is fantastic for large groups.
The only very minor negative we found was that the pond was low (like 4-5 feet below what the pictures show online). I only write this because there is a positive to this. The pond level can't be helped... It's summer and there hasn't been any rain for awhile. But don't let this discourage you like I initially was when I pulled up to the cabin. Why? Because we still caught over 100 fish in the 6-days we were here. We just used the old worm, sinker, bobber rig. Threw it in by the marsh and wham! Fish hit it within 15-20 seconds. We caught so many small mouth bass, crappie, blue gill and trout that we felt like professional fisherman (:
In the end we loved this place and have already talked about coming back to the area during the spring or fall. If this place is available to rent. I suggest you book it fast. Like I'm serious. Don't keep looking... BOOK IT NOW! It's totally worth it! Thanks again Shari!!!
The cabin is Beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. The owners are very generous with all the "extras" like towels. paper towel and toilet tissue , even a crock pot!!, which doesn't sound like a big deal, but if you have stayed in other VRBO's you get where I'm coming from. The back covered patio Deck is Awesome and that Gas Grill!! We used it every night we were there. Special place for bonfire(smores anyone?) was a nice touch. and the horseshoe pit added an extra fun thing to do, in addition to the board games the offer for inside play.. If you want a Nice, Quiet, Secluded Getaway this is your kinda place. If you want to throw some fun outside activities in, as I understand it, they are close. We just stayed at the cabin and relaxed the entire time..very peaceful.
Met at the cabin with siblings and their spouses and couldn't have asked for anything better. The cabin itself is beautiful and superbly furnished. Beds are very comfortable. In fact I haven't slept that well in a long time. The sounds of nature and the stars are amazing when you're away from civilization. It was hard to leave when the time came.
My family has stayed in a lot of rental places and this one by far was the cleanest and the owners have thought of everything! We brought our crock pot not thinking they would have one, but they even had that. We had a wonderful relaxing time and it is simply beautiful.
It was a few of my friends and our kiddos it's so secluded and peaceful the kids fished and played! We made smores at the firepit and enjoyed morning coffee on the fabulous deck! The beds are super comfy the place is sooooo clean! I literally wanted to cry when it was time to leave we will definitely go back ASAP!!!!!
The pictures do not do this place justice. It is so cute and so nice; it has everything you need to feel like you are in a country cabin, and enough for VERY modern luxe needs. Kitchen is great (especially stove) and very well equipped. When we visit places usually I need to bring extra spices for cooking or extra trash bags and paper towel rolls, but this cabin had it all. The fire pit, smoker, horseshoes and fishing pier made the boys feel manly all weekend. I think the deer are on the payroll because we saw them every morning. I am a uptown girl and went with country boys, and everyone was happy; this is my first review to write because it was that amazing. Stay here, trust me!
