We love San Francisco and are thrilled to offer a taste of our city with our guests -with a local perspective. We have our own technology consulting practice, parent two boys, and teach yoga. We adore the outdoors and travel, and relish in great food, wine and sunsets. Living in this town offers a little of everything to everyone, and it's always an adventure to see what is new.
nicole b purchased this apartment in 2002
Favorite SF restaurants, gourmet and weekly farmers markets, and fun shopping are just outside the door. We are also just a block from public transportation leading to downtown, Union Square, cable cars and more shopping. Zip Car and City Car Share pods nearby. And there is also the Wiggle (a dedicated bikeroute which is the 'flattest' way to get across town) for those who wish to bike.
The appartment is spacious, clean and has all the amenities for a stay in San Francisco. NIcole, our host was friendly and it was easy and pleasant to communicate with her. The location of her appartment is perfect - a walk or a bus ride to vibrant Hayes Valley and a walk (or flat run) to the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park. And being right in the middle of San Francisco it is easy to get to all of the sights and different areas of the city by a variety of means of transport. Around the corner on Desidero are restaurants, coffee shops and everything one needs for supplies. This is a great place to stay.
We stayed for two months and felt completely at home.
Nicole and Phil ' s apartment provided a lovely and well - appointed place to experience San Francisco like natives. The photos don't do the flat justice since it's even prettier in person. The property was very clean and we'll - maintained. We especially appreciated the opportunity to be able to host family and friends for dinner in the flat, while being close to restaurants on other nights. We enjoyed La Urbana for dinner and also Falletti 's Market for light grocery shopping which were both within walking distance. Nicole even pointed out the yoga mat which was available to us. My only caution is that the parking space is rather tight and is best suited for a compact car or smaller. All in all a great property in the city and we look forward to returning when we visit our daughter again.
Nicole's apartment is a beautiful and clean as the pictures depict. We flew up during a storm and were able to keep in close contact as the airline flights kept changing the arrival time.
The beds were so comfortable we ordered the mattress while were still there for our house. The neighborhood s filled with interesting restaurants and shops and the MUNI light rail stop is just blocks away.
We had a great visit and look forward to returning soon.
If you're an experienced city-goer or have never spent time in SF, this place is AWESOME! I would recommend this place to EVERYONE! It's located 2 blocks from 2 local grocers (Falletti's and Bi-Rite), the Painted Ladies, and at least a dozen fabulous restaurants. If you're feeling up to it, you can walk to Golden Gate Park and the DeYoung Museum. Up Scott and left on Duboce, you hit the MUNI light rail. Uber/cab to downtown is $10-$15 depending on time of day.
The flat is airy and light. There's even a small office overlooking the back patio (which is available for hanging out). The kitchen is perfect for cooking and has a pull-out butcher block cabinet for additional prep space. Laundry is available in the garage. The beds were AWESOME! I typically have issues sleeping the first night in a new place, but not here. And there was CLOSET SPACE. A lot of it. This is a rarity in SF, so definitely enjoy it.
The hostess is awesome. We were missing a recycling bag, compost bags, and reusable grocery bags (the plastic ones cost $.10 each) and she ran them up to us immediately. She also provided a write-up with recommendations of local eateries and attractions.
One thing to keep in mind is that the home is older. When watching TV, you'll hear some road noise, but the bedrooms are super quiet. The back stairs are a bit of a challenge, but you can access the laundry and the patio from the front stairs. If this keeps you from staying here, you're missing out. :)
