About the property

This 1 bedroom garden apartment has everything you need to feel like home

We have recently renovated the downstairs of our old Turks and Caicos house, which used to be the children's home. We have always wanted to live on the beach, and although we are a few steps away, we love this location! The end of a cul de sac, residential area, 5 minute walk on the beach to the Conch Shack . 7 minutes by car to Turtle Cove, 10 minutes to the Grocery store, 15 to Grace Bay.

We wanted to have our own theme, and have some fun at the same time.

We are big travelers, but not good tourists, we prefer to be a little more local, and if that's what you like then this is for you. We are both Diving Instructors but actually work in different areas of tourism now. We know the diving here so please ask!

We live upstairs and are available to answer any questions you may have. We also run a concierge business, so we are happy to book your dive packages for you, book restaurants, tours excursions......just let us know!

About Emma Halliday

We moved to Provo as diving Instructors, we only planned to stay a year. We were on Island for the recession and decided we may as well stay until the world economy gets better. This opened a door for us to buy a house here in Provo. Our house used to be the children's home, and before that a doctors house. Even though its not old, its considered one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood.

We had lots of work to do.

We have renovated the downstairs into two apartments and we live upstairs. We are yet to renovate upstairs.

We both work in tourism and run a small concierge company. We have two Potcakes and several chickens. If the chickens are behaving we will happily share the eggs. We lfell in love with our house with the surrounding trees and the location. We have no traffic to worry about. The beach is just a couple of minutes walk, and better yet the Conch Shack is just a 5 minute beach walk.

This is a long term project and we hope to one day have the whole house renovated...........but this is a small island..........and Island time really does exist!

Why Emma Halliday chose Turks & Caicos

This apartment is perfect for couples who like to get away from it all. We are not in the heart of the tourism area but just a short drive. If you decide not to drive and just hang out on our beach there is a high chance of seeing no one else there.

The apartment i have been told is like home, we have tried our best to think of your needs, and we have supplied beach chairs, umbrellas, BBQ, Hammocks so you can enjoy the beach, the garden and the apartment to its full. The apartments is spacious and airy with a full kitchen.

What makes this apartment unique

We fell in love with The Old Beach House because if its secret location, its a real hidden gem. Taxi drivers don't know where we are! Surrounded by old trees, and just minutes away from a beach we love not having to get in a car to go anywhere.

My husband and I stayed at the beach house and enjoyed the time we spent on the island. If you are looking to stay away from the large hotels and cookie cutter experience stay here. The location is perfect quiet and minuites away from some great secluded beaches restaurants and the hustle and bustle of the strip with all the resorts. The apartment has everything you need and the owners are there if you need them . Emma was a wealth of information and she was like having a private consierge making reservations for us for meals and excursions. Its a good idea to rent a car but you would want one anyway to see the island.(emma can rent one for you) Driving is easy not much traffic at all. Supermarkets nearby to buy snacks and such and a beach 5 min walk if you choose. We came back relaxed and wanting to return. You cant beat the value if you are looking to get away and experience island living.

A perfect apartment for couples or solo travelers

  • 5 of 5

We just loved the location of the property right near the beautiful village of Blue Hills and the beach. In fact, we spent endless time soaking up the sun during those amazing sunsets. The property had just the right size for a party of two, one bedroom, nice bathroom with a small kitchen and a sitting room.

All was well maintained and clean!

The owners Emma and Roger were fantastic hosts, always looking out for our wellbeing while they still left us with plenty of privacy. Thanks again for all.

Emma provided us with a whole bunch of eggs, from her chickens that cluck around the property, more than enough for a good breakfast the first mornings.

The owners have 2 very cute and friendly dogs who do not have access to the lower part of the premises.

We highly recommend to rent a jeep for your stay. Streets on the island can be rough and some are steep and sometimes not in the best condition.

Provo is a great island with beautiful beaches and we can't wait to return to this apartment soon!

Perfect Charming Island Home

  • 5 of 5

We found our little piece of paradise in Turks & Caicos!

The previous reviews and descriptions were bang on and this home was far more beautiful and charming than shown in the pictures.

We came to the islands to escape the hectic city life after a long winter, and this home instantly provided a place where we could unwind and turn everything off. We felt such comfort here that we never wanted to leave each day. It in itself would have completely fulfilled our vacation needs, however, there was a whole island to explore.

This property comes equipped with a lovely outdoor lounge and eating area amidst a beautiful garden, abundant with island critters and resident chickens who entertained us daily, and provided us with fresh eggs. Inside is a fully equipped modern kitchen, a living/dining room area that opens up to the patio, a bathroom with large open shower area, a bedroom with a queen bed and desk, and a separate laundry/closet area. This home is beautifully decorated with a neutral calming pallet and colourful artsy island accents throughout. It’s immaculate, functional and spacious enough for two.

This apartment is extremely sound proof and private. We ran into the other occupants at times but mostly while coming and going. If we didn’t see them we would never know they were there, same as the owners who live on the upper level. Emma (owner) greeted us upon arrival, gave us a tour, explained the ins and outs and was on her way. She is a fantastic host who made herself available as necessary, but otherwise gave us our space.

Thanks to Emma and her keen island knowledge, her recommendations led us to one of our best dining experiences ever at Coco Bistro and by far our favourite scuba diving experience with Flamingo Divers.

The beach is a short walk away, maybe 3 minutes. We had a rental vehicle so only accessed the local beach to walk to the nearby beach bars, otherwise, we visited the many other beautiful beaches the island has to offer. Note: a Jeep type vehicle is an asset as some of our favourite areas would not have been easily accessible by car due to the rugged terrain. We rented our Jeep Wrangle from, and highly recommend them.

Without hesitation we would recommend this property to others and would definitely stay here again should we return to the island.

Thankyou Emma for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise with the world. Fantastic experience, fantastic memories!
