The house is located on a low-traffic residential street in Rochester's Uptown/Zumbro Park West area.

Just six blocks from Mayo Clinic’s Saint Mary’s Hospital, the house is close to restaurants, retail areas, parks, Rochester’s downtown core (and main Mayo Clinic campus) and extensive walking and biking trail network.

Appointments

The property is anchored by mature oak trees and the fenced rear yard includes a large attached deck, garden area and children’s playground set. The deck is ideal for morning coffee or a relaxing evening beverage and there's a fire ring in the back yard if you'd like to enjoy a more rustic evening under the stars.

A compact single-car garage is situated next to the house and additional off-street parking in the paved driveway is provided for 2-3 vehicles.

The eat-in kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator/freezer, gas oven/range and dishwasher plus a suite of cooking utensils, Keurig coffee maker, small electric appliances, a Calphalon pot/pan set, baking pans, dining dishes, glassware and cutlery. A basic selection of cooking spices and condiments is stocked in anticipation of your arrival.

The living room is provided with a 40-inch high definition 'Smart' television, 200+ cable television/audio channels and a Blu-Ray disc player with a selection of movies. The 'Smart' TV has several apps to access your Netflix, Amazon Prime or your other personal streaming TV accounts. Snuggle up with one of the Eddie Bauer fleece throws in the living room while relaxing on the leather sofa, the large recliner or the glider rocker.

A TV lounge on the main level has a separate 24-inch high definition 'Smart' television and a Wii gaming console - perfect for watching that second TV show in the leather recliner, gaming or just as a quiet reading or relaxation spot.

High speed wireless internet service is available throughout the house along with cordless telephones for local and domestic U.S. calls. For something less electronic, check out the assortment of board games, jigsaw puzzles and books for your use!

The house has central air conditioning and accommodates up to six total guests in three bedrooms, one on the main level and two on the upper level. Rest easy in crisp bed linens with plenty of extra blankets and pillows stocked in each bedroom. A Nest smart thermostat provides easy and precise temperature control for your stay.

The bathroom is located on the main level and is equipped with a full size bathtub for either baths or showers. Heavy cotton bathroom towels by Chaps/Ralph Lauren will keep you warm and dry and aromatherapy hand soap by J.R. Watkins of Winona, Minnesota provides an extra touch of luxury.

A full size, front-loading washer and dryer for laundry is on the main level and comes with a starter supply of detergent and fabric softener. A full size ironing board and steam iron are on hand for any necessary touch-ups.

Accessibility

While the house is not rated as accessible for the physically impaired, entry is via six sidewalk/porch steps from the driveway to the front door. The living room, kitchen, bathroom, TV lounge and one queen bed bedroom are all on the main level. A shower chair is available for those not comfortable standing in the bath and a hand grip is provided for easier access to the tub/shower.

Allergens: To reduce allergens in the home, the ventilation system uses a 3M micro-allergen filter, the interior is pet-free and smoke-free and all mattresses and sleeping pillows are protected with secured microfiber encasements. The home is equipped with a Honeywell electric air cleaner, useful in further reducing interior pollen or other airborne allergens.

Lovely home!

We really appreciated this clean, cozy rental home. The full kitchen and comfortable living space with very convenient laundry was great! Having the privacy and ready access to Mayo Clinic , groceries and restaurants was an added bonus!

Perfect Stay

My husband and I rented this charming house for the month of July while we planned for our move back to Rochester. The house, conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, could not have been better and is completely as described and pictured. Especially noteworthy and important to us were the comfortable mattresses, wide array of TV choices with excellent reception, newer and efficient washer and dryer, consistently strong wifi, and air conditioning easily regulated with a Nest thermostat. The linens were plentiful and very good quality, and the furniture was commodious and tastefully chosen. The kitchen included everything we needed to cook our meals...except fresh food! Kudos to our hosts, Tim and Mitch, who were hospitable, helpful, and professional at every step of the booking process. If we had needed them for anything during our stay, we are confident they would have helped us in a timely manner. After we move into our own small house, we can only hope this house is available for us to rent for family when they come to visit. Thanks very much for everything.

Nice home, easy access to hwy 52, and downtown

We basically ate breakfast and slept here as we were out all day. We found it to be a nice little house in quiet area. There is open park area if you need room to kick or throw a ball around, also a little park a block away to walk to.

Lots of nice towels, and convenient to have washer/dryer. The game room with Wii and some games is great for the kids. Lots of movies to watch if you have time.

There were a couple of issues that I alerted owners to, and they said they would take care of.

Just thought of another nicety,.. it would be great to have is a griddle. (for pancakes etc)

We had some issue with the upstairs being to warm for sleeping. A/C can be costly to run so we didn't want to keep it to low. That may have been some of the issue with upstairs getting to warm, eventhough we turned it down to 72 at night.

The beds were a bit too firm for us, but of course that is personel preference.

All and all a pleasent stay!

Very nice small house in a neighborhood convenient to the mayo clinic by car

First the pros. This is a lovely small house as you have heard another reviews. The owners pay a great deal of attention to detail. Great driveway for parking your car. Not too steep. We did not use the small garage as it was spring time. This is very convenient to the mayo clinic by car. One of the best things is that at 19th St. there is a traffic light onto second Street sw.This is a big deal when you're making a left turn. All in all maybe a 5 to 10 minute drive to Mayo depending on the lights. The house is off second st sw and the mayo clinic is

off second st sw. Super simple. Great small deck off the back of the house beautiful for relaxing. Very nice little yard. Great for children. Now the cons. There's only one bathroom in this house. Fine for one couple. Probably OK for two couples if they know each other well. Also, the beds run on the firm side. We did have to put some kind of padding under us because of this. All in all this is a great house. We highly recommend this house if you are visiting Rochester for any reason. It is very convenient to restaurants by car. And is only one exit down to a TJ Maxx store and just a small distance further Apache mall.

As you mentioned in our last telephone call, the firmness of a mattress is a highly personal preference. We have opted for firmer mattresses to best accommodate those whose physical needs are not well served by a soft or high mattress. The home also has - as advertised - one bathroom. Folks requiring (or desiring) home amenities that are not shown in a Home Away/VRBO listing are encouraged to reach out before booking to determine availability of the precise features they need.

Excellent family home

This home was absolutely clean and well taken care of. It was perfect for our family with young children. The location was very convenient as our daughter was receiving care at the Mayo clinic.

The owners were extremely helpful and very prompt with communication. It was an excellent experience!

Mayo Clinic's main campus is located in Rochester, MN. Closest to our Uptown Oaks property is Mayo Clinic-St. Mary's Campus. This hospital has the Emergency Department along with many inpatient medical specialties. Located just east of St. Mary's campus is Mayo Clinic Downtown Campus. This location is largely an out-patient facility where patients are seen for appointments and day procedures. Adjacent to Mayo Clinic is the Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital, serving many additional specialties along with inpatient medical care.

Many of the the clinic and hospital building are connected via pedestrian skyway and pedestrian subway with connections to downtown retail shopping, dining and pubs.

There are many options for your travel to Rochester. The city has airline service through American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines via he Rochester Airport (RST). Additional airline options are available from Minneapolis, (MSP) located about 90 minutes NW of Rochester. Van shuttle service from MSP is available with 20+ scheduled rides daily. Amtrak is located about 40 miles east and shuttle services are also available to and from the train station.

Many people inquire if a car is needed. While Mayo Clinic Hospital-St. Mary's Campus is a short walk away, it is suggested you plan on a vehicle, taxi cab or services like Uber and Lyft for convenience.

Our Uptown Oaks location will soon have direct access to Cascade Lakes park district that is currently under construction. This new park will have a lake with swimming, fishing, hiking, amphitheater and picnic areas. More to come!

There are many small cities around Rochester that offer unique day trips. Historic communities, caving, river tubing, skiing, hiking and camping all nearby. The Mississippi River is only a short 40 minute drive east of Rochester where an abundance of exploring and adventure can be found. Ask for recommendations!

Damage Deposit $350

No hidden cleaning or per-person fees or extra charges for use of multiple bedrooms! Less than $63 per night for a 1-month stay!

The home is rented for a minimum of 10 nights - if you don't need that many nights, no problem! The home will be blocked for you for 10 nights and you're free to come and go at any time during that period. At 21 nights, the monthly rate applies - please send us a note with any questions and we'll be happy to help you select the right date range.

50% of the payment for your stay is required at time of booking confirmation and the rental balance is due 10 days before your confirmed arrival date.

A written rental agreement with deposit is needed to secure a reservation; agreement provided for your review before deposit is collected.

Cancelation: a reservation cancelled 21 days or more in advance of arrival date will result in a refund of rental fees paid. Cancelations less than 21 days in advance of arrival date will result in forfeiture of 50% of total rental fee.

If considering a one month or longer stay (30+ nights), please contact us for sales and lodging tax information - elimination of the short stay lodging taxs may be possible under state and local tax code.
