We enjoyed our weekend at Creekside! The weather was perfect, and even more delightful was the view out every window of the beautiful rhododendron. There was plenty of space for our group of six ladies. We loved the porch! It was so refreshing to listen to the bubbling creek and the morning bird song while we enjoyed a hot cup of tea together.
Has all the amenities for a great cabin experience: about 40 minutes to the local ski resorts; a bunch of hiking trails; and the adjacent town has a cozy feel to it
We had a fabulous Christmas trip with our adult children and my daughter's boyfriend. The location could not have been more perfect with the beauty of the Loyalhanna Creek as a backdrop for the lovely house. We enjoyed having morning coffee in the sunroom and playing games at the dining room table in the evening. All bedrooms had comfortable beds. Linens and towels were plentiful. We loved having a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry room, complete with detergent, dish tabs, fabric softener, trash bags, etc. Helped a lot! We really appreciated the Christmas decorations and poinsettias; we brought our own small tree and a few strands of lights to complete the Christmas cottage! Many special memories were made in this home over the week...memories that we will treasure forever. My husband wasn't in favor of getting a rental this year, but he kept telling me how glad he was that we did, and how much he loved the house. Thank you for sharing this special place with us and we may end up coming back someday!
Overall we had a great stay... One major issue is the staircase. It is extremely slippery. My son-in-law fell down an entire flight holding his 2 year old son. Thankfully the baby was not injured because his Dad took the brunt of the fall. There needs to be carpet treads on the stairs. One minor inconvenience but not a deal breaker is that the upstairs bath does not have any electrical outlets, a nuisance but not unexpected in an older home. The home is lovey, had enough space for my 8, well stocked with all necessities. Will definitely recommend and/ or stay again.
The property was in a quiet location with a beautiful garden and flowing river. The kitchen and laundry room was well appointed and the lounge and bedrooms comfortable. Everything worked, the heating and water was hot when needed and everywhere clean. The local town of Ligonier was lovely to walk around with very nice traditional shops and also a supermarket, liquor store, bowling alley, a couple of bats and a gas station. A great stay all in all.
We had a great time, the home is lovely. The yard and surrounding areas are beautiful and the sound of the creek just tops it all off! I would definitely consider staying again next time we are in the area!
This is a lovely house with everything that one could need for a family getaway. It is clean, quaint, and very calming.
