About the property

3 Bedroom, 1 Bath Cottage On The Water's Edge Next To Creek With Waterfall!

Just below the original woodsy one lane road that years ago connected Hammondsport and Penn Yan, sits our cottage on the water. Our very quiet one lane road is ideal for hikers, bikers, dog-walking, and roller-bladers. It also provides an out-of-the way spot for your boat trailer and overflow parking should you need it.

Our cottage is hassle-free. No Stairs allows you to unload luggage and groceries quickly and start to relax. We have renovated this cottage with all new furnishings, appliances, and decorations just a few short years ago.

The kitchen is equipped with a new refrigerator and ice maker, dishwasher, electric stove and microwave. The main living space is air-conditioned and heated by a brand new Mitsubishi heat pump that is so quiet you won't even know it's on! Ombiance & supplemental heat is provided by a charming propane fireplace. We have two queen beds, one full bed, and a full size pullout hide-a-bed. There is a Samsung HD Smart flatscreen TV with 125 cable channels for your enjoyment. Wifi is also available and a DVD player with numerous movies in our library.

The kitchen island is surrounded by custom oak cabinets, a dishwasher, electric stove, and a new refrigerator with ice-maker.

There is a 3-sided wrap around deck. For those inclement days, part of the deck is covered for out-door grilling with your professional 5 burner propane grill. The deck is elevated for a wonderful view of Keuka Lake north to the Bluff and south to the charming, award-winning town of Hammondsport. Also available is plenty of lawn furniture. A fire pit is fun on the beautiful nights.

There is also a large 30' by 13' dock that will please the kids while they are fishing for your dinner. Two 10' Kayaks, a canoe plus a Sunfish Sailboat are available for your use.

If your capacity needs are greater & you could use a second cottage, please see our cottage right next door at VRBO #3800304. We would be pleased to entertain making a package deal for the two together!

About Bob Guinan

Keuka Lake is a special place for us and we have owned properties there since the late 70's. We moved from Rochester to Tampa Bay, FL in 1990. We now own two cottages side by side and are looking forward to completing our third one in 2015.

Bob Guinan purchased this cottage in 2004

Why Bob Guinan chose Keuka Lake

We bought this property because we loved the fact that it was drive-to and seeing the sunsets over the town of Hammondsport closed the deal. Added to that was the charming waterfall that flows right down to the water's edge.

What makes this cottage unique

Eastside, drive-to, near Hammondsport and the wineries, great fishing, quiet and secluded with a resort feel.

Fishing Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had a great visit here 6/10 - 6/16. Nice cottage on the water and no steps. Easy access for kayaks which is something we did every day. I was on the water fishing for 6 to 8 hours every day. I had great success reeling in smallmouth bass as they were still on their beds. They averaged 3.5 lbs, one whopper at 6 lbs 2 oz. All of the fishing was local to the cottage as I was fishing from a kayak. Towards Hammondsport from the cottage I was able to reel in a few trout, East of the cottage it was smallmouth mania. They really like the topwater baits this time of year and were busting out of the water to get it.

This place is in a great location for the fisherman or family vacation. Hammondsport city center is just over a mile away. Close to the wine trail, breweries, and beach area. The cottage was spotless, well decorated, and the raised deck overlooking the lake was a nice place to relax and have dinner. We will be back.

Gorgeous cottage, beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the cottage for our 5th wedding anniversary. The cottage was really clean and the views of the lake from the deck were nothing short of perfect. Still a little early in the season for us to take advantage of the kayaks and canoe available to us. We did spend a lot of time sight seeing and visiting wineries! We couldn't ask for better hosts in Bob and Karen who stopped by and introduced themselves. They were available if we would have needed anything, Bob gave us personal directions while we were driving up, and even rented us the cottage on late notice since it was our anniversary. We hope to return later in the summer when we can take advantage of the warmer lake!

Great Vacation Spot for 3 Generations

  • 5 of 5

With my sister and our husbands, we rented both cottages together and stayed for the week with our three kids and two sets of grandparents. This was a perfect spot for our family gathering. We enjoyed the great views and the docks. We had fun feeding the ducks and the kids loved the kayaks that were available to use. We had such fun preparing our meals together while looking out at the lake. The porches provided a great gathering spot for everyone for morning coffee and also a place for the grandparents to sit and watch the kids swim and play in the water. At the end of day we all sat together to watch the sun go down and enjoy a campfire. The cottages were very clean and had everything we needed; we would definitely stay here again! Thanks for providing such a special place!

Wonderful, close to water, lots to do!

  • 5 of 5

We just finished spending a week at this wonderful property and already can't wait to return! The house itself is warmly decorated, evoking a sense of comfort and peace. It is right on the water edge; the view from the living room is all lake! The upstairs deck is perfect for meals, and the dock is large enough to comfortably seat several people while you watch the kids jump off the dock! There are water toys like kayaks and a canoe, and plenty of noodles and floaties! We really couldn't have asked for anything more. I've stayed at many vacation homes via Homeaway, and this was the greatest experience both because of the home and because of how friendly and responsive Bob was leading up to our vacation. I recommend this property without hesitation!

Family Week on the Lke

  • 5 of 5

We chose to rent both cottages, the blue and salmon for our week at the lake. As children, my cousin and I grew up on Keuka Lake with our grandparents. We wanted our children to experience the lake and make memories that would last them a lifetime. We loved the cottage. It had everything we needed inside and out. I would recommend these cottages to anyone. The location was great and we LOVED being able to drive to the front door. Thanks for the memories!

Peaceful and relaxing! Perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our family of 5 adults and (2) Shih-tzus. Clean and comfortable with stunning views. We were located minutes from downtown Hammondsport and a 30- minute drive to Watkins Glen.
