This Quintessential Catskills Cabin, built in the 1930s as a gentleman's hunting lodge, on a private 3 acres, is the perfect blend of old and new.

Lots of original wood detail & character, but with updated clean kitchen and baths. Excellent cell phone reception, cable tv and wifi. All of the modern amenities at your fingertips, including brand new washer/dryer.

When you're ready to join the world again - the towns of Woodstock & Phoenicia are nearby. We are perfectly situated between the two --- so you get the best of both worlds. 10 miles to the east, along Wittenberg Road (one of the Catskills' most beautiful roads) is the artists' commune of Woodstock - known for its galleries, theatres, artisan shops, restaurants and famous artist residents. Then, 5 miles to the west, you get the country feel of Phoenicia, under the shadow of Mt Tremper, known for its famous breakfast spot Sweet Sues, the Nest Egg General Store and tubing on the Esopus RIver. Boiceville IGA Supermarket is 1 mile away.

There are a multitude of activities within driving distance - both outdoorsy and cultural - a full book of suggested must-sees and must-dos will be in the welcome book at the house.

Use of Winne Lodge's sports equipment, board games, poker set and dvds.

Rustic chic....a perfect retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Winnie Lodge was just what we all needed as an adult family of 6 and our dogs. It was a quiet respite for the Columbus Day weekend. The Lodge is quaint and rustic but has all the conveniences of daily living and more. The updated, fully equipped kitchen allowed us to eat in a few meals but the perfect location brought us from Woodstock and the Garden Cafe (dog friendly outside dining) to Phonecia and the trendy Sweet Sue's for breakfast and the always reliable Brio's.

While in the area we antiqued, kayaked the Esopus Creek and mountained biked at Windham Mountain.

The weather was not on our side and was rainy most of the weekend but the fully enclosed screened in porch was perfect. We spent nights and mornings on the porch which houses the BBQ grill and the globe lights stringed along the roofline made a perfect setting to relax with coffee or a drink in the evening.

We had one night of clear skies and built a fire in the firepit that is surrounded by wooden chairs. Once again... pure perfection. We had hot chocolate and next time I will make sure we roast marshmallows.

The Boiceville IGA market is only a mile or so away but seems miles away as the Lodge is secluded and very private. There is also a liquor store and gas station there as well.

The owners were wonderful and answered a couple questions I had within minutes. I can't say enough about how sweet the owner is! They are the best, truly!!

All in all, our stay at Winnie Lodge was great and we will be staying there again!

Great place for a weekend escape

Rustic, beautiful wood interior and all we needed to enjoy the Catskills. Property is secluded but close to lots of activities and was easy communication with the owner. Will stay again in the future.

Back again, second visit !

  • 5 of 5

Finally got to enjoy this magical home in the winter, and have to say - what a gem. Had a truly romantic week with my love, surrounded by snow + a constant fire. I have a feeling we are going to be regular visitors for a very long time - such an incredible home!!

Incredible, magic, wooded dreams

  • 5 of 5

Being only 10 minutes drive from Woodstock, yet still having the beauty of endless woods was something I cannot begin to explain. It was perfect. But what I can explain is the lodge. The house is impeccable and classic, invitating, warm, with every single thing you will need. The enclosed porch was pure bliss for dinners, or simply watching the woods. I cannot recommend staying here enough times - I spent a blissed out few weeks and will be back asap - I feel like I found a home, in someone else's home - thank you so much to Christine and co for opening these rare doors up to us. This spot is a rare gem - stay here, stay here - you'll be gushing about it too after you do.

If I could buy this property I would!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this property just 9 days before we left the .UK ( in haste I guess) but boy oh boy we were not disappointed. Could you get a more perfectly placed, quainte, rustic, and well stocked property. I don't think so! The owners were attententive and personable from enquiry to current day giving us hints on our trip continuation. Location is packed with potential, creek swimming and walks and hikes galore but close to many local events. Please feel free to mail me for hints but sure Christne will fill you in! Ps mosquitoes that don't bite me have got to be the best bonus yet!
