Perfect Location & Very helpful Owner!

  • 5 of 5

The location of this was perfect for my family. 15 minutes from WildWood and well as 15 minutes from the Boat Marina. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset every night which was 1 minute walk to the bay. The house was very clean with lots of items to borrow like beach chairs, and propane grill. The owner was extremely helpful in guiding us to the best beach, and places to eat. And answered my texts immediately. We plan on rented again in the near future!

Really had high hopes for this house but they need to have an exterminator come in for the ant problem. We couldn't put anything down on the table or cabinets or stove w/o it being swarmed w/ ants. Threw out a bunch of food that was covered up that was crawling in ants in a short amount of time. They know there is a problem since they mention the ants in their notes.

Not sure when the last time it was occupied but they left sheets and towels in the washing machine. We had to buy some of our own to use. Didn't see them until we went to wash the little of theirs we used.

Oh and it does have internet. Would have been nice to know before .

Nice for our family

  • 4 of 5

I was nervous about a home rental through a third party but everything turned out very smoothly. My family and I had a wonderful time here. We were a group of six, so we filled the house. There were lots of amenities included and the sunsets along the bay were spectacular. The bay is not all that swimmable because of the lot of horseshoe crabs, but we enjoyed kayaking and just sitting along the beach. There is lots of seating in the house and outside so we were able to spread out.

It is listed as 1.5 baths, but the second toilet was out of commission and so one bathroom with six adults did prove difficult. The outside shower and clothesline was a great bonus. The owners clearly take great care of the property and the neighborhood was very friendly toward us vacationers. We visit the Cape May area every year and this home was a great spot for us to do that.

Absolutely loved this place. I have stayed in numerous condo's and cottages over the last 15 years and really found this little gem very comfortable and user friendly. I loved all the extras they had left behind: such as bug spray, detergent, soaps. The garage / shed had beach chairs, bikes, helmets, life jackets, so many things they didn't list. They even had an inflatable kiddie pool that our teenagers loved. Very nice propane grill. Small outdoor fire-pit. There is an outdoor shower that comes in handy after returning from the beach. They also have a hose out back for spraying off feet. Cottage was very clean. Neighborhood was VERY quiet. Neighbors were very friendly. Many people walking and biking every morning. We sat out on the front porch in the morning drinking coffee (They have a keurig and regular pot) and everyone that went by said hello. We ate out back at the patio set every evening. It is set up for six people comfortably.Very little traffic. 90 foot walk to beach access. Beach was very pretty and covered with beautiful stones to collect. Low tide it is muddy. There are also many dead horseshoe crabs - which the kids actually thought was really cool. Can not swim at the beach, but if you like to just sit and enjoy the sounds of the beach it is perfect since there was hardly anyone else there. We had the beach to ourselves one day. Sunsets are beautiful. Cape May beach is about 6 miles away and does charge $6 per person. Wildwood is about 15 minutes away and has free beaches, but much more populated and need to pay $10 to park. The Wawa and CVS are half a mile away. We also visited a winery and the Cape May lighthouse. Everything was less than 15 minutes to drive to, and a very easy drive. They had 3 air conditioners which were very efficient. It was in the 90's all week. The kitchen nook was very convenient for playing cards and games with the kids in the evening. We all found it very peaceful. It was a very relaxing week for all of us. I would consider renting again in the off season just to do more exploring. Overall.. loved it!

Very Nice.

  • 3 of 5

Just as described. Modest, nice little Bungalow. Perfect for my wife & 3 kids. A little disappointed in the nearby beach on the bay, but it was great fro nightly walks & a spectacular sunset! Very short drive to Cape May/Wildwood Beaches, restaurants & attractions! Only 2 negatives were the ants (we cleaned up after ourselves meticulously, but they kept popping up, lol) & the fact that we were asked to wash the sheets & leave clean linens on the beds. I didn't care for that because we basically spent our last morning there doing laundry, which I didn't feel was appropriate. Other than that, we really enjoyed our time there.

Owner's Response: Daniel, We are glad to hear you liked the house so much! Sorry to hear about the ants. Please be sure to contact the guest contact next time so they can help sort out any issues. Yes, the owners do ask that some laundry be done on the way out, but that is very common in the vacation rental industy and helps keep the price low. Again, we're glad to hear you enjoyed your stay overall and hope you come back soon! Best, The Evolve Team

Comfortable home

  • 4 of 5

The rental house was very comfortable and there was a lot of space to spread out - 2 comfortable seating areas which was a great bonus. The house could benefit from having wifi access (to look up attractions, places to eat etc). The big draw when booking this property was being so close to a beach that our children could play on. However, the beach was very dissapointing - a number of people had not cleaned up after their dogs and the beach was covered in the remains of horseshoe crabs - it really was quite a sight to see but not so pleasant for young children to be walking and playing among. The water itself also looked oily. The area of villas itself seems a little run down but we did find a couple of cheap eats. However, it was a short drive to Cape May (20 mins) where there are plenty of lovely beaches and restaurants to enjoy.
