About Spanish Wells:
The Beach House sits on a beautiful white sandy beach with shallow colorful water that is protected by a reef. The summer water temperatures can reach into the high 80's with a light sea breeze. The winter offers low humidity and the water and air temperature can be in the upper 70's with stronger north winds.
The private beach location is a short walk to shopping and dining. Spanish Wells is a unique place with a rich history dating back to the 1600's with ties to England. Lobster fishing is the main industry.
It is peaceful place to get away from city life and enjoy island living. A local fast ferry stops each day with connections to Harbour Island and Nassau. Golfcarts and watercraft are available for rent. Fishing trips can be arranged.
Getting there is easy with daily air service to North Eleuthra (ELH) from Fort Lauderdale Atlanta, or Miami airports. Flight time is aproximately one hour. The airport is serviced by silver airways- from FLL, American Airlines from Miami, and Delta from Atlanta-with 19 and 30 passenger aircraft. A cab cost about $20 to get from the airport to the island, including the cost of the water taxi.. The water taxi will bring you to St. Georges Cay ( spanish wells-)where the Beach House is located and the community is called Spanish Wells.

From the moment we first vacationed here, we knew this was a unique place. No hotels,a private pink sand beach to call your own and space to breathe, relax and enjoy living on a small friendly tourist free island. Spanish Wells is a peaceful and safe town with a charm of it's own. The residents are friendly and have pride for their centuries long history as fisherman. We built our house in 2011 with love and care and lots of attention to detail that matches the caribean style, yet has all the amenities one would expect in a high end rental home.
You can expect a lot of wonderful benefits to staying on a small fisherman's island. Privacy, relaxation, and a quaint town. Catch a softball game in town or take your golf cart down to Poppa Scoops for some home made ice-cream. You also have access to bonefishing right on the beach which is in front of the house. If you don't like to fish, visit the local fisherman for his catch of the day or yummy fresh lobster.Enjoy the stylish, caribbean style color palate of the home with a large living room/kitchen area and an upstairs play area and TV watching room for the kids. Hang out on gorgeous deck and enjoy sun or shade throughout the day. At night, enjoy the gentle breezes as you star gazeon the deck. Watch the sunrise from your bedroom window, living room or by talking a walk on the beach. We also have bicycles, paddleboards and kayaks for your enjoyment.
Just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed Kiss-a-fish. The cottage was everything I pictured it to be and then some. The beach was beautiful and the locals were just so hospitable to us. A perfect vacation. Johnnie was attentive to our needs although we did not need him too much. It is wonderful to have everything go so smoothly and hard for me to believe that all promises were exceeded
The location, beach and ocean was beautiful.....the cottage itself needed some tlc....the appliances were rusted, the dishwasher did not work and the covers on the living area chairs were very much in the need of cleaning...the carpet as well was very dirty....the pillows as well as the mattress cover were stained and needed replacing....our grandson and granddaughter were aloted the upper sleeping area...they could not sleep there due to an unknown odour...upon investigation, 2 dead rotting mice were found in their sleeping area...we could not use this area for the first week and they were relagated to sleeping on the couch....not a great start to a holiday...it was cleaned up but the odour persisted so needless to say not a good start to a relaxing holiday
Wow, what an experience! My four girlfriends and I enjoyed the vacation of a lifetime during our 6 nights at Kiss A Fish! We so appreciated the caretaker Johnny and felt very well taken care of during our stay. The house itself was wonderful with everything we needed. The views out to the ocean were indescribable and Pictures do not give it justice. Our favorite experience was an "ocean safari" with James Dunnam. We saw sea turtles, dove for star fish, went snorkeling, spear fishing, and visited Preacher's Cave. The town itself is an unusual experience. We had a blast talking to shop owners and town people. The history we discovered on this island was priceless. We will be back!
This was our third year in a row going to Spanish Wells and there is no other place I have ever been that comes close for relaxing and unwinding - beautiful beaches and wonderful people!! This was my first year at Kiss a Fish and it was absolutely awesome!! The house is well equipped , spotless and the location is second to none. My wife and I sat on the deck for hours each night listening to the waves and staring at a sky full of stars that you simply don’t get in Boston. In fact neither of us or our three kids even turned on the TV for the whole week we were there. My kids are 18, 16 & 12 and again none of them even turned the TV on once!!!
The beach side of Spanish Wells is by far the place to be, but the size of the beach varies street by street and Kiss a Fish is in a great location where the beach is large during both high and low tide.
I don’t really have words to describe how much we love Spanish Wells and I have gotten to know the small island well and I don’t think there is a better house to rent than Kiss a Fish.
As always, I booked for next year before I left the Island.
p.s. don’t share this with too many people as we don’t want share this secret paradise with too many people…
My husband and I spent a week at Kiss-a-fish in Spanish Wells and we can't stop talking about it. All the other reviews said it well. This place is perfect for relaxing and getting away. The cottage is exceptional..spacious, clean, cozy and well stocked.. Lacking for nothing. You can tell the owners put thought and time into making sure their guests have a comfortable stay. Everything you need is there! The views and beach are spectacular.. We felt like we had a private beach all to ourselves.. We were usually alone but at its most crowded.. there were 6 people on the beach and that included the two of us. What makes this place truly unique is the town... Driving around on a golf cart was so fun but the people are the best part.. so friendly and gracious. The owners and caretakers were so helpful and considerate and really took care of us an helped in the planning. We've been to many islands and stayed at many different properties but this one is special and by far our favorite. We highly recommend it! Oh and if you go we also recommend...the lobster mac and cheese and fried conch at the shipyard, the lobster bisque at the anchor, the museum tour and bike riding around town.
Our stay in Spanish Wells was short, but very relaxing and interesting. The beach house was beautiful and surprisingly very well appointed with full size appliances and numerous kitchen items. It also had two stand up paddle boards and a kayak available for us to use. The beach is very private, clean, and natural. We really enjoyed walking in the mornings and evenings on the beach and rarely ever saw another person! The local people are exremely friendly and accomodating and sport a great sense of humor. They take a great deal of pride in their island and go out of there way to make you feel welcome. I would recommend stayi g at least a week, or longer, due to the amount of travel required to get here. Also, don't arrive on a Sunday. Everything is closed!
If there is a perfect place to vacation in the Bahamas, it is Spanish Wells. If there is a perfect location on Spanish Wells, it is Kiss a Fish. With amazing views and just a few steps to the whitest beach and most colorful and clear water you have ever seen, this beach home is hard to beat anywhere in the Caribbean. It is well stocked, which includes items prior guests leave such as sun screen, food, and drinks to share. What a great tradition and we were glad to add to this welcome stash. Paddle boards, a Kayak, and bicycles are provided. If you have little ones, you will enjoy the shallow beach, no undertows, smaller waves, and ultimate safety of the island. Whether you lock the doors or not, you are safe in this wonderful place we call paradise. You will enjoy the support you get from the owners and appreciate the kindness you receive from the caretakers. If you plan to reserve this property, plan to reserve many months in advance as everyone wants this location!
