This house worked well for us as it is quite spacious. We were 2 couples that were staying at the home and due to the size, it provided privacy and has large bathrooms with great water pressure! I have stayed in many place in Kailua area that are converted suites and they do not have great water pressure. This is Hawaii and most homes are cottage style. You can’t expect to come here and have 5 star accommodations as in other locations. It is rustic but very relaxing home with a huge lanai. Yes there were some geckos and also flying cockroaches at night outside on the lanai – these are common in Hawaii.
The kitchen was large with up to date appliances and the gas grill was great - these were used for most of our meals at home.
It is out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and close to the town of Kailua which is a favourite of ours with all you need for purchasing groceries, restaurants and the best 2 of the best beaches in the world, Lanikia and Kailua.
The property manager Robin was available at any time we reached out for all our needs while staying at the home which was much appreciated.
This was a house with so much potential, but between the pool that was peeling, dirty, and freezing cold, the overgrown garden, the drywall that was soft, the windows that had broken seals, and the multitude of geckos and cockroaches, the house should be condemned. If this property was in decent shape, it would be a retreat, but instead, it was a nightmare and a horrible way to end our holiday. It was so bad that when the roaches came out, we left the home for a hotel at 1 am. VRBO has always been so good for us, but this property is not worth staying at. The pictures are very misleading. Do not stay here.
The house is spacious, clean and relaxing. We enjoyed the house immensely. The interior is decorated nicely in an island style and the ventilation system worked well. We wanted to stay in Kaneohe for a family event and the house was nicely located for us.
However, we feel that the pictures of the exterior are somewhat misleading. The swimming pool is uninviting because of the lack of maintenance and upkeep and the water in the bay is not that close to the house and requires that you walk across somebody else's property.
We had a major glitch in the beginning of our stay. After a five hour plane ride and then two hours to rent a car to get to the house, we could not locate the house because there was no address on the road above nor down the driveway at the house itself. Because driveways in the area were rather steep for a car, we ended up walking down these driveways to try to locate the house. We phoned the telephone number that we had been given but discovered that the number led to a voicemail. Frustration. (The manager did eventually return our call.)
We also had problems with Wi-Fi and also the major television set which required additional phone calls. Perhaps having written instructions available to guests would have been helpful regarding those problems.
This was our 1st stop after the 24 hour transit from China. Big house with plenty of space. It is an older home and the furnishings show it but it has good character. Feels like being at a family cabin. Very comfortable. Pool is not very big and extremely cold while we were there. Access to the bay is easy but not where you would want to swim due to the swamp like floor. Have to drive to access everything. Lots of stellar beaches close by along with shopping and restaurants. Spent every evening on Lanai. Grill is old but functional. Kitchen is top notch. Management was very supportive. Internet cut out frequently (may need new router). It was a good stay but there are probably smaller places that have direct access to beaches or a more functional pool at an equivalent price or even cheaper. Having 3 small kids requires either beach access or pool use. We couldn't use the pool due to the temp and we couldn't use the bay due to safety concerns. This was our only negative or the review would have gotten 4 stars. The general worn condition eliminated the chance at 5 stars. It is a good house with positive energy and overall, we enjoyed our stay.
VERY COMFORTABLE!!! This is the best way to describe our stay at this house on Kaneohe Bay. Location is great, out of the rat race taking place in Honolulu yet easy access to airport and downtown, or anyplace else on the island since it is right off H3. Property manager was great as well.....very responsive to questions and anything we needed.
The house is perfect! I really enjoyed staying at local old house, by the sea, very quiet neighbor, close to shopping area, confortable atomsfare, so nice and lovely of everything.
Very easy access from Honolulu International Airport by H3, just 10minutes to Kailua bay, 5minutes to shopping centre, safeway, foodland, very convenient area.
There are some farmers market holding on Thursdays and weekends, so we just enjoyed BBQ at the confortable terrace, enjoyed fresh local vegetables and fruits in the morning.
So delicious! Tropical fish is welcome us at dining room was so lovely,too!

Also thank you for WiFi free, free car parking space for two, great kitchen for perfect stay!
We can also find out great nature, golf courses are tough but lovely view.
