Stay with us and you will return home rested and refreshed!
When we first saw this property, we knew this was our little peace of summer paradise. The backyard could not be more peaceful with beautiful and serene nature all around. The cottages proximity to the lake was also very attractive. Since we had purchased this house, we completely renovated it on the inside, with new walls, floors, and bathroom. We loved the vintage look of the kitchen, so we decided to go with a shabby chic look there.
We now have 2 little kids, and could not be happier with our choice. The backyard is fully fenced, making it a completely safe place for our children to roam and to explore nature. The house is also very baby/child friendly, as well. And of course, a 1 minute walk to the lake makes our stay there even more enjoyable!
Eli Kuznetsov purchased this cottage in 2008
The property was clean, comfortable and inviting. We had everything we needed. We enjoyed playing cards on the back deck and our dog had the freedom to rome in the fenced in yard. The neighbors were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice paddle in our kayaks around the quiet lake. All in all a very relaxing stay. Thank you!!
Eli was so accommodating of our weird travel hours and the cottage was Perfect for our needs. Great location. Within walking distance of Loch Sheldrake village. We had our yellow lab with us and he enjoyed his stay as well.
I stayed here while visiting my mother who lives in the area. It was perfect for me. I loved the little back porch for my morning coffee and the access to the lake. It has fruit trees and nice neighbors. It is clean and peaceful and everything works. The kitchen could be a little better stocked in terms of pots, pans, etc but I managed fine with what was there. The owner was very nice, helpful and responsive. I will definitely rent again when in the area.
This cozy little bungalow suited our needs perfectly. If you are looking for a place to sleep that is economical, this will suit your needs. It is very basic, but clean, and a very short walk to the lake. I would say that it is most suitable for one or two people. Small bedroom with two twin beds. Small living area with small tv. Deck out back with grill.
Perfect if you've got dogs- the entire yard is fenced and quite large. We had a great time hanging out with the puppy outside while grilling and reading on the deck. The cottage is small, but it is a nice size for two people, and you can't beat the price for easy access to the Catskills. Lots of hiking nearby- Willowemoc Wild forest is about a 20-25 minutes away. Kitchen had the basics and the house was clean when we arrived. I think it would be pretty cramped for 4 guests though, unless you were only planning on spending time at the house to sleep. The homeowner was not around while we were there, but he was very responsive to my questions via email before and during our stay. The house is in the middle of a residential neighborhood on the lake, and it is a nice area to walk around. Not much else nearby without getting in the car. No wifi or air conditioning, but it was quite cool while we were there (middle of July it was about 50 deg F at night). Overall, we were very happy with our stay, and I would definitely recommend to fellow dog owners looking to do some weekend hiking with their pooch.
My husband and I spent a long labor day weekend here and it was absolutely beautiful. The area is beautifully rural, with great hiking and scenic views, and yet an easy drive from NYC, under two hours. The house is very small but it was ideal for two people. The futon in the living room was pretty cozy so I think it could handle four people as well. The house looks recently renovated and although the shower did not have great water pressure, it was really not a problem. We spent most of our time at the house on the deck, enjoying the peace and quiet, and had fantastic BBQ dinners. I would note that although there is a Wal-Mart about 15 minutes away, I would recommend bringing food with you because the area is really remote and there we did not see any other food stores (except for a farm stand where we got delicious local corn). We did not see much in the way of restaurants in the immediate vicinity but we really didn't look as we were so happy to have a grill!
The lake is a short four minute walk away, with a little private beach which did not seem much used, and the lake is perfect for peaceful floating and swimming, as there are no motorized boats on it. We only saw a couple of row boats and some paddle boarding, but not near our beach.
The landlords were extremely friendly and helpful, and I have no doubt that we will return to this property. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful place.
