Overview

Gold Country / High Sierra House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

The Sequoia Park View House is set right on the Kaweah River, two miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. The spectacular views from all rooms stretch from the main fork of the Kaweah River all the way to the tops of Morro Rock and the snow capped Alta Peak in Sequoia National Park. Even the Three Rivers natives say, 'WOW, WHAT A VIEW!' when they first walk through the front door.

We do accept reservations for a two night stay during the summer and holiday season at the standard rate of $400 per night.

We now provide free long distance calling within the U.S. via our land line phone, because the service of some cell phone providers for our area is poor.

There are two bedrooms with queen beds in each and a double sized futon in the lower river room, which has a wall of windows from the floor to the vaulted ceiling 18 feet above. The upper river room shares the same vaulted ceiling and overlooks the lower river room. It has a TV/DVD/VCR and stereo, ceiling fan, and dining table and chairs. It opens into the kitchen area, which is equipped with ceiling fan, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, oven/range, and all the necessary dishes, glasswares, and cooking utensils.

The lower river room opens onto the covered upper deck, which includes a ceiling fan and the outside dining table and chairs. A lower deck is seven steps down from there and is perched over gigantic boulders on the edge of the river.

The master bedroom also has a TV/DVD/VCR, a vaulted ceiling with ceiling fan, and adjoins the spacious master bath/dressing area. The hallway bathroom has a tub and shower with a Sequoia Park view as well.

There is a gas barbeque grill on the lanai, and up a walkway you will find our horseshoe pit area and expansive views of the foothills and mountains. The house is privately situated on one and two/thirds acres at the end of a 400' paved driveway. There is satellite TV reception and a land line phone for local and free long distance calling in the U.S. This 2,100 square foot house was built in 1994 and has central air conditioning and heating

You will find sitting on the river deck so mesmerizing and relaxing that it will be hard to pull yourself away to enjoy all that Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and the Three Rivers area has to offer.

NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE!

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OR PART OF THE $500 RESERVATION/SECURITY DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF THE HOUSE HAS BEEN SMOKED IN OR LEFT IN AN UNUSUALLY DIRTY CONDITION OR IF THERE ARE ANY DAMAGES TO THE HOUSE OR PROPERTY.

Another great find from VRBO, on this Excellent vacation rental!!

  • 5 of 5

We just completed our amazing trip near the end of June. We are a family of 5 (kids aged 8,6,2), and were planning to see Sequoia, and Kings Canyon. My last visit to the parks were 30 yrs ago, so it was all new again to me, and wanted to plan the most memorable trip for my family. This vacation rental just put our trip over the top... So impressive!

The home is very spacious, with lots of Windows, and great views! You can see the rushing river, and even Moro Rock. The place was very clean, comfortable, and private.

No wifi, but we did fine. Nice patio/balcony, with grill was my favorite spot.

We had 106*deg temps in Three rivers, but the AC worked well, and the river was cool.

Up in Sequoia park, it was only 75*deg, so day time spent up there was perfect.

Besides the Park, the little town has a market, and restaurants. The Lake is nearby too, good for boat rentals, fishing, etc.

Another great help was the owner, Tom... And Sheila, the property manager, who shared so much great information and tips, it made it very easy to plan out the details and schedule for each day.

Overall, excellent trip, thanks to the beautiful rental, and the people associated with it.

Thanks for the great experience!

Best Vacation Rental Ever!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This year on Thanksgiving we decided to change the paste a little, and instead of staying in town with our families, our close friends and us rented a house in Sequoia National park. Since we both have little kids, it was somewhat risky taking this chance to be in the woods with kids and not much child activities involved.

However, upon our arrival we were amazed at how nice the place was. It is actually much bigger in person that it appears in the pictures. The bathrooms and the kitchen are very clean and the rooms are nicely decorated.

Everything is thoughtfully designed to make the visitor feel welcomed. There were lots of bored games for the kids to play.

The scenery was breathtaking. Wall to wall windows give the house a full view of the beautiful mountains and the river. It is only less than 100 feet to the river, and even our two year old princess managed to clime down. and help the guys do some fishing.

Another nice touch to the house was the little notes left all around the house telling us how to use gadgets. Mr. Meyers is very prompt on responding to all emails an answering any questions. We like to travel often, and this was one of the best vacation we had!!!

Very nice home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with our family of 4 and it was ideal for a Sequoia/Kings Canyon base. The house is very comfortable and very close to the Foothills visitor center. We enjoyed cooling off in the river and the picturesque views from the deck and from inside the house. It was clean and well cared for.

Wonderful house, location and view!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 just stayed at Tom's house and had an amazing 5 night stay. The listing describes everything perfectly, the house is pretty spacious, location is great (2 miles from the park) and you really can't beat the view of the nearby mountains and rushing river just underneath the house. Tom and Sheila gave us some helpful tips which we were really grateful for as they helped us plan our daily trips to the park, etc. Not having wifi was a bit challenging for the younger generation, but we didn't mind. What would make the stay slightly more convenient would be access to a washer and dryer as well as some type of a cooler. But besides that, we were extremely happy and had an amazing time in Three Rivers. Cheers!

Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park offer visitors a wide variety of activities. Three Rivers hosts the annual JAZZAFAIR in April as well as Team Roping and Rodeo events. It is also the summer home of the Colburn Conservatory of L.A.. Presently, a concert series periodically offers performances by the school's classical musicians throughout the year. Local artists provide opportunities to see and purchase their work on the First Saturday Tour event. Kaweah River and Kaweah Lake offer water recreation activities of all types depending on the time of the year.

Of course, Sequoia National Park, the second oldest national park, provides the opportunity to see the world's largest trees and, along with adjoining Kings Canyon National Park, the awe inspiring vistas inherent in these two national parks. Guided nature walks and snow shoe treks are provided by the national park rangers. Hiking and cross country skiing in the park are other favorite activities.
