Relax and unwind at this beautiful retreat. Baxter State Park and Mount Katahdin are an easy day trip. Mount Katahdin is the highest mountain in Maine at 5,268 feet. Named “Katahdin” by the Penobscot Indians, the term means “The Greatest Mountain.” Katahdin is the centerpiece of Baxter State Park: a steep, tall mountain formed from underground magma. The flora and fauna on the mountain are typical of those found in northern New England. Katahdin is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail and is located near a stretch known as the Hundred-Mile Wilderness. Schoodic Lake is a deep water fishing lake

Excellent location. Highly recommended.

Scenic Schoodic Lake can't be beat from a beautiful lakefront home. Sunrise can be experienced in the comfort of your bed as the morning sun rays bath you in a classic Maine embrace. Jean and Adam made the stay special with the extra touch of a canoe rental followed by a relaxing paddle with the one you love. The North country never fails to sooth the soul. Evenings treat you to the best star gazing. Don't miss this one. It's a winner!

Beautifully appointed and spacious!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin with top-notch views of crystal clear Schoodic Lake! My family and I had an amazing week fishing, swimming, walking, and sightseeing. Jean was kind and thoughtful; she even brought over a booster seat and double stroller for my two-year-old and four-month-old to use. Would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful lakefront house

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this place and we truly enjoyed the time there. You can bring your kayaks and enjoy kayaking in the southern part of a huge lake. The house is very comfortable, it has a wonderful kitchen and several rooms. In addition, you have access to washing and dryer machines. We were only three (my wife, our son and our dog) but this house can accommodate at least 6 visitors without any problem. It is about one hour from Baxter state park (route 11 north) and about one hour from Bangor (the largest city in that part of Maine). The nearest town is Milo where you can buy groceries. The property is well-maintained and very clean. Beds are comfortable and the owner provided with good towers and linen. You only need to bring your personal things since the house is well-equipped. We strongly recommend this place and you will have a great time in this part of Maine.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for coming! We love that our guests enjoy Schoodic Lake as much as we do. We have kayaks available for rent if you don't have one or don't want to bring your own. Also close by for adventures in the great outdoors is Katahdin Iron Works, Gulf Hagas (Grand Canyon of Maine), Borestone Mountain to name a few! We try to spoil our guests with the little touches and hope they come back year after year. We look forward to seeing you again next year and many years after!
